Do NOT hire Fernando of Northeast Mitigation System to do any work for you. He installed a radon mitigation system at our house a year ago and it took him three attempts to get it under the recommended 4.0 pCi/L. He kept making excuses about why he couldn't get it right, including saying we needed a sump pump. Now, a year later our levels are extremely high again (11.0!) and he is refusing to honor his warranty on the system. We did end up installing a sump pump within that year to avoid flooding issues and he now says that having a sump pump could be causing problems for his system and conveniently doesn't remember telling us that we should get one installed. He is extremely unprofessional and has been nothing but a headache to deal with. I've never had a more frustrating experience with a "professional". Save yourself the trouble and hire CT Basement Systems instead.

Fernando answered my call and was at my house the same day. I had a 19 year old radon mitigation system in place, but I had not had it inspected since I first purchased the house. The basement which was normally never used for other than a laundry room was to become a teen hangout/crash pad. I read that it should be inspected every few years and Fernando confirmed that. I wanted to make sure that the system was working properly before turning this space over to kids. Luckily, the fan was still working all those years later. He replaced the pipe outside of the house with PVC and extended it past the gutters and roof. He also replaced another tube like/straw that I forgot what it was called. All in all, Fernando was prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable. I did mention to him that I may have my roof replaced and he gave me some tips so that no roofing debris will fall in the pipe while they're working. I feel confident that if I need to contact him again, he will be as prompt and diligent as our first meeting. Thank you!

Chris was extremely responsive. He responded to my email inquiry the same evening and called me the next morning. We were able to meet that day to look at the job and agree on the estimate. The work was complete within 2 days and Chris measured for a third project immediately! Friendly, professional and extremely responsive service!

BUYER BEWARE!! It went well initially, however, Fernando made some modifications at time of install, due to material shortage that unfortunately has caused our daughter to fail an home inspection three years later. He is claiming that the siding people altered his work. The "siding people" was my husband, who put the tube back up, exactly as it was made. The good news is that the current radon test was negative. The bad news is that he will not honor his work and return to correct his error, despite his contract stating five years transferrable. His work was NOT altered in any ways. In question, is the direction of the tube he glued together which has not been altered in any way. Our cost to repair since he will not honor his work is $279.

"[Member Name Removed], per our conversation on April 24,2018 regarding [Member Information Removed] radon system that you NOW claim was improperly installed in March 2015, you claimed you were an honest person and that no one had touched said system. Later on that day your husband returned my call and made me aware that he himself had to remove and reinstall [Member Information Removed] complete radon system to properly install new siding. Per signed contract I am not held responsible for any damage or alterations done to [Member Information Removed] radon system by any other person or company than myself. Your daughter also sent me pictures of [Member Information Removed] system with [Member Information Removed] new alterations present. Piping was cut and a new 90 degree elbow was installed. Because of these alterations [Member Information Removed] contract is now void. I was willing to come and fix damage and alterations but not free of charge since contract was breached. Thank You. - Fernando"

Fernando was excellent in all respects. He responded immediately, provided a competitive price, scheduled us within a few days and completed the installation in a few hours. The installation was neat and aesthetically sensitive. He cleaned up completely and the radon levels in our large basement were reduced from close to 10 to about 1. I would use him again withou any hesitation whatsoever.

Found out I had radon after the buyer of my home did their inspection, and had a pretty tight window to have a system installed and air re-tested. I called Fernando and he was at my house the next day. I thought he was just going to check it out on the first visit; instead he went ahead and installed the system on the spot. Very professional, very nice to deal with. He was conscious of installing the system so that the output would be in an inconspicuous spot in the back of the house, something I was worried about. Air re-testing went great with barely a trace of radon, way below the allowable level. Great experience - would highly recommend.

Fernando was excellent to work with. Besides installing the detection system he also sealed my sump pump properly and was able to solve another issue for us without charge. A great experience all around.

Fernando was very timely, prompt and professional. I will use again and highly recommend. I can't opine on price because we did not get quotes from other providers, but it was a little above the range estimated by the home inspector.

Fernando was very accommodating when scheduling both the initial meeting to provide an estimate and to work on the job. He arrived promptly both times and his quote was on target and did not deviate after the job was completed. The area of the basement wasn't completely cleared for him to start work when he and his son arrived, but he even helped to move things. Both of them kept things neat and clean, which made it easy for them to clear out quicker with no mess for us to pick up after. I'm picky about installation and didn't want the utility side of the house to look like an industrial area, so Fernando was able to install the exhaust up to the roof alongside the downspout. He also answered any questions on his the written proposal and his price was as stated for the work that was needed for my particular job. We needed 2 locations in the basement floor where they had to install PVC pipe to draw out the radon to a single fan attached to the outside of the house, that exhausted up to the roof. Really clean install. Also got another test kit from him, so that we can test for basement radon levels within the next 2 weeks to see if levels have been reduced to below the maximum allowed. Fernando said he will come back should we need any adjustments and advised us to remember to call him for annual service. His company is listed by the CT Dept of Health as one of the few qualified radon mitigation professionals as of July 21, 2016 - there's only a total of 6 qualified in Fairfield County, so that's definitely a positive sign that we selected the right guy for our job.

Excellent and prompt service. One of Fernando's competitors first came out to estimate the job. The techs from that competitor decided that the installation would be too much work and insisted on installing the fan in the basement, not the attic, which is against code. I declined the competitor's proposal and contacted Fernando of Northeast Mitigation. He came within a day, figured out how to do the work properly in the attic as required, and charged less than his competitors. He completed the work that week with his son and the fan has reduced our radon levels to nearly zero. I will call on Fernando only to service our other equipment now. Great experience.

NE Mitigation was excellent. They were timely, efficient, and cooperative.  The work they did was great.  They also cleaned up afterwards, and put everything back the way they found it.  Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Fernando was very responsive - he found that in addition to a new fan, the system had not been installed properly and he had to reconfigure the piping to meet regulations. He was able to complete the job the same day. He also was very helpful in pointing out a few other basement items that could use tending as well as explaining the changes he made.

It was a little hard to get a hold of Fernando to make an appointment, but I persisted because
of his high reviews here. Once I did he was available immediately and I actually had the radon mitigation system
installed the same day. I appreciated his speed, professionalism, and at the end of the day, the mitigation
system is working, reduced from 12 to a very low number. Recommend.

We needed a radon mitigation system installed in our house and called Fernando who an did excellent job installing the system. Fernando and his son were very courteous, friendly, professional and provided a top notch level of service. The work was completed to a very high standard, and this was reflected in the subsequent radon test results which showed that radon levels had been drastically reduced after the system was installed. There was minimal disruption whilst work took place and the house was left clean and tidy afterwards.  Fernando has a lot of great reviews and this is totally deserved.  I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to all my friends.

First class service.  I called on a Thursday,  met Fernando on a Saturday morning and the system was in on Tuesday.  Straight forward professional service.   My basement radon level has dropped from 4.0 to 1.0.  Wish I had the system installed 3 years ago! Highly recommended.

Fernando is what every homeowner wants in a contractor or workman.  He was polite, prompt, professional and knew what he was doing.
He came to the house within a day or two of me contacting him.  He thoroughly explained the whole process of radon mitigation and subsequent follow-up testing and maintenance.  And, he was available to perform the work within a week of his initial visit.
Fernando showed up on time, went over the specifics of what he would be doing that day, didn't mind me watching part of the work, went right about doing his business, and was done on schedule.  He cleaned up the work site, showed me how he tested the system to ensure it was doing what it was supposed to be doing and then left, all in about four hours.
Be sure to ask Fernando about his Angie's List special bonus.
I would definitely use Fernando again if I ever had need to install a radon mitigation system in another house.
