Alex and his team are fantastic. The quality of work was impeccable and we could not be more pleased with the outcome. Alex worked closely with us to understand our needs and kept us up to speed throughout the entire project. He is great to work with and clearly an expert in his trade. We recently refurbished our front stoop and sidewalk and were so pleased to work with Alex from Alex Masonry. His team helped us with the design and stone selection. We found Alex to be extremely patient, knowledgeable and detail oriented despite our indecisiveness. We were also pleased with his competitive prices, professionalism and efficiency (Alex's team was careful doing the installation and cleaned up after themselves while finishing the job in only three days). What's more, Alex went above and beyond when we needed assistance designing and cutting retaining wall blocks. You'd be hard pressed to find a better group of guys. Extremely professional, responsive and communicative. A REAL CLASS ACT!!!! I contacted several contractors and within minutes of requesting info, Alex called to discuss the job. Initially I had an idea in mind of what I wanted, Alex suggested a couple of other options that would better suit my needs. He brought me samples within days. Alex and crew completed the job in less than three days. Throughout the process he kept me informed and asked questions to ensure he and his team were meeting my expectations. They were extremely flexible when I asked if the could expand the patio. It is no wonder they are one of the highest rated professionals on Angie's list. I HIGHLY recommend, and would not call anyone else in the future to perform this type of trade work.

Very well. The recommendations in the design phase of the project were well thought out. Alex & team showed up on time and began on the agreed upon date. All the work was done professionally and to a high standard. Many on our street inquired and also employed Alex as they saw the quality of the work performed. I would definitely hire him and his team again.

The work went very well, and the final result, especially in front, is excellent. I was initially overwhelmed by all the choices of stone, pavers and patterns available. Alex met with me a couple of times, and we also met at the store where he gets the materials. He provided helpful suggestions on colors that would look good together and with the house color. I had selected the style of paver I wanted, but he recommended using a similar, but smaller size paver, which was more suited to the width of the walkway. He was right, and I love the way the pattern turned out. He said that a non-random pattern was the way to go. I'm glad I agreed! There were frequent phone and text conversations. The job had to be coordinated with other work being done at my house, and Alex was flexible with this and trying to meet my schedule and budget. His dad has lots of experience and was helpful resolving a couple of problem areas in the backyard. The job looks great! And they cleaned up the area really well.

They arrived very quickly and provided an estimate to completely repoint the outside foundation. Once their scheduling permitted, they came out and cleared out the old mortar around all the bricks and repaired the cracks, then refilled in with new mortar all around the foundation. It looks wonderful and I feel much more comfortable with the state of the house. Even though the job ended up being more work that they had originally estimated, the stood by their original quote to us. They were very thorough with their work and had great attention to detail. They were very clean, too. The job was performed over two days and at the end of each day, they took the time to clean everything up. Other than the work on the house, you wouldn't have known anyone had been there! We hope to have them back to work on some more masonry jobs in the future. What a great team!

I hired Alex Masonry to repair and replace the stucco siding on a large modern house in Woodbridge, CT. They did an absolutely fantastic job - punctual, fast, professional, and responsible. The craftsmanship of the work was absolutely top notch, and you won't find better customer service. We had a downpour of rain that was unexpected and damaged some of the new stucco work within hours of its completion, and Alex Masonry was back the next day fixing it up free of charge. I will be going back to Alex Masonry for all of our projects in the future, they have us as a lifelong client.

It was an absolute pleasure having Alex Masonry complete this project. Alex was punctual and communicated well. The finished product is beyond anything I had expected! The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding and the patio is absolutely beautiful!

I needed a concrete base poured for my 35' Amateur Radio antenna tower. The base is critical for the tower's structure and integrity. The bottom section of the tower is actually cemented into the base. The hole for the base section is four feet deep. When the tower base in inserted into the concrete, it must be plumb and level or the tower will lean. Alex and his crew dug the four foot deep by two and a half feet square hole in my backyard, filled the bottom of it with gravel for proper drainage, and correctly placed the three foot tower base in the hole. He did an excellent job keeping it level and even. Beyond that, he assisted me in installing the first section of the tower and came back two weeks later, at no extra charge, and put up the second section for me. He was a pleasure to work with and very conscientious about the quality of his work.

Decided it was time to replace the outdated stonework around the house. Since Alex Masonry received so many positive Angie's List reviews, they were my first and only choice. Alex wasted no time returning my call; process began in April when we met at my house. Alex represents his company well. Timely calls & emails say a lot about the service provider. With all the spring rain, I had no problem waiting for the job to begin early June. Alex & his hard-working crew showed up when expected both days. Pavers selected complimented the color of the house. To top it off, every trace of stone dust was washed and swept away. Nothing nicer than those who clean up after themselves. Am definitely thrilled with the job performed by Alex Masonry. Having an experienced & congenial mason to work with was a real plus, too.

Their work is meticulous - everything looks beautiful. They clean everything up after work is finished. Alex promptly returns phone calls and is very friendly and accommodating.

This was the 2nd time I hired Alex Masonry; last year, I had them rebuild the stone retaining walls adjacent to my front entry stairs and widen the stairs as well (see photo and last spring's review). This year, I wanted to replace my crumbling asphalt driveway, repaving the lower sloped end but using pavers on the top end near the garage, which is level. IMO, there's nothing uglier than a large expanse of cracked and potholed asphalt. I had the contractor who will repave the lower end tear up the old asphalt on the entire driveway; then Alex's crew arrived as scheduled and performed the work as promised. The finished driveway is beautiful; it looks more like a courtyard than a driveway. Alex is always pleasant and easy to work with and if you have specific ideas or concerns, he's responsive to your needs. The crew worked very quickly and did quality work. I'm in love with my driveway and I can't wait to show it off. The price was not cheap but they had a pretty big area to cover, including a large space to left of garage that you can't see in the photo. I believe they used 9 pallets of pavers. Maybe I could have gotten cheaper pavers, but Alex had faith in this particular brand, Unilock Camelot, so that's what we went with. The driveway has just improved my home's curb appeal by about 300%. Thanks, Alex & crew!

Alex and his family were very courteous and professional. He arrived when he said he would and kept great communication throughout the project. His families skill set and knowledge of their craft is unmatched. The attention to detail is seen in their work. I love the layout and pattern of the blue stone and his suggestions for using a special type of joint filler to combat the winters here. Alex and his father and uncles also work very quick but steady without ever rushing their work. I called about a concern I had and he addressed it right away and took care of it the very next day. You will not be disappointed with his services. It seems like he treats the job like he was doing it at his own home. I originally was thinking of doing stamped concrete, but Alex helped me see the superiority of blue stone for the harsh winters and use of salt for our area. It made sense and I appreciate the headache I was saved from not having to deal with resealing and the repair and maintenance of stamped concrete.

Alex was fantastic! He is so helpful and professional. He was prompt about answering the phone and came out to take a look at the set up to figure out what to do. He helped connect us directly to the granite supplier to install the granite because the pieces we required were so large and it would be cheaper for us to go directly through them. He monitored the whole process, did the prep work, and made sure to connect with the granite company to ensure they followed through and the work was done correctly. Alex Sr came out when the granite installers were here to be sure there weren't any issues, and Alex Jr followed up numerous times afterwards to make sure we were satisfied. They were both fantastic and we would absolutely hire them again, and in fact plan to do so for any other masonry work in the future! We are very pleased with their work and professionalism all around.

The thing I like about this contractor is that he always answers his phone - you never have to leave a message. This means you always know exactly where you stand as respects the job that he is going to do for you. Bottom line, he showed up when he said he would, did a great job and cleaned up everything after he was done. If I ever need any more masonry work, I will certainly call Alex to do the job and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs such work.

Alex contacted me the same day I requested the quote through Angie's list. He arrived on time for the appointment, I accepted the quote he provided me. He told me the job would start in approximately four weeks, but would contact me with a start date a week before. The job started four weeks later. Upon arrival, Alex introduced me to the crew who would be doing the work. He reviewed with me the work that was agreed upon. The crew got right to work. The job took approximately 3 1/2 days. The first day was spent removing the brick walkway and wood and brick patio and preparing the areas for the pavers to be installed. During the 3 1/2 days, Alex always checked in with me prior to starting work and also at the end of the day to let me know what the crew had completed, etc. The French drain that Alex installed in front of my two car garage is wonderful, I am no longer getting water in the garage or having to step into large puddles to get to my car if parked in the driveway. I have received many compliments on how beautiful the walkways, porch and patio look. Alex and his crew did a great job and I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to family or friends.
