An estimator came out within a week of my first contact. He was on time, informative and professional. After meeting with him, I knew right away that I wanted Vent Masters to do the work in my home even though another estimate I had received was lower. Vent Masters was the only company that came out to the home to give me the quote rather than estimating the job over the telephone, and that did make a difference to me. I discussed the various options with the estimator, even asking about the other company's quote. He was very knowledgeable about the differences in fans between the two companies, and was helpful without being negative about the other company. I gave them a "B" for responsiveness because when I contacted them for an estimate and when I contacted them to schedule the work, it took about 2 full business days to hear back from them. To be fair, it seemed to be an extremely busy time for them. The installers came on time and were very professional and cordial. They worked quietly to the extent that was possible, and consulted me regarding the location of the fan and the switch. The work was done quickly and cleanly, and they vacuumed the carpet before they left. Both the estimator and the installers were extremely tolerant of and kind to my 2 1/2 year old son, something that is very important to me. The fan itself works beautifully, just as they described. The results of using a whole house fan (without the aid of an air conditioner) in the middle of August have exceeded my expectations. We have been quite comfortable, and probably will not need to have air conditioning installed. Additionally, the constant exchange of stale inside air for fresh outside air keeps the house feeling and smelling clean. Finally, the fan truly is quiet, a priority for me when choosing the fan. Quiet is a relative term, though, so I would describe the noise level as almost non-existent on the first floor (which is open to the second floor loft where the fan is located), and a low hum on the second floor. I reviewed three companies and their respective quotes before choosing Vent Masters and would absolutely recommend them to anyone for whole house fan installation.

We have an existing whole house fan and had an unvented two car garage. They put in soffit vents and ridge vents in the housr and garage, The result is a 10 to 20 degree drop in temperature during the day and an even greater difference in the evening. The house stays cooler and cools down quicker at night. The estimator said the fan we had in place was an excellent fan, should last a number of years and we should be able to hear it running more quietlywhich we do. An excellent experience.

Dana and his crew were very professional with great attention to safety and consideration of my request to minimize dust. Ceiling drywall was replaced, painted, and looks perfect.

He gave me a $125 quote over the phone and stayed true to this price. He gave me his card and brochures. He looked outside to see where the vent was going to go in and sat down with me to explain everything. He even showed up a little early.

We called to get several estimates on having a whole house fan installed. Out of the 3, Ventmasters was the only one who came out to the house to give the estimate. The others made the estimate based on the square footage of the home. We were glad to have an on site estimate because we already had an attic fan. Dana, from Ventmasters was able to look at the attic fan and where our existing soffits were and then give us an estimate based off of what was already there. He took the time to explain why we our attic fan was not helping much and how the additional soffit vents would not only be put in for the new whole house fan, but also improve the flow of air of the attic fan.Ventmasters were on time and very professional. They had me look at the soffit vents before they left and made one tighter at my request. After they left, we discovered the light in the hallway where the vent was put in, was no longer working. We called and their electrician contacted us and came out as soon as possible. We were very pleased with the work and their professionalism.

Attic fan installed (QuietCool) and attic vented per their calculations. Our attic had no existing venting to speak of so we needed a lot of soffit & roof vents, the guys also did a great job adding a hood vent for our microwave hood/range and rigging up a much needed booster fan for the dryer vent. They suggested re-routing the dryer vent for proper placement of the booster fan and now the dryer works exponentially better! The only problem I had was a communication issue between their estimator (the guy who planned the job) & the guys who did the work. I had made it VERY clear to the estimator that the south facing roof was not to be used for any vents as I needed all the space open for a planned solar installation. He said they could do everything on the north side. However, on install day, when I went up on the roof to check their progress I was very angry to find two 18" holes cut into my south roof & large vent caps installed. I brought it to the attention of the installers (Mike & Deryl), who stayed very calm and professional and said there was no notes or verbal information passed along from the estimator (they even showed me the work order). They apologized for the miscommunication and Deryl (who has previously owned his own roofing company- very knowledgeable) assured me that he could remove the vents and repair the roof so I'd never know they were there and that absent the instructions, the south roof was better for ventilation performance due to prevailing winds. So, he was very mindful of doing a good job, just word didn't get passed along from the estimator regarding my specific instructions. They returned two days later with roofing material to match ours and removed, reinstalled, and repaired the roof on the south face. Deryl was right, he did repir it so I couldn't tell they were there, and cross braced the cuts so structural integrity is there. They took care of the problem. Overall, I highly recommend the team at Vent Masters. They were affordable, honest, and did a great job! Also they were very respectful of our house and cleaned up well after each area they worked on.

Let me say first that this company knows what they are doing and completed their work efficiently and in a high quality manner. They were very patient answering my many questions on the day of installation and ensured that my wife and I understood how to operate our new fan. They arrived as planned at 8:30 am with their truck and all tools, equipment and fan needed to complete the job. Two or three guys went into the attic to prep for installation, another began cutting and installing the soffits immediately. All the guys were nice and respectful and made a point to clean up as they went. They brought in an electrician and he hooked up the fan using an available circuit and he moved a wired-in smoke detector for us. They finished everything by 11:30 as planned and by the time they left we knew we'd made the right choice to select Vent Masters. It has been about ten days since our fan was installed - every day has been in or near the 90's. We've hardly used the A/C as this fan does a great job at keeping our attic much much cooler! Now we run the A/C for just a couple hours a day (can't run them at the same time). Before getting this fan we could literally sit in our house with A/C going all day and still feel the heat radiating from the attic. The difference is incredible. Overall a great experience.

This is quite possibly the best contractor experience I have every had. Dana (the owner) made all of the initial arrangements with my husband after we visited their showroom in Lakewood. We did not decide on a unit until they had come out to see our house and see what they thought would work for the area we wanted ventilated. It was great because I did a lot of research on-line on types of whole house fans and features to look for, and they carried both of the brands that I was considering. They gave us an accurate estimate, and warned us that with our plaster walls, there could be some damage so they added the cost of that repair so that the estimate was an "over"- estimate. The guys who came to do the installation were professional and on-time. No issues there. There was some very minor plaster damage- so they sent out their plaster guy in a timely fashion. Shortly after the work was done, we called them with the news that our dining room light wasn't working- and that it didn't look like a short but with the close proximity to where the attic fan was installed, we were wondering if it was related. They sent out the same electrician who had done the original work. It turns out that one wire was shaken loose- through no fault of theirs- it just happened with the installation. They did the repair for free. We did not pay them a cent until all of the work was completed. Our attic fan works wonders and we couldn't be happier with the experience.

Of all the companies I got quotes from, this was the only one who gave me a detailed quote. The only one who actually evaluated my attic before quoting, and the only one who recommended additional venting with installation. When I read up on the web, I learned that more vents WERE necessary, so I knew right away that this was the only company who actually knew what they were doing. The price was higher, but they did a great job start to finish and we live our new fan!

We wanted to have the two attics of our church insulated. The company who bid the job strongly suggested putting in venting in the attic space to help cool it in the summer. I contacted Vent Masters in Golden. Dana came out promptly and gave us a bid. The larger attic space was difficult to move around in due to the ceiling rafters and it already had a couple of inches of insulation between the boards. Dana thought he could place vents much lower in the roof to help vent chases that ran down to the floor below and cool that area, too. However, when it came time to install, there was insulation blocking the chases, so he went to Plan B and installed fewer vents and placed them mostly in the attic space itself. He used one chase that was open. Dana was innovative and really looked at the building structure. He figured out how he could add a vent that would assist air movement through that chase.
