Description of Work: G&L got out of their truck with a group of Illegals that couldn't speak English. They pranced around and put all the sprinklers on max out flow with no concern of spray pattern damage. Anything above that was an additional charge. The supervisor would not answer a direct question. Angie list sucks. You recommend companies that over charge and only do half the job.

Description of Work: This was a big deal I had purchased. They did a tune-up of my sprinkler system.

Description of Work: The company put in new landscape and hardscape in both the front and back yards. All vegetation was removed, new soil was put in and then replanted with new greenery. A pathway with steps leading from the street to driveway and a barbecue area was also constructed. Sprinkler system was replaced as well. G & L was very professional and was always available by phone when needed. Their employees always arrive on time and were very courteous and helpful.

Description of Work: I bought coupon for discount services. I needed to have my sprinklers adjusted, which they did do but more needed to be done. Since the coupon didn't allow for this it wasn't done and they didn't offer to more even for an additional fee. I will need to make another appointment for additional work

Description of Work: We had landscaping for a good portion of both the front and rear yards. We wanted low maintenance, low irrigation landscaping. A designer that works for them came and took our needs down and then they returned a "rough" estimate. At that time we only were thinking of this type of landscaping for the front yard. They came in at $5,500, which was significantly less than the price of another person we had who also gave us as a rough estimate, for basically the same area, and whose work we liked. We then went and looked at some of their references, including a beautiful yard way up in the hills of the San Fernando Valley. The persons we talked with had very positive things to say about them, so we decided to take a chance and go with them--including expanding the work to the rear yard. We were not disappointed. They said they would be done with everything, except for killing the existing lawns, in a week and they were done in exactly a week. I was completely floored since construction people are notorious for not keeping to schedules. The head of the company was on site twice a day, very available and a nice guy on top of it--very easy to talk with. We modified the plans with their landscape architect and she was very responsive to our requests, including putting in rabbit resistant plants. The crew, which was short by one worker because of a surgery among his crews, was very hard-working and the final landscaping was just beautiful, everything we hoped for. So, I would give 10 thumbs up, if I had them, on all counts for this company. The owner even made a point of saying that there are usually issues with new landscaping and to feel free to call him anytime--a big plus that he brought it up, not the other way around. When all was finished the charge was exactly the one given in the original estimate. The owner didn't try to extract a penny more. In fact, I had to convince him to let us pay extra for a broken sprinkler timer which he replaced. So, in summary, we are very pleased with the work, design, price, and keeping to the schedule.

Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for our sprinkler system tune up. I did not find them to be helpful. They set my sprinkler wrong and it ended up going of twice a day. My water bill was much higher because of this. I felt like I could have done everything they did for the money I paid.

Description of Work: All sprinklers were checked per special. All new sprinklers were placed around grass. Also two hoses were spliced and digging to find source of water was necessary in large brick planter.
