American Vision Windows

Their customer service was unbelievable. The young lady who first came to my house and laid out the work. To this day, she still contacts me to see how everything is going. They've done some other smaller jobs since then for me. They get in and get the job done. They're very customer service oriented. They had a large crew of 14-15 guys and knocked it out very quickly. The owner contacts you by email to say 'congratulations, your windows are almost here.' Then, I needed some painting done. They gave me good information on the company. They cleaned up after themselves. They were thousands of dollars below the other companies I checked.

I called and spoke for 20 minutes. They had someone local call me back. ANother 20 mins. Then no one called me for 24 hours. THen I called and left a voicemail. Then someone finally called and said they don't repair windows.....unprofessional.

I contacted American Vision Windows through Angie's List and then I researched them on yelp. I met with Don Adams, my sales guy who is also a general contractor. I had a good feeling the first time I met Don and when he came back for a follow up meeting with me and my partner, we both liked him. American Vision installed windows, about 18 or so, and I am glad to tell you that the entire process has been top notch from sales through job completion. Travis and crew of 7 showed up promptly, each greeting me introducing their names, all polite, professional, and genuine. Installation went as flawlessly as anyone can expect from a home improvement project; meaning that I only found a couple of spots where the installation crew missed when cleaning up - I honestly cannot ask for much more. We are very happy with the windows as well, made by Anlin. The difference was noticeable just as Don explained it to us they would. Not sure about energy efficiency yet, but I am optimistic. We hope to do more business with American Vision as they seem to have a sweet spot for quality, professional service, and price.

We started with 1 Analin window to see how we liked the look and style. After a period of time we had 3 more installed, then rounded it out with 11 windows and a door installation. The windows included a large picture window plus 4 that were etched with a Queen Anne design. AVW service was as advertised. Very professional and left a clean and neat work site. Pricey but worth it for no headaches.

The sale's person showed up on time and had a great attitude, but got a bit pushy when I told him that I could not signed any contracts yet because I had other companies coming by to show me their product. On the kitchen window I have a wide piece of patio wood beam that previous sale agents from other companies told me to trim it like 3 inches so they won't have any issues when installing the kitchen window and I asked the American Vision Windows if anything around the kitchen window is going to get in the way of the installation and he said no. Anyways I ended up going with American Vision Windows because of the good reviews even though the price seemed a bit high. On the day of the installation they showed up on time and were professional but once they finished installing the windows I noticed that on 2 of my windows I was able to see the old window frame behind the new window because the new windows were not wide enough to cover the old frame, and for the kitchen window I noticed that the installers cut the window frame to be able to fit it under the wooden patio beam and it was really crooked and noticeable and they didn't even asked me if I was ok with it before they did it, so I told them I didn't want the window like that so they told me they have to order a new window but before they come to install it that I need to cut the wooden beam enough to fit the window, which was what I wanted to do in the first place but the seller told me it was not necessary. The sliding doors were installed better but not great, they ran out of crown moulding so they could not finish my master bedroom sliding door and watch out because at the beginning the installer wanted to leave the old crown moulding from the old door, I had to tell them to replace it with new crown moulding. I also noticed that they did a very messy job with the sealant around the frames, it does not look professional. So after they were done they told me they have to come back another day to replace the 2 bedroom windows with bigger windows to cover the old frame, the kitchen window, and to finish up the crown moulding. It took them about another 2 weeks for them to come back and finish the job, I have to say these installers that looked like contractors were way better than the in house installers they sent the first time, I was much happier about their work. Two weeks later one of the window stoppers broke and 2 out of the 4 windows got really difficult to lock so my wife called American Vision Windows to come and get those issues corrected and they told her Anlin windows was going to be contacting us within 2 weeks, a whole month went by and nothing, so she called again and they told her they need to speak to the person who takes care of those issues but that he was busy right now and that he would call right back, it took him about 2 days to call back and right now we are still in the process of dealing with these issues. So far I regret doing business with this company not only because of their expensive prices but for their bad quality of work, professionalism and responsiveness. I do not recommend this company to anyone, maybe all these happy customers did not check their windows after the installation but I expected far more from this company.

We are very happy with everything. They were prompt and answered all our questions. Also took care of the issue with the lead paint.

We got our new windows installed last week and are extremely happy with them. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Don Adams was our sales guy. When he spoke with us the first day, he was very up front about everything and recommended the Anlin Del-Mar windows, which we went with. He's a great mixture of casual and professional. Definitely an expert on American Vision's window offerings and we were confident he was recommending the best choice for us and our house. It was a good sales pitch and although American Vision was the first of 3 companies we were going to talk to, we went with Don immediately and canceled 2 more consultations from smaller companies. Lifetime warranty on the windows and according to Don, even a 5-year transferable warranty should we sell our house....we didn't feel like the smaller companies were going to be able to offer that. A few days later, Christian came out and did the detailed measurements. He took his time and answered a few more questions from us. Having the windows made took around 4 weeks. But I called towards the end, and found that the windows were scheduled to arrive on a Tuesday, and they set up the install for the following morning. On Wednesday morning, Guillermo and Luis(?) came to install the windows. They were excellent. On time, professional. They asked a few questions and answered some from me before they got started. Installed 1 window and had us look it over and test it out. Then after we approved it, they moved on to the other 5. Install was roughly from 9am to 3pm. They did a great job installing, sealing, and meticulously cleaning up room by room before they moved on to the next window. So the windows have been in for exactly a week and it definitely stays cooler inside the house for longer periods of time. They look great!!, and when we open them in the evening to let in the cool air, they open so smoothly. Also, and this is a huge bonus for me. We get so little outside noise coming in, compared to the old windows. It's nice and quiet. Thank you Don Adams, Christian, Guillermo, Luis!!!

Workmen left vinyl residue all over my driveway! When I stopped them when they were leaving and asked them about it, they paused, said to me, "You need to power wash it," and then got into their truck and left. In addition, the glass in several of the windows need to be cleaned - one of which requires a 10-foot ladder to reach. Furthermore, as we were inspecting the upstairs windows, we found that some installation debris was left on the roof outside the window installed. After posting on Angie's List, in addition to the problems mentioned above, I found more debris in my backyard left on the ground, tables, and flowerbeds. No one followed up with me from American Vision Windows to see if I was satisfied with the work until after posting my initial review, I was contacted by American Vision Windows twice. First, Sergio from American Windows contacted me and asked if he could come by to see the problems. He came over to our home, and took pictures of the problems. He told me that someone would come to clean up the mess left in my backyard and remove the debris left on my roof (he took pictures of both areas). Since my husband had already cleaned up the mess left in the driveway, all I could do was show him the pictures I took of the vinyl left in my driveway. I was shocked to find out that the workmen who installed the windows gave me incorrect directions to clean up the vinyl. Sergio told me that I could have just swept up the mess (which the workmen were supposed to do), but the installers told me to power wash it - which added to the mess. Sergio assured me that someone would contact me immediately to arrange the clean-up. In addition, he would request a gift card toward a future install. Almost two weeks went by before someone else from American Vision Windows contacted me on a Friday. She was unaware of any of the promises made to me by Sergio. She promised to call me on Monday to arrange someone to remove the debris on the roof. Nobody ever called me back. I have since cleaned my backyard, but the debris is still on my roof. I guess I will have to wait for a strong breeze.

I am sooooooo happy. My new windows were installed yesterday. I contacted American Vision because of the reviews on Angie's List. I ordered because of the adorable Cybill who came out and gave me an estimate and explained exactly what I could expect. Yesterday was the installation and it went perfectly. The installation crew were professional, quick, and left my home spotless. Thank you Angie's List for another great experience. Thank you American Vision Windows for my beautiful windows!!!

The salesman, Alex, was excellent. He was totally prepared to explain the differences between American Vision and other company's windows that we were considering and had samples of other products for us to compare. He was also flexible enough to make changes to my order when I decided on a different type of screen material after we had already signed the first of the paperwork. The measurement guy, German, was quick, precise and efficient and his estimate of the approximate number of weeks before installation was right on. On the day of the installation, five guys showed up right on time to do the job: Jim, Israel, Dan, Danny (Gomez) and Joel. They were absolutely wonderful! They were so quick and efficient and worked so well together as a team we were truly amazed. They were cheerful and meticulous and knowledgeable about the installation. Any of them were only too happy to stop what they were doing to answer a question for us. First they removed all fifteen old, decrepit windows and discarded them. Then, working smoothly together, began the installation of the new windows, frames and screens. For a job I thought may take a very long day into night or two days even, they completed the entire installation in only SIX HOURS!! We were given complete instructions on how the new windows worked and how to care for them. The windows are absolutely beautiful! And, since we live in an area that gets extremely hot some days and very cold on other days, and sometimes extremely windy, the efficient construction of these windows should save us a fortune in electric bills and cleaning up after winds blew dust and dirt into the house. I cannot say enough good things about the installation team or the beauty of the windows. After the team packed up and left, it was if they were never here. They left no mess at all; everything was cleaned up and taken away. Yes, we really didn't want to spend the money, but it's probably the best investment we've made in the house. With a lifetime warranty, it is soooo worth it. This was probably the best and most efficient home improvement project we have ever experienced.

The window replacement crew showed up promptly. At first I thought that 3 guys were not enough to do the job, but I was wrong. Those guys had a great plan on how to tackle each removal and replacement. We have a 2-story home and that was not a problem when they had to use the double ladder or go on the roof to access a window. It was a cloudy day with rain threatening, but it only sprinkled and did not deter the process. They started on the windows upstairs and then moved downstairs. The workers were polite, talked very little while working. They took their breaks and went back to work. I watched most of the work being done. I saw how they removed the old window and prepped the opening for new install. They sealed up the windows on inside and out. They use the window screen that keeps out the 'no see-ums insects'. When they were done, they showed me how to remove the screens when needed, and showed me how to remove the sliding window if I need to clean the outside. Prior to the install, the sales person that out to explain the company windows is no pressure. He simply explains the background of the company, and what customers can expect for installation. He did a test of our old window by putting a heat lamp next to it. We could feel the heat where we had to remove our hand because of how hot it got. He then showed us the difference with the new window. We did not feel the pressing heat only warmth. That was a seller for us. He took measurements on the windows we wanted to replace. We did not replace our sliding door or bathroom windows. The sales person looked at our sliding door and noticed that it was a newer window type than our other windows and suggested that we not replace it. I appreciated his honesty. There was a 2nd person who came out to re-measure the windows. His purpose was to make sure that correct size is built before installation. When the windows are done in the factory, the company office receives notification and then schedules the home installation. We have noticed a huge difference in the noise level. We live near a main street in a rural area where motorcycles drive by. With our old windows closed, we could still hear the loud mufflers. We had to turn the volume up on our TV. With the new windows, the noise is drowned out, and is very low in comparison, and no longer annoying. I don't hear a lot of the noise that we used to hear before new windows. We also noticed that heat stays longer when our woodstove is running or the cool is retained when the air conditioner is running. We are pleased with our new windows. It is now over 1 year, and I wanted to wait before writing this review to make sure how our new product is performing.

The crew arrived on time and got right to work, they were all very friendly and answered all the questions that my wife and I had, and have never done this kind of thing before we had a lot of questions. they started at about nine and were done by about 1:30 they cleaned up all of the debris from the work, after a while maybe a week or so I got a call asking if we had any problems or concerns, and were told to call if we ever had any problems or questions. So to recap good people, great product, good price, great work and an outstanding fallow up, for my money if your looking to replace your windows American vision windows is a great place to start, we went with AVW and were glade we did.

They were professional and their prices were competitive, we just decided not to replace the windows.

I want you to know how wonderful the staff was that came here to install the windows. They were polite; they were informative; and they bent over backwards not to interfere with our daily activities. The windows are beautiful and are so easy to work. The crew made sure that we were able to open and close and pop them out and pop out the screens before they left. UPSIDE: Windows installed really quickly on the day of installation DOWNSIDE: Trash left all over the front and back yards. Cooler left behind on front lawn with contents strewn across lawn. Not the biggest hassle but strange considering the salesman made high claims about the cleanliness of the install teams; even going so far as to use a bizarre example of a technician who was suspended for two weeks for leaving a piece of trash at an install. Brackets from two separate blinds taken out of window frame and either tossed in trash or taken by technicians. Wireless alarm sensor removed and replaced with non functioning wire sensor as an attempt at covering up the missing wireless sensor. Black sealant leaking out all over patio door about a week after install which has ruptured the seal Zero customer service and follow up. Lifetime guarantee is useless if you can't get someone to even return your calls after leaving 6 messages over three weeks. Firm not interested in fixing the problem whatsoever DO NOT USE.

My appointment was for 700 pm at 300 they called and said the person showing up called in sick and they couldn't show up . They wanted to give me a estimate over the phone which I thought was odd but I said ok . they had me take some measurement's and then told me it would be 3300 dollars and asked if I wanted to proceed . I was already annoyed at the faced they flaked out on me ...if you listen to the commercials on KFI 640 they pride themselves on showing up on time. I told them how could they even ask that I don't know what kind of product they were selling me and does the price cover trim , colors , installation , what kind of glass options etc. etc....no brochures. I told them I was getting estimates from Milgard, Pella,Siminton. He told me to get the estimates and then call them back if they were competitive. So I hung up. 10 minutes later I get the same phone call from another person same conversation.......I told her what I thought about this process she apologized and wanted to set up an appointment a week out I said ok not sure I be here ...then half hour later I get a phone call from the person that was supposed to show up and he told me he was behind and in L.A. and was stuck in traffic at this point I unloaded on him and the whole process he apologized and was going to squeeze me in tomorrow and call me back in half hour .......never heard back from anybody....the fact they lied he wasn't sick just stuck in traffic they could of been honest it understandable .....If they are this flaky about giving me a estimate what gone happen if I ordered their windows ?. I have 7 Pella windows installed 2 years ago . But don't really like their French door slider Simonton has a pretty nice one and Anlin which this company uses look nice from their web site but not sure about using American Vision to install them. I hope my case is a exception to how they do business as how the run commercials stating how their on time, how and why the owners stated this company updated 6/10/14 Since my last review of American Vision Windows they contacted me and apologized for the problem they asked me to give them another chance as this was not representation of there company. I did cause I really liked the Anlin windows . They came out on the time we agreed on time and gave me a really good price (maybe because of the mistake) better than the Milgard price which was what we decided on , so I signed the contract with American Vision Windows. A week later they sent a guy out to remeasure the sliding glass door and they were on time and very polite . A few weeks later my slider arrived and we scheduled a time. They called the day before to confirm and showed up on time . There installers were great they laid down drop clothes inside and out very good at cleaning up and showing me how the slider worked . had a spot were my dogs chipped some stucco away from the wall and he had some left over and patched it for me . I am so happy I went with American Vision Windows the French door slider looks great (we had French doors) and even though we had a bad beginning they were quick making it right and did a absolutely awesome job I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I am sorry that I am not good with name but the people involved should have there names mentioned as they were great so I apologize for not including their name but the company knows who they are and will hopefully let them know what a good job they did and the good review they received

Window replacement project went without a hitch. Meeting the American Vision rep for a quotation was low pressure - unlike a previous meeting we had with another large company. The quote from American Vision was about 1/2 that of the other company. The windows took almost 8 weeks to manufacture. That did not seem unreasonable for custom-made windows that fit the existing openings "like a glove." We were warned about the timeframe at the time we placed the order and had no problem with it. We received three e-mails (videos) from American Vision between the time we placed the order and the time we had them installed. The e-mails were helpful and informative. They answered all the questions we would have had about the project. It was like they were reading our minds by answering our questions before we had to ask them. As good as the preliminary transactions went, the actual installation was the most impressive element of the project. The hard-working crews were serious (yet friendly), punctual, polite, professional, and skilled. It was obvious that each of the four crew members knew exactly what they were doing. I saw no signs of "on the job training." The crews laid down rosin paper under each installation site and covered furniture with plastic drop cloths. They were careful not to damage anything in the house. The house was as clean, if not cleaner, than it was when they arrived. They took time to answer questions without appearing bothered. At the end of the installation, they cleaned every window so they were spotless and crystal clear. They also demonstrated the operation of each and every window - and they all worked perfectly. The entire installation of all 16 windows and the sliding glass door took less than a day. The appearance of the final result was better than we hoped. Aside from color variation between the new windows and the old trim paint color, the windows are aesthetically fabulous. They look like a natural part of the house. The craftsmanship of the installation is top notch. We are extremely happy with the entire experience.

Horrible experience!!! After they had my money they cared less about what happened. We had 3 very large windows and a patio door replaced. They manufactured one set of windows incorrectly, forced the installation anyway. This made little cracks around the frame which they offered to patch supposedly while we wait for the correct window to be manufactured. Had to keep calling them to get info. First time they brought the replacement window it was not assembled properly so the installer refused to install it. Next time they came out they dropped one of the windows and broke it. Frame still has cracks, they have not offers to refund or discount anything. My daughter and son in law are on leave because of a new baby and have had to reschedule with them many times. I do not recommend them. I had high hopes for this company because I really wanted a USA company with products manufactured in the USA (which they are). This is a large condo complex and I am the first to replace my windows. They missed a huge sales opportunity because I am on the condo board and we were looking for a "standard" for other owners. Very disappointed it will not be American vision windows.

Our experience with them was great. They were really good. My wife dealt with them mostly, but they were easy to work with and responsive. We had a garden window from them, and it went well.

Very efficient, very fast, product installed well. They had enough labor on the job to work very efficiently. One minor criticism was with the calking. Some was overdone and not uniform and smooth. I alerted the manager, but the problem continued. Also cleanup could have been a bit better. My old windows contained lead-based paint and calk and a lot of chips remained after the job was completed. There was a lot of sawing of PVC trim pieces and the sawdust from the plastic was not cleaned up very well. All in all I would recommend them. They run a well-oiled machine. Always very courteous and upbeat.

The whole experience was great. They draped around the area to keep any dust or debris from the living area. They worked quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. They installed bumpers for the sliding door and screen door which were too long so the doors wouldn't open all the way. I called and they came out promptly to adjust. I love the double pane doors with argon gas. It really cuts down on the heat and cold.

They were good. The quoted price was okay, but we decided that we are not going to do the windows yet because we are doing a bunch of big projects right now. It is a good company. They knew what they were talking about. They brought samples and all that good stuff. The price is right in line with everyone else.

The sales representative showed up on time and was presentable. He was eager to make the sale and his pricing was close. I was able to negotiate with him to get what was the best price. I did have 3 other quotes. About 2 weeks after the purchase a detailer came out to verify the sizes of the windows and what would be required to perform the installation. We were told that the windows would be 4-6 weeks for manufacturing and delivery. Once the windows arrived at their office they scheduled an install date with us and the installation crew showed up at the scheduled time. This is were things went BAD. The installation crew of 4 guys seemed to be in a hurry to get the job completed in just one day. Instead of taking the time to carefully remove the windows and heat up the existing sealer and gasket material in the old windows, these guys just broke the old glass. Now I would have been fine with this if they set up a containment area in each room around the window but they didn't. Glass was flying everywhere. They did get the job completed in one day and gave it their best shot at clean up. After the crew left I visually inspected the installation only to find several problems. They damaged the window sills in a couple of rooms. As part of the contract they were required to pull the existing alarm wires through and leave them for the alarm contractor to repair. On one window they pulled the wire through on the wrong side of the window, the side that the window slides to. I had a hose reel next to the sliding door and rather than them just removing it from the wall they screwed it into the molding for the new slider. It was not an acceptable installation. The last item was the glass. We are still finding pieces of glass 4 months later. We found 1" long pieces of glass on our couch, smaller pieces on the beds and in the carpet. There have been many pieces found on the exterior of the house including on the patio by the pool. I sent an email to our sales rep and included pictures of the glass and damage to our window sills. I did not get a response for 2 weeks and then I sent an email to the manager. Turns out the sales rep has his email printed incorrectly on his business card. After the email was sent to the manager, I received a call from the sales rep within a day. They had a field supervisor at our house to look at the issues with a day or two. They scheduled a date to come back out and make the repairs and clean up. They made the best attempt that they could to clean the glass. I wonder if we will ever get all of the pieces. A month after he was here we still find pieces of glass. They repaired the holes in the trim to the slider. Most people will never see it or know about it, but I will always know that it is there. The damage to the window sills was patched but I had to paint and some of it was covered when I installed new window casings. I am satisfied with their attempt to correct the issues but I am very frustrated that it happened in the first place. It took more of my time to watch them and make sure that things were properly corrected. Time I should not have had to spent. The quality of the windows is very good and they have made a noticeable difference in the temperature of the house. Plus they look and work much better than the old aluminum windows we had before.
