 + 3 moreThey were professional from the design to the implementation. I worked with Amy and Felix and they were knowledgeable and helpful while listening to what I wanted in the space. My yard was messy and a lot of maintenance, now it is a space I am proud of and am looking forward to the entertaining in the summer. I have since hired Outside Dreams to maintain the lawn to keep it looking as beautiful as it does today.
Description of Work: Complete backyard redesign, stone retaining wall, large paver patio, built in fire pit, framed and added rock around the outside of the yard. Added color and plants for a shade and sun garden. Resolved a water issue in one part of the yard.

 + 3 moreWe had Amy create a bid and plan for us to redo our entire yard. Amy was excellent in her professionalism and her plan was beautiful. However, her high end services were above our budget but Amy tried her best to work with us and get the price down. Unfortunately we had to go in another direction. Amy's plan really was the most beautiful and thorough thing we had seen :) She used AutoCAD to plan the whole yard with extremely precise measurements. And she supplemented the diagram with printed out pictures of the shrubery she would be planting.
Description of Work: Provided us with a landscape plan and bid. We did not end up using her services.

It was a little over our budget, so they worked with us to modify the plan so that it fit into our budget. They were timely on their work and our yard looks fantastic. Follow up has been great too!!
Description of Work: They met with us when we were uncertain how to landscape our yard (front, side and back). They came up with a design, and pricing (with different options), and worked with us to finalize. They implemented the plan, removing the old landscaping and inserting all of the new stuff.

 + -1 moreAmy came over to meet with us, check out our 1 acre, and see what we wanted the outside space to be used for. She then gave us preliminary plans. We liked her ideas and the layout that she suggested so we hired her team. She then came out with a multi-layer CAD plan and showed us the various phases of our landscaping project. She was as professional as any contractor that I have met with over the past 20 years. We bought this house 1 month prior to calling Outside Dreams and the prior owners had neglected the yard, fence, plants, trees, everything. Amy's team removed bushes and trees in the front. They put down ground covering and in the spring they will start putting in new plants and some boulders. They also put in edging, mulch and flagstones around our back patio and pool. When I asked for a change in the plans Amy was very accommodating and her team was out at my house in the freezing cold withing a day or two to put down more flagstones. Her team was always here sharply at 8am, they cleaned up every evening, and worked extremely hard the entire time. I would totally recommend Outside Dreams for landscaping, yard care, etc.
Description of Work: Amy, from Outside Dreams, met with my wife and I then gave us a drawing of what she would recommend for our yard. We loved her plan so we hired Outside Dreams to do the work.

 + 0 moreWhat we have here is a failure to communicate (and follow through)! I contacted the company in October 2013 to see if they would be interested in doing the work, and if they would provide an estimate. After some back and forth with Rita (the office manager), we decided to have Amy come to the house on November 5, 2013, with the understanding that if we were not at the house, to perform the estimate and contact us afterward. Rita agreed, and I sent photos and contact information to the company. The 5th of November came, and went, with no information or estimate. I reached out to Rita by email on November 11, asking if we had missed something, and was told by email on the 12th that she would find out and let us know. On November 19th, I heard by email from Rita that Amy was not able to stop by, but could stop by on Thursday (November 21). That day came and went, with not a word to this date. Wish them all the best, but I'll be looking (and spending) elsewhere. Update as of 1-28-14 (response to response from provider): Thanks for the reply, but I have no record of any phone call on November 21, and neither does Verizon Wireless.
Description of Work: Actual work completed - nothing. Planned work - provide estimate to repair paver stairs to main entrance of house.

 + -1 moreWe were new to Colorado when we called around to different companies for lawn care at our new home. Outside Dreams responded quickly and used Google Maps to provide a quote. This was the first time we've ever had a company do this and it greatly sped up the process. In the end they were most respondent with any questions we had and since we were unsuccessful in getting any other company out to give us a quote, let alone a competitive one, we decided to move forward with them. They are considerably more expensive that what we were previously paying in our prior home but the quality of work is good. Rita also makes sure to reach us if anything changes in the schedule, something we very much appreciate.

Description of Work: In summer 2012, I contacted the company for ideas/bids for an roughly 300 square foot area between the west wall of my home and a six foot privacy fence around my patio. A principal of the company, one Amy Cruse, arrived at my home several hours late. I explained I wanted a low maintenance, aesthetically pleasing area. She suggested a paver patio, with the area around it, covered in first with weed barrier, then cobble ( natural stones 2-3 inches in diameter). She took measurements and photos. I received a bid, with renderings. I accepted the bid but requested an additional 175 feet of cobble be delivered and only placed on the bed area to the south of the one originally bid; so as to create a more seamless unified look with the new work. I supplied the 175 square foot measurement, purposely over estimating by 20-30% in order to compensate for the irregular shape of the bed. I did not supervise the work but all seemed satisfactory. The paver patio looked good, as well the cobble. However the additional cobble did not even come close to covering the new bed area. I did not give it much thought as the rest of the work LOOKED They even buried a previously obtrusive down spout, arranging for it to drain beyond the 6 foot privacy fence. In November 2012, while cleaning fall's needles and leaves from the area, I noticed the reason for the sparse cobble coverage. Rather than informing me of a chasm between the bed the were hired to clean and cover with weed barrier and the privacy fence, then acquiring fill dirt to level it, the workers simply filled it with cobble. This resulted in damage to the fence due to the weight and pressure from all the rock. Via email, I informed them of the problem. The owner and her business partner arranged to come out. They never did. Instead a couple of non English speaking laborer arrived and picked a few pieces of the cobble from the debacle. I called Amy and was unpleasant, not threating her personally, but the future of her company. I then was transferred to her partner, informing him I would even pay for the work to be done properly. He said he would call in "a couple of days" to make the arrangements. I am still waiting!!!! In February 2013 the down spout they buried did not drain, clogged with ice and made my property a dangerous skating rink. I sent a certified letter requesting it be remediated, as well as a replica of the same via email. I still await a response. In short LOOKS GOOD may not actually be good. I retained legal counsel but then decided against "throwing good money after bad. rock

 + -1 moreIt was terrible. I thought it was a waste of money. It took me weeks to get her to schedule anything. It took her over a month to get back to me with anything. It was a disappointing service and it dragged on. There were no additional costs but there was no landscaping done. They came out to look and quoted me a ridiculous amount of money for a landscape design that I didn't agree to. Her design was nothing like what we have talked about. It ended up being a complete waste of money. I would not use them in the future.

 + -1 moreThe meetings with Outside Dreams owner Amy were always pleasant and she was very helpful in making suggestions for my new landscaping. Prices were competitive but not the lowest. Crew showed up right on time at 7:00 a.m. to start work. They were friendly and professional. Crew of 3 to 4 guys worked really hard and got the whole job done in less that 4 days. Did an excellent job of clean up. Plan to use this company again next year for "phase 2" of my landscaping plan.
Description of Work: Tear out and replace old stone retaining wall. Removed 5 large shrubs and large aspen. Replaced gravel. Planted several perennials. Put in drip system to water new plants.

At one point, due to circumstances beyond their control, my meeting started late, but the office called me to advise me of the delay. The plans look good and I am looking forward to the time when I can start phasing in the improvements. I liked working with the Outside Dreams team, everyone is polite professional and prompt.

 + 0 moreThe did a great job on design and were very punctual and professional. The also did the Pergola and built-in grill $10K for both. While they did a great job on the landscape and hardscape the grill and pergola couldn't even qualify as second rate. Everyone thought the pergola was the start of construction on a deck extension and that's the way it looked. It looked like unfinished construction work. The grill, instead of using stones that matched the house the used paving block with flagstone on top as there was also a eating/bar surface as part of the grill. The biggest issue is that when they cut down the flagstone they cut it flush with the blocks, no overhang at all and you could see the mortar (grey) about 3/4" thick all the way around. Also when they cut the part of the flagstones hanging over the knee space they lost the line and curved off so it was awful looking. I was going to make them take the flagstones off and redo them (being a construction engineer) and tear the pergola down. My wife thought I was being too h****** them so basically the did a little work on the pergola and left everything (what my wife asked them to do). I loved the landscape and hardscape and would ave them do it again but I hated the pergola and grill so much I wouldn't even walk out back to look at the lake view I paid for. Never can enjoy it.

 + -1 moreTOTALLY IMPRESSED! I live out of town and the work was being done on my mother's property so I was the "go between" with questions my mom had. Everytime I contacted Outside Dreams I received a prompt reply. Amy was wonderful in dealing with the changes I made as the project was being bid. I loved the design she provided so I could refer to it as the work was being done PLUS she supplied pictures of the plants they would be using so I knew what they would look like when blooming. Rita who worked in the office was always so helpful and got back to me with answers as the project progressed. The "crew" led by Felix! I have never had a better experience than I did with these guys. They arrived every morning at 7a and amazingly worked 12 hour days. They always had a smile on their face and would stop to show me, educate me, explain to me anything that I would ask. They receive an A+++ for going above and beyond. I would use them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to anyone that was looking for landscaping or fenicng. They will definitely be the company I call on any future projects!

There was excellent communication between Amy Kruse and her crew. Rita, the office manager, was also very helpful with the questions I asked. I am looking forward to having Outside Dreams re-do the landscaping in the back yard next spring.
Description of Work: Amy Kruse came to see the existing landscaping in the front and back yards. She made very helpful suggestions and sent a drawing of her landscaping plans. Amy is very knowledgeable, and she came up with beautiful ideas for the new landscaping project. After approving Amy's plans for the front yard, a team of landscapers removed a great number of overgrown plants, hedges and rocks. The crew worked very well together under the direction of Felix. The front yard was finished in two days.

The workers are very concientious when it comes to doing their job as well as clean up and trimming and landscape details. The office staff is very nice and I would recommend their services to anyone.
Description of Work: They are providing summer lawn mowing for 26 weeks on a weekly basis. This includes turning sprinklers on, 5 fertilization treatments and blowing sprinklers out at the end of a the season.

We had some great submissions that we really liked but what set outside dreams apart was co-owner Amy's desire to work with us and listen to us and what our needs were. We asked for a plan that included everything we wanted broken out so we could pick and choose based on our budget and perhaps do more next year. She did exactly that and also suggested areas that she thought we could do ourselves. We came up with a beautiful plan. The execution was perfect. The demolition was huge since we had everything removed. One thing we liked about Outside Dreams is that they have there own crews. I work from home and I can tell you they know what they are doing, work 7am to 5 pm, and are experienced and professional. We couldn't be happier with the result. It is an oasis and we have enjoyed it every day since. Highly recommend.

 + 4 moreAmy has vision and style. She listens carefully to what we want & creates a unified area of beauty & style. She has a partner, Felix, who manages the construction and a large, enthusiastic crew. We started with meeting several times with Amy; looking at pictures of her previous projects and projects in magazines. After 2-3 sessions, we all had the same picture in our minds and Amy put it on paper. We were pretty excited because it was a beautiful plan on paper. When construction began, we realized that what was on paper was transferred into reality. It was fun to watch our yard being transformed into a completely new look. This included a fountain that flows like a mountain stream. It has no pool to clean out algae and debris, so it requires no maintenance. When the brick stairs going out from the patio doors to the patio were finished, we realized the platform at the top of the stairs did not extend under the doggy door. We told Amy and worried about the cost of tearing out the brick stairs and rebuilding them, we didn't need to worry. Amy & Felix said they wanted us to be happy with the finished project and didn't add any additional charge. The project finished on time and turned out just the way we imagined it would.

 + 0 moreThey do a very good job. My only concern, not complaint, is that I would prefer to have the lawn left a little higher than they cut it. I have asked that they adjust this and they agreed to. They did allow a little more height for a couple of cuts but have since gone back to a lower cut height than I prefer. If it were not for the fairly wet summer season, I would probably be more emphatic that they cut higher. Overall, I would recommend their service as they are timely, do a very good job, and have made my lawn look better than it has since we moved here.

 + 0 moreTwo weeks later, after I contacted the sales person a couple times, the estimate finally came and totalled $8,000 which was 2-3 times higher than the 3 other companies I had bid the same job. I have no doubt Outside Dreams would do good work but there should not be that much difference in a simple landscaping job. When I saw the original estimate I went back to the salesperson and asked that they make some changes to get the job closer to our budget. I again followed up 3 different times to get that revised bid but it never came. I realize landscaping companies are very busy this time of year but I didn't feel, after I asked for a more modest proposal, they had interest in working with me thus they ignored my business. I would not consider Outside Dreams for any future work.
Description of Work: They showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of our current layout. They did a good job of providing suggestions and ideas based on what we told them we wanted done. I was given a ballpark figure of $3,000 to $5,000 for the work and was told I would get a complete estimate within a couple days.
