DO NOT USE Linnertz to install or refinish your floors. You'll be sorry!!! Had this company refinish our floors in 2016. Did a mediocre job at best. Scheduled them to return the following fall after our counter top installer dropped a slab of granite and damaged a section of the floor. The day they were scheduled to do the work they were a no show. The excuse....one of the sanders broke. Okay....so they showed up the next day...late. The excuse this time....confusion with the address. Hmmm...perhaps the installers haven't heard of Google maps?? The work was to be done in one day. Took them two. Excuse...again, broken sander. Did a LOUSY job!! We also had them fix two spots from the previous refinish! Called and complained. The owner's wife scheduled the owner to come last Thursday to do the repair work himself. Called Wednesday to confirm. Supposedly he wouldn't be able to make it until Friday. He was to arrive at 8:30am. Provided my husband's phone number IF there was any change. Friday morning rolls around...8:30am...no show.....in fact, no show AT ALL and NO PHONE CALL!!!! Are you kidding me? Who runs a business like this?? I work for an architect and we have designed two new houses specifying over 5000 sq ft of hardwood each. Guess what company did NOT get a recommendation! In fact, I have told them NOT TO USE this company!!! Luckily, I am smart enough NOT to pay any contractor until the work is done to my satisfaction. Here is a list of excuses you can expect to hear: Broken machinery Flat tire on vehicle Scheduling conflicts Broken down vehicle Confusion on address ...etc....etc....etc.......

Very disappointed, they had to come back 2 times after the initial job to fix some major problems. They resanded only part of the original area to fix one of the mistakes and it is very obvious that this was done. The floor is uneven and there are deeper sand marks along some walls and corners. They had very little respect for my time and my house. I had to repaint many of my walls because they splattered stain and scratched the paint. When all of this was brought up to the manager he simply said he would talk to his guys about it. Not very satisfied with how the finished floors turned out.

We contracted to have a hardwood floor installed in bedroom. Wouldn't answer their phone and when we visited the store they were always closed. (no hours on door.) After the third trip, the office girl ( a Linnertz) said her dog had been sick. Installers left large holes in the drywall and did not fix. Floor was not sanded by doors leaving a groove. The installers smoked and chewed leaving their spit and buts on the driveway. Poor job! I tried to contact Matt, the estimator, and the store but my e-mails and calls were ignored.do not use them if you want a quality job!

Horrible. Do no use this contractor. They hired a tile person to do the wood work big mistake. First the riser were put in vertically instead of horizontally, stairs were not put in right. There were large gaps on the sides and sides didn't match, wrong grade of hickory was used. B. Linnertz said that stairs were not installed correctly. We finally had to have the stair removed. During the tearout, after they said we were wrong, I heard the owner and other worker talking. The worker said that it was put in wrong and stated how it should have been installed. Wood floor has loose spots in it and to have someone come in and try to nail it down better. The tile person ruined both the finish on the tile and hearth so we had to have those refinished by another contractor. The never showed up when they were supposed to and were very messy. After 8 weeks of torture, we finally had another contractor finish the job...took them 3 days. It was horrible experience.

WORST CONTRACTOR WE EVER HAD Met with Linnertz October 10 2011, for estimate and bid (received bid 10/11). We removed all furniture floor installation. 10/14 Linnertz removed damaged wood floor. We assumed that Linnertz had put us on their schedule for installation. Linnertz returned late October and was surprised that we were ready to go. We wanted the work to be completed by Thanksgiving- we had 23 guests arriving. Owner stated that it would not be a problem to be finished by Thanksgiving. Nov. 13, tile guy showed up at 10:30 am to demo the tile was suppose to show up at 8 am, stated he didn't know that. Tile guy had no clue what he was suppose to do so we sent him home. Rescheduled installation to 12/5. We put plywood down to cover the gap in the wood floor. Completely moved out by 12/4. Linnertz said they were be there at 8 am 12/5 to start. They showed up about 9:30 am. Then the nightmare started - poor quality work; didn't put up dust barriers, trashed the inside of house, no transition between tile and wood (1/4" gap), travertine installation was uneven, building of stairs was horrid, put stair riser in vertically instead of horizontally, used lower grade wood than contracted, put too much sealant on travertine then tried to remove it with a tile stripper, walked across floor with sealant on their boots leaving boot marks that had to be sanded out, put equipment on newly finished floor, dumped extra grout and thinset in lawn and on decorative rocks, left garbage in garage, stringers cut too short and they tried to piece it together. Blamed us and the structure of the house for the poor quality of work. Finally got tired of the arguing so we contacted District Attorney. We just wanted them out of our house so we could bring in another contractor and get it done. February 23, Linnertz removed stairs they installed and walked away - we paid them for the tile and wood floor work. Took us two weekends to clean up garage, lawn, cupboards, and interior of house from what Linnertz left behind We had another contractor come in install new stairs(superb quality) put up dust barriers, renailed some of the new flooring that was installed, resanded and refinished all the floors($500) in a week; had travertine sanded down and refinished($500), had to have carpets and vents cleaned. Linnertz was consistently late, unresponsive, disrespectful, poor workmanship, poor quality. Update: November 30, 2012: The 100 Sq ft wood floor section that Linnertz replaced 6 months ago creaks like crazy (rest of floor is fine) and with two boards, the ends are starting to come up about 1/4 inch. Thankful we used another contractor for the rest of the work.
Description of Work: Remove 100 Sq feet of damaged wood, install new wood, sand and finish all existing wood floor (625 Sq ft); remove carpet from stairs install new #1 hickory stairs, and landing; demo entry tile, install new tile in entry, around fireplace, and hearth. Clean up and remove all debris
