George was extremely helpful in deciding what to use, and`even gave us guidelines on care of some plants in our yard. His crew worked diligently and were not obtrusive. His quotes were competitive and there were no "unforseen" add-ons. It was a pleasure having them work for us and we would not hesitate recommending him to anyone considering using him for a project.

George Hesse helped us to find the ideal design and size for the deck/patio and made a fair price offer. He was polite, very professional and showed remarkable work ethics as did his entire team . They really lived up to the expectation. They worked careful, precise and took the time to do it right. They also cleaned up the place carefully afterwards. The project was supported administratively in a very efficient way. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and we were assured that they would come back in case we were not satisfied with something. In summary it was one of the relatively rare cases when one is really happy with the outcome of a project. We can recommend North County Deck and Patio without any reservation.

The project was done professionally, on time and within budget. More important to us - George Hesse is honest and responsible. He stands behind his work. Unlike some general contractors, he is willing to do smaller jobs if needed, which we appreciate. He is our "go-to" guy.

They were very good. They did it very quickly. Pricewise, it was good, I think I got a good deal. The quality of the work was great. They also replaced one side of the siding on my house that had been beaten by the sun, and I was glad they were willing to do that.

We have no complaints. The workers were friendly and professional. The deck turned out beautiful.

I wasn’t prepared for the quality of work I received from North County Deck and Patio. It was just plain awesome. If you knew me you’d know I’m a picky engineer with very high standards and endless questions, and, still, I am very happy with the job. I waited a year to write this review in part to see how the deck handled the winter. It still looks brand new and every time I walk out on it or under it, I am always happy. George was very helpful in explaining and revising his proposal; he helped us design our concept for a combination deck and patio cover and it has a great architectural look. Now we have plenty of deck and a patio cover that allows soft light into our kitchen instead of the huge, dark, rotted deck we used to have. George worked through the design with me, addressing my many concerns, so I could be sure this deck would be strong and wouldn’t trap water and rot like our old one did. George’s crew was great also; they worked fast, competently, and the daily clean-up was spotless. Even the quality of the lumber was great. The one thing I might do differently would be to get just slightly thicker tempered glass panels. The price was competitive with other bids. I’m glad I contracted this work with North County Deck.

Higher than average estimate for new deck. Probably does excellent work, but price not competitive for my income level. No work done.

We chose them since they were by far the most professional and they had a comprehensive plan with their materials. They did the work in 3 different parts for us in case we could not afford it all done at once.

I like the guy fine, it's just that their bid was very high. I had another bid that was similar in price, but then a third bid that was about half the price as both of those. They were very responsive and wanted job.

Our aging patio cover had severe dry rot and was about to fall down. George Hesse of North County Deck & Patio was highly recommended on Angie?s List. He proposed replacing our entire patio cover and improved the design considerably. For example, he recommended raised footings to prevent future dry rot and showed us a number of style options. I was impressed that George?s employees are all covered by worker?s compensation insurance. This insurance shields the homeowner from liability should one of his workers suffer an injury on our property. All of the other contractors who we sought bids from tried to tell us this was unnecessary which of course is not true at all. George was much more experienced and knowledgeable about improving the design and function of our patio cover than the other contractors. Although his bid was higher than the others we have learned from past home improvement projects you get what you pay for. George?s crew arrived promptly and worked quickly and efficiently. They were always polite, considerate and cleaned up after themselves every day. Our project was completed on time and no extra expenses were incurred. We are very impressed with North County Deck & Patio and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

George Hesse, the owner of North County Deck and Patio came out on a Tuesday to do the estimate and proposal. He was very professional and had good insights into what caused the original deck to rot, and suggestions on how to get the work done right. The cost was within the range I expected and validated with other's in the neighborhood having similar work done. The proposed terms were 10% down with the balance divided in thirds payable at start of work, completion of framing, and final acceptance. In addition to the estimate, George provided me with a small portfolio containing copies of his contractor's license, insurance certificates, business license and trade references. Based on Angie's List recommendations, my impression of George, and a quick check of his information, I awarded the job to North County Deck and Patio. The work was started on Friday and completed in four working days. George called me each day to update status. Each check was acknowledge with a letter from their office. Al lien release was provided after the final payment. This is how a job should go. North County Deck and Patio is a professional outfit and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend them without reservation.

Old deck was torn down. New deck was built using Timber Tech. Wood parts of the deck were painted to match exterior trim. George detailed the job in the bid. He was very honest and available. Work was done in timely manner and was always cleaned up.

Performed site visit for an estimate of some spiral staircases and railing work for existing decks, then never heard from them again and never got the estimate. I called, left a message, and still haven't heard from them. It was disappointing because they were timely and professional when performing the site visit.

Owner had suggestions, we agreed agreed to price, good communication and follow up.

I would highly recommend them. They are fully insured. The owner of the company did a subcontracting for the work but he was on the job watching all the time. I can truly say that this is the best work I have ever had done. They built a small separator on the deck to reinforce it and prevent termites from coming in. They used this Timber Tech material which is very good. They were very reliable and left me very satisfied.
