She was highly recommended by a friend in my neighborhood right after I moved in, back in summer of 2010. I checked with other decorators and thought I would be in good hands, based on her proposal and my friend's referral. She does seem to have good decorator skills, but she seriously lacks the customer service gene. The problems I had were regarding many items of furniture, lamps, chandeliers and other decorative items I ordered through her, each at her 30% markup, involving long waits and charges for delivery, as usual with a decorator service. I figured her commission fee was for rectifying any quality issues that might arise - not so. Many items arrived either poorly constructed, or with obvious fabric imperfections, or with scratches or dents. In each case, when we discussed my concerns her first response was to try and get me to accept the item "as is". She did eat the replacement cost for one lamp, when pressed. In some cases the manufacturer sent replacement parts, but there were some items that required total replacement, which took months - during which time her attitude continued to sour. I was very dissapointed in her resistance to act as my advocate in handling these issues throughout my home. I worked with her for over 10 months. Numerous furnishings had already been ordered before the pattern of shoddy merchandise was established. I kept our interaction on a professional basis, but she did not. Toward the end she all but stopped responding to my queries regarding arrival on a piece of furniture that was back ordered twice. To top it off, because of a conversation between Cindy and my friend across the street (the one who had recommended Cindy), I lost that friendship just 4 houses away. A longterm painfully ugly situation all around. Buyer Beware.
