They did a terrific job installing top quality materials for underneath the composite decking as well as using top rated composite materials. Jim and his crew responded immediately to our call for an estimate, and put together a beautiful plan for rebuilding and expanding a small deck. He came in lower than other bids, without sacrificing quality. Their workmanship and time completing the job were outstanding. We've had nothing but compliments on the new, expanded deck. Jim, Premier Custom Decks and Outdoor Living provided the new design and build to replace our two, old separate decks. Jim's initial design provided the creativity we wanted - connecting the two decks with one larger expansive deck, interesting shapes and an "option" to add on a roof with one side closed to block the north wind and have the space more comfortable in fall and spring. We do like the finished product: new views of the front range and northeast Colorado Springs; the Fiberon Horizons Composite decking (not too hot or slippery when snow covered); the deck bump out with stone sides and top that accommodates our grill and acts as a barrier against the north wind; a fire hearth; lighting; the bronzed colored handrail w/ drink rail plus, a lockable gate. Regarding construction, we envisioned a complicated project. Not so, thanks to Kyle, who with years of experience, headed up the building project and worked daily alongside his crew. Jim was responsive to our questions during the project and took care of needed punch list items. In all, we are very pleased with our new deck. It exceeds our expectations and creates a new dynamic living area for our home.

The work went very well even though the weather was very cold. The workers were punctual and worked hard. Concrete steps had to be jackhammered and that took almost a whole day of very hard work. They finished early and on budget and Jim did some extra things for us for no extra charge. Our home looks so much better with the new deck and steps on the front and side porch! I would highly recommend this company.

From design through the entire build process Jim Velarde was great! he listened to what we wanted and designed a beautiful outdoor living space that is exactly what we wanted. He was always available and his crew and production was completely professional and of the highest quality.

Premier Custom Decks and Outdoor living is fantastic! We had an outdoor kitchen with lighting, granite, and stonework installed on our patio. Their work is gorgeous, durable, and highly functional. Working with Rod was very easy. He was an excellent communicator, was honest, and was realistic about quotes and estimated time. Great service and reasonable price. Jim and his crews showed up every time they said they would and did the work in a timely manner. Jim always was communicating to me about when things would happen (tear off, material drop off, construction, etc) and I always felt very in the know about what was going on. Jim and his crew were outstanding. They demolished our old concrete patio and replaced it with a larger, beautiful, colored, concrete (stamped) patio and walkway. The finished product exceeded our expectations. They started and completed the project as promised and left no mess behind.

I highly recommend Premier Custom Decks. Jim Velarde and his crew designed and created our new decks including a pergola with a glass wall to block the wind, sliding glass doors to block the wind and allow traffic and IR heaters. Our deck is usable all year and has become our favorite space. Our neighbors use their decks as a place to keep their BBQ grills. We use it for living, relaxing, entertaining, etc. The workmanship is excellent and the cost was about $50K less than "the other guys". We're very proud of our new decks.

Excellent! Premier Decks designed the deck based on my ideas and provided great recommendations to enhance the final product. Wind is an issue where I live and they recommended glass to block it! Now I am able to enjoy the deck without being blown to pieces! Communications about the time frame for completion were excellent and all questions/concerns were answered immediately. Crew always arrived as scheduled and were very polite and professional!

It worked out great. We couldn't be more pleased. We had had our deck extended by another contractor earlier and they did a terrible job. We focused on quality this time and Premier delivered. If you search their reviews like we did, they are mostly glowing and that weighted the most in our selection of Premier. They and all of their subs are very friendly, professional and skilled. If we could start over, we would still gladly select Premier again for the job.

We could not have asked for a better experience. At the start, Jim provided excellent and honest advice. He really wanted us to be happy with the result, even when his suggestions resulted in a lower price. The builders came when they said and finished ahead of schedule, even working through cold rainy days which I did not expect. They were great guys and obviously knew what they were doing. The quality of the work was top notch and we are very pleased and really enjoying our wonderful deck.

These guys have really raised the bar on what I can expect from contractors. From the very beginning when the owner (Jim) arrived at the designated time and promptly followed through with a thorough proposal, to the end when they finished a week ahead of schedule they were outstanding. The crew was professional and polite, they arrived early each day and left the site clean each evening. I would pop my head out once or twice a day to check on progress but never felt the need to point anything out or be anxious about what I saw. I was completely comfortable leaving for the entire day and not worrying what I may see or not see when I arrived home. Simply put, I couldn't be happier. By the way, their quote was among the best I received. Companies with an old-fashioned work ethic and professionalism are a dying breed, I am so pleased to have found this company.

Premier Custom Decks did an exceptional job designing and installing a complete replacement for our existing 2nd story 20+ year old wood deck that was deteriorating. Jim, Josh and Andrew truly brought experience to our deck project. We met with Jim and he listened to what we wanted, including a basic ceiling on the underside of the deck so we could use the patio below during inclement weather. His ideas including the thought to add just 2 feet out to our existing deck dimension really made a difference in our satisfaction. He then proceeded to show us examples, draw up a plan and proposed an all-inclusive beautiful deck before he left our first meeting. There was no hassle looking for finishes/material decisions or running around town deciding what finish, type of deck and components we wanted. He had all the information with him and even left us samples of the material. He warned us it was the busy time of the year (early Summer) and it would take a while to get to us. He gave us a rough estimate of when he thought he could start and he delivered. Well, our patience paid off. We now have a beautiful deck installed by one of his crews (Josh and Andrew). They did a great job and were a pleasure to work with during construction. The work site was left clean and organized at the end of every shift. It was obvious to us that in our case, Premier is efficient and strives to take care of their customers. Our experience with Premier was terrific.

Wow!! I was so impressed with Jim Velarde (owner) and his company! He was very impressive and listened to exactly what I wanted. Jim was very courteous, professional, and prompt with his price quote/plan. He took care of all the details in getting things set up. Once the work crew began, the site project manager, Josh, was easy to talk to and very hard working, creative, and professional. The guys cleaned up the area every day and took pride in their work. Amazing company. Jim came to our home, listened to our deck design ideas and quickly proposed a design that exceeded our expectations. When considering our budget Jim gave us choices to lower cost but still get the quality deck we wanted. They started construction a couple weeks later, Kyle and his crew showed up every day at 8 am and worked continuously until the project was complete. Throughout the entire process we were provided with updates and status. jim is a contractor that keeps his word, shows up on time, delivers top quality craftsmanship and communicates throughout the entire process. We highly recommend Jim and the whole crew at Premier Custom Decks and Outdoor Living!

The work went very smoothly. They were on or ahead of schedule in spite of rainy days. The work was definitely quality, as were the materials. Jim was a pleasure to work with and communicated well with us. Josh and Jackson were competent in their jobs, friendly, hard workers. Every morning they were here at the same time and left at the same time every evening, very dependable. The site was left clean, neat, no damage to lawn or house siding. It was a very pleasant experience and a job very well done! The deck looks great! I would recommend them to anyone.

Jim is a master at his work! His team of workers are friendly and professional and fast, they know their work! We were impressed with how quickly the work was completed from the tear down to completion. Never a glitch or excuse as to why they couldn't get it done. It was like clockwork from beginning to end. We feel we made friends that we could introduce and trust to others to have their outside living space done to perfection! The finished project is more than we expected. I am awed at the workmanship Kyle and his workers did to complete the plans Jim drew out for us. Anyone who says that they are expensive is looking for cheap labor or materials. Jim called us all along as the project went from one step to the next, no need to worry or question anything along the way. Our neighbor's are jealous of the completed deck and looking to hire Premier Deck and Outdoor Living do their projects.

Jim came out, listened to what we wanted and came back with very detailed plans for the left, rear, side elevations, engineered roof and deck framing plans. He made a couple of suggestions for lighting and showed us the color and material samples. Work started in early Feb of 2017 and ended in mid March. The crew was incredibly professional, hard working, and pleasant. They really know how to put up a very nice deck and you can see the quality of their craftsmanship in the little things. Demolition of the old structures went quickly, and the new one went up without any work stoppages outside of those forced by weather. They were here when they said they'd be here and there was considerable communication during the project. We were never left with wondering what was going on or the next step in the project. We were impressed with how neat they were. At the end of the day, they cleaned up the tools and tidied up the site. They were careful not to let trash get loose and were very conscientious that we were living here while construction was ongoing. The finished project is simply stunning. It looks integral to the house, as if it was part of the original construction. When the inspector came out for the final sign-off, he walked around the house to see it, and his first reaction was "wow". So yes, "wow", and it was done the right way.
