It went pretty well. Work took about two weeks and quality of the work was excellent. Very happy with the finished product He did more than I asked, i.e., added mulch to several areas that he felt needed it, and installed drip systems in the vegetable beds. Price was exceptionally good based on my bottoms-up estimate..

He is fantastic! He is a very sweet man.

Khiem was great! he was the most competetive in pricing and did a FANTASTIC job. we could not be happier with the results. There was a weekend of really high temps which started to dry out certain spot of hte new sod, Khiem cam back several times to make sure there was enough water, and he ended up replacing teh spots where the grass was dying. Highly reccomend. We'll be using his services agian for some hardscaping work in the future.

I don't recall what the estimate before as it was awhile ago.

Mr. Dac was super knowledgable, responsive, reliable and helpful. We told him exactly what we needed. He gave us additional ideas. When we needed some things built the gentleman he brought in to do the building was highly skilled. When we wanted an undulating brick border around our beds he brought in a gentleman that was amenable to our ideas and he did a beautiful job. Mr. Dac was flexible when we wanted things changed. When we needed help with something (retiming our irrigation unit) he would drive all of the way from San Jose to Alameda to help us. I will definitely use him again and was super happy with all that he did.

The quote was the lowest we got and we couldn't be happier with the result. We'll definitely use him again if we need help.

I called several cement companies but in the end only DAC was interested in a small job. Khiem wrote up the estimate and sent it to me in a timely manner. He was very professional and easy to work with. His team arrived pretty close to the appointment time on the day the work was to be done. They were efficient and cleaned up after themselves.

It was very easy to work with Kim. He was so friendly and very straight forward regarding cost and time. We added a few things as the project progressed, and he was happy to do them. Everyone who worked on our yard was very nice and professional. I have and would recommend them.

He came the next day but haven't sent back an estimate after 10 days now (too small a job?). He mentioned that he's very busy but didn't decline the job. I'd expect the guy to just tell me on the phone whether he's going to be busy for the next 6 months instead of coming out, taking a look & don't reply. I'm glad we didn't proceed any further. Since then I looked up 3 others from a local magazine & all 3 came back with multiple responses.

He gave me an estimate, and told me that he was going out of town and as soon as he returned, we could schedule the work. He has scheduled the work numerous times, and never shows up when he says he will. When I call him he never picks up the phone. I leave messages, and he never returns them. The price of the estimate was higher than other people, but because of his high ratings on Angie’s List, I chose him over the other people I got estimates from. I have tried to call him at least 10 times with no success of getting the work done. I would really appreciate some common courtesy, and if he doesn’t have time to do the work or doesn’t want to, he should call and let me know.

Ok. There was a noticeable language barrier leading to some mis-understandings and the company was not the most responsive. Although they are doing our landscaping currently, we are weighing other options.

The work went off very well. There was a certain willingness to work with the client at all time. They were flexible in making changes. There was not an attitude of nickel and dime. I would not go so far to say that they are bad. They tended to be a bit more hassled. It is good but it sort of pushes them to consider that all items are hit and outlined and timings are all set. There needs to be a little more follow up. I would use this company in the future.

It was fine. He was an honest person and he gave a good estimate, but I was looking for something a little different. I think he is motivated and bright, he showed up on time, and he was interested in the job.

He was pretty nice and he gave me a good estimate, it was just that I needed it to be done faster than he could do it. He was prompt when he came out. The price he quoted was less than $10000. He returned the call quickly and also came out quickly and gave me an estimate.

Kim told us the job would take 3 - 4 weeks, but it did take closer to twice that amount of time; this was o.k. with us as we were in no hurry. Kim is NOT a designer, but will do exactly what you ask for, so it's best to have detailed plans for him. He followed our plans exactly and changed anything we didn't like, often immediately. We did go over-budget, but this was because we asked for many extras not included in the original estimate; Kim always gave a fair price. His crew, though not large, was extremely hard working, often staying for 12 hours. Kim would come over pretty regularly in the early evenings to check on the work and talk to us about it, which we very much appreciated. He was always easy to get ahold of and very responsive. I would definitely hire him again.

Their price was higher than the other ones. We looked at their reviews on Angie?s list and called them. I will probably use them again for an estimate.

They did a fantastic job and our new garden is thriving. I found DAC through Angie's List. One of the other reviewers said that even though the owner Kheim does not seem to speak English very well, he understands EVERYTHING that is said to him. Kheim is a very gentle, honest, and warm person. He does what he says, and more. When we decided to make a few additions that went beyond the original plan, he gave us a very honest bid. I highly recommend Kheim and DAC Landscaping.

We were referred to Khiem Dac from Angie's List. He came over and took a look at our plans and walked around the yard. He came back to us with an estimate in a pretty short time that was very reasonably priced. Once we agreed to his contract he started work right away. His team was very hard working and efficient. There were a few misunderstandings about exactly what was on the plans, but we always worked it out. The yard turned out looking very nice - we had a few neighbors ask us who did our landscaping. We are very happy overall with his work. If something ever went wrong (only a few small things went wrong) Khiem would come back and fix it with no questions or hassle.

The main issue is that I had to follow up twice with them, it took about 2 weeks to get the quote whereas with everyone else it only took a couple of days. The communication was very poor. He was very nice when he came by and gave some great advice, but other than that it wasn't a great experience. It was also odd that his pricing was so much lower than the other bids which made me question it.

Khiem and his crew are professional. He doesn't do design, but if you have an idea or rough sketch, you can get quality services for a good price with DAC. He did not know the plants we wanted to plant very well, so you might want to consult your local nursery or hire a designer. But in terms of installation, he's a good value. We changed our mind a couple times along the way and he worked with us. He still comes back to check on the irrigation system. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat because he's professional and reasonably priced compared to the other landscapers we got bids from. The price went up slightly because unforeseen things came up (old sprinkler system had to be totally replaced, and we changed from step stone to flagstone).

I got a number of bids and was about to abandon the project because they were so high (between $55,000 and $85,000). Then Khiem came with a much lower bid. I felt much more comfortable with him than I had with the other contractors. I visited one other project he had done and it looked great. So we decided to go ahead with the project. Khiem uses mostly family members, and everyone was totally pleasant and reliable. They arrived on time, worked really hard (sometimes when it was really hot), and always cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day. Khiem has a heavy Vietnamese accent, but don't be put off. He totally understands everything you say. Lots of people have asked me for Khiem's card since the work was completed. It looks really great! My husband now says he is happy to drive up to his own home because it looks so nice. Khiem also comes by for occasional sprinkler repairs, with no charge.
