We took the samples home and picked 1 we liked. Several days later I returned to the store to return the samples and start the order. The sales associate we had been dealing with was not there so I left the samples with 1 of the other sales associates. She told me she could finish the sale if I wanted, so I had her look up this supposed formal quote. It was not in their system at all. Then she asked if I would like her to re-do the order to see how the "numbers" come out and if they're close to what the other sales associate quoted us. How could they not be the same for the same merchandise? 1st of all, I believe a good portion of the $$ cost of their furniture is their commission. Secondly, the first associate lied to us about "locking in" the price for us, he never locked in anything lol. Just another deceptive used car sales tactic instead of just being honest with us. We smelled a rat here and decided we didn't want to overpay for our furniture, just to give the smiley salesman a big check. Our $30 was not returned for the samples. I went into the store in person with my deposit receipt to get our $30 returned to our account. The salesman had an attitude and told me he would have to go check and make sure the samples had actually been returned, basically saying "I don't believe you, you must be dishonest". He came back a few minutes later and said he couldn't find them and that the female saleswoman I gave them to never existed. I explained they had been returned the previous week to a female sales associate with a nametag that said "Mary". He claimed that nobody by that name worked there. I told him I was upset that they keep such horrible records and nobody in their store seems to be able to keep notes on our account in their computer. He actually told me to chill out and not get all uppity or something to that effect. I was shocked! This guy has some nerve giving me a ton of attitude especially over $30. Why in the heck would anyone want to steal furniture fabric samples?? He claimed before I left their store he would call the salesman we were working with to see if he knew where they were....He called back a while later, said he talked to the other salesman and everything was "cool". He asked for my credit card info to return the money. Never apologized, was still rude as he could be. Guess we'll see if we get our money back when I check our bank account tomorrow. After that experience, they lose out on a $4200 sale and we will not order from them and advise everyone we can to steer clear of that place! Deceptive pricing (or lack thereof) and very very rude staff who wouldn't know customer service if it reached out and smacked them. (unless they think there's a big commission check in it for them) What a bunch of jerks.
Description of Work: My wife and I were considering a purchase for our home entertainment sectional. We were charged a $30 deposit for some take-home samples and we were told by the sales staff they would do a formal quote to "lock-in" the current sale price.

We apologize for your experience. When you returned the fabric sample, you spoke with Laura. At that time she offered to refund the $30 deposit. You declined the offer and chose to keep the deposit on account. We did not properly record the fact that you had returned the fabric sample. That was our mistake and the cause for confusion when you returned a week later to get your deposit refunded. If you experience any problems with the $30 refund to your credit card, please call us directly to rectify. Regarding 'locking in' your prices - the pricing that Mark provided to you upon your initial visit would have been, and still will be, honored for 30 days. We do not engage in deceptive pricing tactics. Again, we are sorry that you had a less than exceptional experience with our store. We appreciate your feedback and will take steps to improve our service going forward.

Jessica and Kathy provided outstanding decorating advice/suggestions. They came to the house, did complete measurements, made beautiful recommendations, brought art work to the house for us to consider, and more. They were professional, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. They were great fun to work with, and they really listened to us and made very personal recommendations. They are amazing!

When I called the store for a quote I was told it was $19 dollars an hour with the parts covered by a lifetime guarantee of free parts. When the serviceman finished the job, which took all of about twenty minutes, he gave me the bill that said I owed them $90. I paid it then called the store to dispute the charge. The manager told me that was the charge for a service call and had the attitude that if I didn't like it. tough. I told him he just lost a customer to which he seemed to care less. No wonder the parts are free. With the service charge they can afford to be. This small repair cost me almost a third the value of the chair new. The value of the chair now is probably less than the service charge because it's 15 years old. If I had known the amount prior I might have considered putting that amount towards a new chair because I'm totally satisfied with La-Z-Boy's quality and durability. What a stupid way to do business.
