Safelite AutoGlass

With some difficulty getting ahold of Safelite AutoGlass I was finally told by Safelite auto glass that it's against company policy to put owners glass into a vehicle. Even though the dealer had the glass, ordered the glass and we needed it installed at the dealer. This was cash out of pocket and did not even require an insurance claim. However they were simply unable to try to find any way around this company policy. Being paid cash for a dealer's OEM glass being put in at the Car dealers was apparently just too atypical. Long story short, my paying cash for glass replacement at a dealer is against company policy if the customer had to pay for the glass ahead of time. Not only did they did not know how to execute a cash replacement at a dealer's Service Department but they made no effort to find out if there was any other way to get it done. This was simply too complicated because it was not routine and it was clear they were glad to get rid of me. No condolences and my effort to escalate the request and get them to talk to the dealer was not an option either. Worst Customer Service in a long time. In contrast I went to the dealer and picked up the glass and had it installed within the hour at my local auto body shop. Fortunately it fit in the back of my car. The dealer also took notice. They want my business going forward on this new car service and the Service Manager said since they have to rely on a third party glass installer that they were going to find a local installer who was affable, available and adequate technically. And hungry enough to find a solution to overwhelmingly difficult problems such as mine. The install itself took less time than the run around I got from Safelite AutoGlass.

Very well. They called a couple days in advance to see if I could change my appointment from afternoon to morning. This was great and I happily accepted the change. I was sent an email saying Nathaniel would be my tech. I got a call from Abraham saying he was on his way so this was a very small fail. Didn't bother me a bit. Abraham arrived and got to work immediately. He noticed a small scratch in the new window and offered to come back another time or they would reduce the price a little bit. The scratch was such that it was out of my sight line so I took the discount. All went tremendously well and Abraham is a big asset to the company. Very professional and friendly.

The first installer damaged the piece to be installed and tried to cover it up. The cover-up failed a few weeks later and it took forever to get installed.

Had my insurance company set up an appointment with Satellite to replace my windshield. The soonest they could get me in was in six days. The estimate was well over $400. I didn't know if the estimate was reasonable or not, but I knew I couldn't wait six days for a new windshield because the crack was spreading rapidly. I called another company with positive reviews and their estimate was half of Safelite's and they could have performed the work that day but I needed to wait until the next morning due to meetings.

No problem except somebody on the phone there tried to get me to buy new and somewhat expensive wiper blades, saying that the old ones could've been damaged and might scratch he windshield. I found this hard to believe and think it was a ploy to increase their profit. Person B denied knowledge of such a hard sell. Other than that, the new windshield fits well (sometimes they don't as I found out the hard way).

I went to Elite and they were great.

I found them on Angie's List and selected them because of the high ratings and discount of $20. I would have "lost" the $20 if I had them come to my place to fix it so I took it to their shop for no extra charge. I made my appointment online and was happy with the variety of appointment options. On arrival I was amazed at the cleanliness of the shop, especially the waiting area. It is large with TV, drinks, bathroom - lots of conveniences for customers while waiting for repairs to be completed. I was greeting quickly, the keys taken, and work completed within half hour. Personable techs, which I appreciate. And I was surprised that I was given an additional discount to what I received through Angie's List. Last night I was telling several dinner guests (visiting from other states) about my experience and they all chimed in that they use Safelite/Elite for their auto glass needs for the reasons I desribed. They are all extremely satisfied and keep returning, as will I.

My side passenger window was shattered by a rock. I scheduled an appointment for the following morning. I arrived early for my appointment only to find out that it would take over an hour to even get my car in. 3 hours later I was able to leave. The cost included cleanup of the broken glass, but there was still glass all over my car and rattling in the door. Further, they did not properly replace the door panel. I had them come out to my house to get the glass out of the door and replace the door panel properly. The technician was late, did minimal work, was rude, and failed to replace the door panel correctly (it fell off). Neither time did Safelite/Elite vacuum under the floor mat or the seat. After twice "cleaning" the car, I still had glass all over the interior. I cleaned the broken glass myself. I had my mechanic clean the rest of the glass out of the door and replace the door panel correctly.

There have been no leaks and he did a good job. When I called and I talked to the lady she had requested a higher price, but ended up later talking to her boss to lower the price to what other estimates I got.

It went smoothly from start to finish.

They came to my work - they were a couple hours late in coming because it was really cold but did have lots of communication about thier time and plan. After it was installed the seal was not complete so it had a whistling sound, they had to come out again to fix it. The temp was right around freezing so this may have had something to do with the poor sealing.

I attempted to combine this warranty repair on our car when I was having mobile service for windshield replacement on my truck. I was told that due to the multiple issues with the car windshield under warranty, the technician would look at it when replacing the glass on the truck and make a decision to repair or replace the car windshield under warranty. The technician who arrived to replace the windshield on my truck was not notified at all by his dispatcher of any warranty work needed on the car. He looked at the car but had no time or paperwork scheduled for an additional job and suggested I take it to the shop. So an opportunity to save me time and get both fixed in one appointment was wasted. He was very polite and did a good job on the truck. I then called Elite/Safelite to schedule the warranty repair. The customer service rep at first claimed I hadn't had the windshield replaced at Elite/Safelite on the 2007 date I indicated. He became angry on the phone when I disputed this. When I gave him the invoice number he found the record, indicated something about the "merger" and then transferred me to another sales rep. I had warranty paperwork that indicated lifetime warranty and free in-shop chip repair. This 2nd phone rep told me that since the Elite/Safelite merger, they are not honoring the chip repair part of the warranty and I would have to pay for that portion. I arrived at the shop, the receptionist also indicated they would fix the air/water leak under warranty but that I would have to pay for the two chip repair as they are no longer honoring that part of the warranty, and that regardless, that part of the warranty was only good for one year and was expired. No-where on my warranty paperwork that I brought with me did it indicate any time limit, so after the receptionist got angry and the manager indicated he "Didn't want to argue with me anymore" - they agreed to do all the work under warranty. So far so good with the repair but they obviously use a lot of intimidation and "saying no" to avoid honoring past warranty work, and don't have a customer-friendly attitude, both in the shop or via their customer service phone service. I have had many windshields replaced/repaired at Elite/Safelite but won't be going back after this experience.

Easy to reserve an appointment, they came to our home on time, no surprises and the work was fine. This company is now part of Safe Lite Auto Glass.

Excellent quality of service and installation. Due to miscommunication about car model, they did not have the correct glass in stock but obtained it within an hour.

My experience was very pleasant. I barely had to wait 24 hours for the visit from the time of calling to set this up. The technician did arrive within the last 5 minutes of the window of time that Elite gave me for when they would arrive. Otherwise, there have been no issues with the new windshield.

The technician came to my home. He replaced the cracked windshield with a brand new one. He was pleasant, answered all of my questions and seemed to really enjoy his job.

The company was very great. They were extremely helpful when we had to pick what we wanted done. They did not take advantage of our lack of knowledge in any way!

THE SERVICE WAS EXCEPTIONAL. THE GLASS WAS DAMAGED ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND ELITE CAME TO MY HOUSE ON MONDAY MORNING TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE. THEY WERE IN AND OUT WITHIN AN HOUR AND THE CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY DRIVABLE AGAIN. IT ALSO COMES WITH A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. THE SERVICE PERSON WAS GREAT.

THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THEM, WHATSOEVER. THEY DID A GREAT JOB ON REPLACING MY WINDSHIELD ON MY ESCALADE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM FOR AUTO GLASS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT.
