Outside Dreams Landscape Design & Construction

It went very well. Amy and her crew were great. We did have a little problem with scheduling only because the weather was bad, snowy or rainy in May. The flowers are blooming great! i like what Amy selected for me.

My house is 40 years old. When I was young, I put in 2100 square feet of flower beds and did the landscaping myself. As a result, the yard turned into a huge mess with over grown flower beds, lawn in sad shape, cracked driveway, etc. The entire yard really did look bad. I interviewed 6 landscapers and chose Outside Dreams. I cannot say enough good things about Outside Dreams. Amy was great to work with and had many good ideas. I was really happy with the design that she came up with. The job took about 2 1/2 weeks. The men worked very hard and were always professional. They were so nice my son missed them when they were gone. They even mowed and trimmed the yard before they left. They did a beautiful job. I now love being in my yard and looking at it. I am so happy with all of the work they did. I was very impressed with the quality of the work done (as were all of the neighbors who stopped by to see the yard). I am still getting compliments on my yard. I will definitely use Outside Dreams again because of the reasonable price and the quality of the work they did.

They did a fine job. They left before they were finished, but what they did do was fine, it was good.

We had four different contractors provide estimates for our yard. Amy was by far the most professional. She came for our first meeting and looked at the project, took measurements, listened to what we wanted and shared her thoughts as well. She told us it would be probably a week and a half before she could provide the design. She contacted us when she had finished and we scheduled to meet again. She brought her design and estimate for the project. My husband had some changes and she said no problem that she could do that and did it right there with us on her computer. There were several emails back and forth after that with my husband making changes. Amy was very patient with us and absolutely had no problem making every change we wanted so that we could stay within the budget we had decided on. My husband changed the price of what he wanted one more time and we finally signed the contract. They gave us a date that they thought they could start the project and we were excited to get started. Then they contacted us and said they could start earlier if that was ok with us and of course we said sure. Completely understand that there is always a chance that dates can change. When you work in construction, you understand there are many different factors that come in to play as to when you can finish a job and then start the next project. But we were very impressed with how they kept us informed as to when they could start. My husband made some changes again after he saw the layout of the patios, and Amy and Felix spent probably 3 hours trying to accommodate what we wanted. It did add some cost to the project as there would be a need for more pavers and grading, but they worked very hard to do it within a reasonable amount of money. Throughout the project, I would email Amy with a concern hear or there, she always responded promptly and the crew the next day would address whatever our concern was. We were really concerned about drainage as we sit on the lowest point of our neighborhood and most of the water from all the houses ends up in our backyard. They had to divert the drainage around a tree, so they dug all the way around the lower patio and installed a drain. All in all it took about two and a half weeks to complete. We were so impressed with not only Amy, but her crew as well. I told her that I have never seen people work as hard as they did. They arrived every morning at 7am and did not leave each day until 6:30pm. The only break I saw them take was for lunch. They would start wrapping up there day around 6pm and then spend the last 30 minutes cleaning up around the yard. I once told them they didn't need to worry about it, but Felix, one of the owner's of the company, said no, we always clean up. They were always doing something a little extra it seemed to make sure we were happy. They washed our grill for us and put it back on the patio. Felt bad, we have two dogs and they had to pick up dog poop a couple of times as well. I said I was so sorry, and they just smiled and said no problem. They noticed a sprinkler head in our front yard was broken (not a part of the scope of work they were doing) and fixed it for me. They would sweep up the sidewalk in front of our house every day. At the end of each day they not only watered the new trees that they planted, but also watered our existing trees and even watered a planter that had to be moved while they worked. I know I am forgetting some things, as it seemed like they were always doing more than would be expected of them. Very courteous, kind and thoughtful men that worked in my yard every day. Obviously, I was very impressed with Outside Dreams. I can tell you that at the age of 52, and having owned several homes in which we have had work done by contractors, I have never had such an amazing experience with any other company. My faith in quality work and integrity in business has been restored. You would be blessed to have such an awesome group of people take charge of any project in your yard!

Just want to add that their work, that was fixing positive drainage and prepare base for veg garden stood test of mother nature last month during heavy rainfall. UPDATE Sep 3, 2013: work done 2 days before scheduled and they did awesome job. more details coming ... UPDATE Aug 16, 2013: Amy visited our house on Aug 1st. In person she is very nice. We talked about the project and added few more things to the list. She was quick in measuring and quoting prices and now we are scheduled for work on Aug 28. I will try to post a detail review after that. UPDATE July 30, 2013 : I got the quote this morning. On July 29, 2013 I wanted to do minor landscaping around my house. There is an issue with the slope near our house causing water to drain towards the foundation. We are in major need of changing the landscape to cause the water to flow away from the house and to help prevent further settling of the foundation. Also, I was thinking of having a vegetable garden put in. I read excellent reviews and contacted them for quote for both maintenance and landscaping projects. I got quote for maintenance pretty quickly and I actually went ahead the cancelled my current service provider and hired them for maintenance. They were quick in taking over and since then are doing a good job in mowing, edging, etc. The only thing I was surprised to find out was that the maintenance did not include trimming of bushes. My lawn looks great but the yard looks a little ragged without the bush trimming. For the landscaping, things have not been good and extremely frustrating. We first talked about the landscaping possibilities on 5/21. They told me that they will take some pictures when they will come for lawn maintenance. I waited for few days after they came for routine maintenance. While paying my first monthly dues I mentioned again about the project and they said they will get back to me. After month and half I emailed them again regarding the project on 7/11. I got call from them and she assured me that this time they will take some photos and she will get back to me with quotes. Last Friday I talked to the maintenance people and asked if they have taken all information they need (including photos of the site) and he told me that he did. Since the end of May I have a nicely mowed lawn and absolutely zero progress for any of the landscaping projects. I have never seen a quote, a picture, anything and it is nearly August. I was hoping to have it completed at the beginning of the summer so it would have time to grow and thrive before the fall. I can only recommend this company for lawn cutting and nothing more. I will be seeking a new provider for the landscaping project and I may go back to mowing my own lawn.

I called Outside Dreams and 2 other companies to get ideas and quotes for my very overgrown backyard. Amy came out and met with me and we talked about some options. I really liked her ideas. It took about 2 weeks before we met again to go over the design that she drew ? well worth the wait! She had quite a few options and had lots of detail in the design - much more than the other 2 companies that I called. The estimate was over what I had planned on spending so we talked about what we could do to reduce the costs and still make it really nice. Once we had narrowed it down, we got on their schedule. The crew that came out was very courteous and cleaned up after themselves every day. They worked so hard in the heat! Felix, Amy?s partner, stopped by the project every day to make sure that things were going the way that they should and answered all of my questions. I love my new back yard, I will have them come back to do my front next year. These guys are great!

When I first called to schedule an appointment in June, I was dissapointed that it would be a month before i could get an initial appointment, but based on reviews I read, thought it would be worth the wait. I was supposed to meet Amy July 11th at 9 am. i spoke to Rita in the evening of July 10th to confirm - Rita assured me we were still meeting the next morning at 9. I took time off work to meet with Amy. The next morning 20 minutes prior to our meeting, Rita called to tell me that Amy was busy with another client and couldn't come out. She asked me to meet her later in the day, which I couldnt do because I had to return to work. There was no apology or attempt to reschedule. In all correspondence with this company, I felt they could care less whether they got my business or not. I will be going with another company from Angies List who came out promptly and seemed more enthusiastic.

I liked the owner of Outside Dreams Landscape Design & Construction when she came. They did a good job, but they had to adjust the sprinklers and they were supposed to come back and check on them and they never did come back so I was a little bit frustrated with that. They weren't supposed to adjust the sprinklers they sodded the yard and the sprinklers were already there and they were supposed to make sure it covered the yard and they came out once and changed the sprinkler head and it still wasn't covering and the grass was turning brown and they were supposed to come back and fix that but they didn't so I was a little frustrated.

I picked Outside Dreams from Angies List because of reviews from others nearby. It took a bit over two weeks to get an appointment with Amy, but she showed up on-time. We really had no clear plans for what we wanted done, other than to recognized that our backyard was an overgrown mess. After meeting with us, she told us it would take about a week and half to get the design back to us, and after she didn't contact us on the expected date, I wrote her an email. It is the busiest season for them, but with only the one designer and limited office staff, it's easy for them to let the targets they set for communications slip. That said, they were able to start the project 4 days earlier than expected, and once their guys were on site, the project progressed smoothly. Frankly, I've never seen a harder working bunch of men. Their english was limited, but I didn't consider that much of a barrier, we were able to communicate. These guys arrived on site around 7am, and often did not leave until after 6pm. Some plants that were supposed to have been transplanted from one place to another ended up being tossed out, but they were replaced with new plants, including a beautiful blooming Hasta twice the size of the one that we had. They completely transformed the back yard, hauling away two giant overgrown junipers and several truckloads of old river rock. It was near 100 degrees on several days, and the workers never slowed down, and always seemed to be cheerful and happy. With all new edging and beds, the backyard looks amazing. They spent a lot of time installing a new drip sprinkler system for the new beds and plants, and since the basic contours of the yard had changed, they also reworked the rest of the sprinklers to make sure everything was covered. In the front they removed several dying or dead trees, cleaned out the existing beds and trimmed a massive lilac bush that had begun to take over the yard, and gave us some new plants along the front of the house that improve the curb appeal. At the beginning of the project we were told it would take six or seven days, and they finished in six, right on time. Aside from a few bumps in timely communications before the project began, the quality of the work and the level of professionalism displayed by the workers on site was top quality. The finished project is something that will last us for years with minimal maintenance, exactly what we wanted. We couldn't be more pleased.

Installing a brand new yard from the very beginning is a very overwhelming undertaking. I did not even begin to know where to start. After my first meeting with Amy I knew I was in good hands. I had a few ideas but really not sure of what I all wanted or really where to begin. She walked me through the process and also gave me great ideas and some great "dos and don'ts". Once the crew had started it was amazing the transformation everyday. The Crew was there everyday and very professional and courteous! They finished in the timeline that I was given and answered all my questions and concerns along the way. They installed a beautiful paver patio, a retaining wall that made my back yard beautiful and all the plants, shrubs and trees. I would recommend Outside Dreams to anyone that is looking for a professional job from start to finish! Outside Dreams made my yard a dream come true!

Outside Dreams Landscaping did a wonderful job on our front yard. I would hire them again and recommend them to everyone. They re-landscaped our front yard, put in a block wall/flower bed, curved paver steps, paver walkway, & put in a flagstone boarder along with new sod and a new tree. They were courteous, professional, on time, and really easy to work with. Amy did a great design and was very knowledgeable. There was one block that was a little chipped in the block wall and a piece of flagstone boarder that the color was a little off and they fixed and changed it for me right away. I was completely satisfied with the job. Felix was great to work with as well and their crew was very nice and worked very hard.

I wasn't so impressed with the feedback I got from their person, and end up not using them because they weren't really good with the deal they're offering. They essentially wouldn't do it unless you were gonna do the landscaping from them and I just needed their design. I felt like they're a little unprofessional and rude.

A great initial consult followed by postponements due to weather delays and poor communication. Dates of services were setup without time commitments - leaving me to wait around all day. Service requests were not followed through, though the main office said "no problem, let me get you a quote". The people who completed the work were not prepared and had to leave to go to Home Depot. They also did not speak English, so it was difficult to be sure they completed the work requested.

Mowed Front & Back Lawns, trimmed edges, pulled weeds, and completely (and thoroughly) cleaned up - I only could tell they were there by my neatly trimmed lawn!

The service has been great. The job is done well and the yard is cleaned up nicely after service. Extra service of trimming all front hedges for $75.00 was done well at a fair price.

The work was fantastic. They did a great job. I gave them the parameters of what I wanted done and they did a good job of running with that. Good quality work. It was clean when they were done. They were not out of touch but I had to be a little more proactive then I wanted. They were right on time.

They are a great company to deal with. The communications that I had with has been very good. They are very professional. They seem to be doing a great job.

I got their answering machine despite calling during normal business hours, however I promptly received a call back. They informed me that they did not do call-out sprinkler repairs, but only service contracts so I did not schedule service with them.

Issues with the current job remain unresolved.

I was very happy with Outside Dreams and look forward to working with them again on future projects.

Outside Dreams responded within 1 business day on initial schedule request. They replied same day on follow up emails (3 different occasions). Amy and her team did a fantastic job. Will not hesitate in contracting with them again.

It looks great! THey have a great team that was very timely and helpful in making plant selections. They were good about staying on budget, and on time (despite irregular weather). 95% of the process was excellent. However, they didn't use a rototiller to turn up the dirt (they did it all by hand) so there have been weeds that returned in the lawn. But overall, now it's like having a vacation in my own backyard. I plan to call them to do a few things in the front yard soon.

Contacted Outside dreams for a spring yard cleanup from Angies Big Deals. The company called me back directly and we decided that with the snow on and off that we would postpone until the weather was better. They contacted me again about 2 weeks later asking how much snow I had. I still had quite a bit so I suggested we hold off until things dried up. They contacted me again (via email) telling me they would be out next day. Unfortunately my email put it in the spam folder. I also don't check my home emails very often so I was surprised to see them that day Thus my suggestion of giving both a voicemail and email as to when they are coming out. However, all worked out and i am overall very pleased with the job!.

The team was diligent hard working and extremely professional. They had a great work ethic. They were very pleasant to work with . I am considering them to do landscape work in my yard.

The work turned out great and we are very happy with the end result. The work crews showed up every day except Sundays over a two week period and really worked hard. I spoke with the crew several times with a few questions and issues and they were very nice and curteous. They hauled away all the trash and debris and cleaned up after themselves. We will probably invite Outside Dreams to do some work in our front yard in a couple of years!
