American Vision Windows

From start to finish, it went well overall. Troy was our salesman and he was excellent to work with. He first came out to our home to give us a demo and estimate. We decided to visit their showroom in Simi Valley too to make our final decision. They deserve in A in sales. After ordering and paying the deposit, their friendly measure tech came out to get the final measurements and he did his job correctly seeing how they all fit. The company also took care of all the necessary city permits for a reasonable fee (depending on your city, it is best to have them pull permits because if anything goes wrong, the city will hold the company liable instead of you). It took 8 weeks from ordering the windows to the installation date which was reasonable and within their time frame. The job took 4 days because two windows required new construction. One to meet egress and a garden window replacement. All the retrofit windows went in the first day. They did excellent construction and stucco work. Even the city inspector commented them on their work. A couple minor complaints is that one of the installers broke a window, but accidents happen. They ordered the replacement immediately and it was in about a week later. During the install I definitely recommend being on site and watching them from time to time because I caught a couple of minor mistakes before they were made permanent. I can't put my finger on what they were exactly as I'm writing this almost 2 months later but I definitely remember it happening. To end on a positive, the installers always arrived on time and were very courteous of my requests to pull the alarm cables, re-install the window blind hardware (they won't touch the blinds though which is reasonable), and were mindful that I had my cat locked in one of the rooms. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants to work with a reputable company.

He was great to have work on/in my house! Beautiful work, upgrades the whole house! When we can, I'd like to have him change all of the windows! I WILL use him again! A+++ work!

They got here on time, prepped our floor, covered our furniture, and were careful to make sure that they did not get glass anywhere in our home. They worked diligently, but did not rush. When the windows were completed they went over the workings of the windows, as they wanted to show us that each window was installed properly and that they were all in working order. The workers were friendly and polite and took great care to care for our furniture and floors while working. We will definitely use them again when we are ready to install other windows.

We ordered high quality windows and they came in at the lowest cost of all quotes I received. It took over a month to get my order but all went as planned. I am very pleased with the product and customer service.

The salesperson is pleasant but we were a little tired out by this supposing profit tool (to indicate how he is pricing the windows the best he can) that he used. The price probably could have been better. With that said, the salesperson was actually very responsive when we wanted to change part of our order. He quickly met with us despite he had some non-work issues that he was handling. He also notified us when he was running late and we appreciated the communication. The wait for the installation was longer than expected. When I called toward the end of the original time frame, I was told they would call me later... but only on a later week after the original time frame. With some persistence I got the company to schedule us within the original agreed upon timeframe. The crew was very good. Everyone, from the person who does the measurement to the installers to later the problem correcting person, was professional and helpful. Yes, everyone speaks English and that is very helpful. They went over the order with us at both measurement to make sure we would get what we ordered. The installers worked in the rain without complaints. They also discovered one of the walls had to be re-built because of water damage. They could not complete the work on the same day but returned later in the week to complete the work. When we discovered one of the screens was broken on a later day, they quickly sent someone to fix the problem as a courtesy. (We told them we suspected it happened during the window installation because we actually had no one working in that part of the house after they left.) The windows and sliding doors are also working out nicely. The windows are some of the highest end vinyl windows we have seen and glide very smoothly even though we have big windows. The sliding doors are very good but the windows are definitely the superior products. And as a follow up, we received a call about how communication could have been improved after our review was posted. We are impressed with the company's commitment for improvement, especially our review was largely positive. We would like to work with this company again on other windows in the future.

Met with Alex on 10/17/13 to have American Vision quote replacing all (14) of the windows in our house. Did not intend on committing that same day but I was buoyed by the ratings on Angie's List and I liked the Anlin windows that were presented to us. We negotiated the price from $11,766 to $11,000. Not a huge difference from the original estimate but seemed fair. As I speak with neighbors and others who have replaced their windows, it seems as though our price was pretty reasonable. On 10/23/13, German stopped by to do final measurements. Was told that we could expect our new windows in 4 - 6 weeks. After 4 weeks had gone by and not hearing from American Windows, I asked for an update via an email to Alex. I received a phone call that day and was told that the earliest available install date was 12/09/13 which was 7 weeks after the final measurements were taken. I was not very happy with this as we had a badly damaged bathroom window and bad weather moving in. The scheduler was apologetic but said that she could only make note of our desire to have the install done sooner and would let me know if another job got cancelled. True to her word, she contacted me about an opening on 11/27/13. Unfortunately, this was a day before Thanksgiving and with relatives visiting was not going to work for us. Props for trying to work us in. The installers arrived on 12/09/13 at around 8:45 am and were done at around 2:30 pm. These guys worked fast and obviously knew what they were doing! I was very impressed with their coordination, consideration and professionalism. They took a break for lunch but other than that, worked without hesitation the whole time they were at my house. Unfortunately, the bathroom window that was the one window in the whole house that REALLY needed replacing was the one window that was not measured correctly. They temporarily fitted the window that came in as best as they could and put in a rush order for a new window. Not happy with this development but, what can you do? The bathroom window was replaced 3 weeks later. Same courteous and professional team that did the install previous. All in all, a good experience and will recommend American Vision to those who ask.

everything went fairly smooth. the sales guy, armen, was good, responsive and willing to make it work. the installation team was on time, worked cleanly and they were on time. the one thing that i didn't appreciate is that they didn't explain how the zero-finance loan works and i was a bit shocked when i received a mailer with a credit card and an $8,000 balance. i had to call a few times to get to the finance people who explained how it all works. Overall, we're happy.

Replaced bedroom window and bedroom sliding door. Very pleased with the job. Will use them again when/if necessary.

The thing that bothers me the most about this company is that their advertisement of "we started this company because we weren't happy with other vendors out there" - the impression is that it is a family company. That is quite the opposite. They are just out to make a sale and the guy who came out was SO VERY PUSHY that my husband had to help him out the door. He wouldn't take no for an answer and was obnoxious about his sales pitch. He was selling like a car salesman "Wait, let me check with my manager to get you a better deal - good today only". OMG, I was ready to slap him. We had already had a quote from another company and they came in at TWICE the amount! My advice to you, go to the friendliest, nicest, efficient and knowledgeable company called "Progressive Insulation & Windows" located in Chatsworth, CA. No pushy sales pitch. The crew that did the installation was respectful, polite and did a quick and excellent job in one day! Don't fall for the massive advertising of American Vision Windows - they are terrible.

The Anlin windows went great. They perform well and the price is good for the product. However, we also ordered shutters. American Vision does not fabricate or install their own shutters, and this made the process take an incredibly long time. That time lag was the main negative. However, American Vision was always responsive and easy to deal with. That was very nice.

I would use this company again straight off the bat. Products and installation is impeccable. Price is good - no endless haggling - they will come in and give you a quote without the sales tactics and pressure of other companies. The only part where this company can improve is the back-end / administration. That seems a bit unorganized, and we often had to call a couple of times to sort things like extra orders out. Bit overall we are really happy - what counts is the product and how it is installed - and that is super super super.

Installed new windows in my home. Excellent professional service

It went excellent. The windows improved the look of my house tremendously. It also reduced the dust and the noise compared to what I had before. The workmen were neat and clean. It was a messy job, but they cleaned up well after themselves. They had terrific financing and I am happy with the entire job.
