They replaced the roof over the den because it was leaking. After a heavy rain the den roof was leaking in the same places. Gilbert sub-contracted out the roof work. The roofer claimed it was the gutter installers and the gutter installers have claimed it was the roofers. Gilberts suggested I pay someone 500 to have the leak found. I hired them to repair leak, so it should be taken care of.
Description of Work: They were general contractor for a large remodel project.

Response from Gilbert Enterprises Inc
The review is wrong on many accounts. First, the price was already pre established as we walked into a broken contract between our client and the first contractor she hired through an organization that was providing government low interest loans to remodel homes in the LA district. The organization required another contractor provide a bid also. The home owner selected our company based on the "price" and the description of work being provided for the price. The government loan program required items such as HVAC and plumbing to be a required repair to qualify for the loan. This owner wanted everything redone without enough loan funds or personal money to do it. The truth is we are a highly successful builder and every year we take on a "give back" project. This was that project in 2009 and this lucky owner received thousands of dollars of free construction through our firm as well as countless hours of free advice helping her work out her differences with her prior contractor. How could our price be anything but an A+++. There were no change orders or price increases on this job. There simply was no more money to ask for such a thing. We took on the project knowing we would give much more for "free". We were on the job daily and on time. We worked non stop. The loan company and city building and safety both inspected and approved our work. We received major praise from the lender's third party construction management team and to be clear they required that the owner sign off to her satisfaction on each and every area or we would not receive any payments. This management team went on to ask our firm to take on the many more projects pending loans as a pre-qualified contractor. We of course received our payments from them because we went above and beyond and completed our entire contract terms. Unfortunately the owner is harsh in her scoring because she wanted more than she got from an overly generous contracting firm. The small section of roof replaced and the roof leak discovered after completion were two separate areas and our contract and her funds did not cover the second area. She is wrong in saying we went back to repair this roof. We returned to do an inspection as to where the leak was coming from and in the end told her she would need to pay to repair a new section. She did not wish to pay for the work, so in the end, she placed demands that we come and repair for free and we responded to her with firmness from a sound legal position. Sometimes this is interpreted as unprofessional and unresponsive. We were happy to do all we did for this home owner and we are saddened that the generosity is met with such ingratitude. We are happy to say our other "give backs" have been extremely rewarding and this home owner did not stop our last three years of being able to "give back" generously to the community.
