Seaside Air Conditioning & Heating

Even in a bad mood, I find it hard not to smile about this company as I write this. I originally contacted Home Depot to do my AC tune-up, and they sent Seaside AC. Before they came out a couple days later, one of our units actually failed. I was very pleased with their tune-up service on the remaining unit, so I asked for a quote on a replacement system. For due diligence, I also researched 7 other companies online, and had 4 of them out to quote us. I felt good about 2 of them, but we settled on Seaside AC because they seemed very technically proficient, well-organized, very communicative, really listened to my issues, made proper recommendations and specialized in TRANE (one of the two brands I was interested in). It was also a big plus that they also offered whole-house-fan installation. Not only were they able to quickly schedule my job, but they bent over backwards to get me a good financing deal through Home Depot and threw in a few other benefits. I took care of the financials and they were in my house installing the system in about a week. The installation process was very smooth. They were always punctual, worked very hard, and with the large team they brought the job was nearly finished in one day (an engineer came back the next day to finish the wiring for the whole-house fans). It was a difficult job, but they did it fantastically. They were very quality- and detail-oriented, worked very hard, and really worked with me to make things come out just a bit better for us. For example, they wired the whole-house fans to an existing switch instead of installing a new switch above the fire block (which would have been much easier), and did a good job getting the ceiling vents close to the corners of the rooms despite space constraints in the attic. They also noticed (on their own) that we had some concrete stains where the secondary AC condensate line would occasionally drip. I had previously blown out and tested that line, but the problem still occasionally cropped up during peak usage. Before I even asked them they said they had already found the problem and fixed it (one of the pipes had lost the proper slope as the house settled). They came back the following week with a huge fan and pressurized/de-pressurized my entire house, then walked around looking for leaks. They checked can lights, doors/windows, light switches, attic access, and checked the leakage rates of the ducting. They even walked around with a thermal imaging gun, taking pictures of the hot/cool air leakage. All in all I am entirely impressed, and I've already recommended them to three neighbors and a friend of ours in a neighboring town. Their excellent Home Depot, Yelp and Angie's List reputations are obviously well-earned (I did not expect that from a big-box retail store contractor). When my older AC unit fails, Seaside will be at the top of my list as long as I can work with them on price of that pricy (but worth it) TRANE gear. Also, with the high-efficiency AC unit and whole-house fans, my electric bill was almost 40% less. Five stars!

The technician, Mike, showed up on time, went about his business without interruption of our daily activities and provided a complete report of his findings. Very pleased with Seaside's service.

The service turned out okay. They were on time for the appointment. Scheduling was fine and there was one technician here doing the work. The work took about an hour to complete.

I had already received an estimate from a vendor through the COSTCO program. They spent very little time inspecting the existing furnace. They didn't even turn it on. Did not look at the condenser either. Provided an "off-the-shelf" quote of $5,000 (including the COSTCO discount). Eric from Seaside came over to inspect my situation and provide an estimate. He spent plenty of time inspecting the system, asked lots of questions, climbed up on the roof to inspect the condenser. He recommended a full replacement, including the condenser. But I explained that I would probably not be staying in the condo long-term and that the furnace was all I was looking to replace. He carefully explained the installation process and patiently answered all my questions. He was extremely pleasant, professional, and focused on my satisfaction. On the day of the installation, Rob and Kurt arrived to do the actual installation. They were both friendly, professional and carefully explained to me everything that they would be doing. The job was completed on time, they left the condo pristine, hauled away the old furnace, trained me on the new thermostat and left all the manuals and final paperwork. A wonderful experience. I would recommend Seaside unreservedly. Feel free to get a quote from another vendor if you want, but you really don't need to. You will get First Class service and quality at a very competitive price. A++ p.s. Kim in the office is also great. Make sure you let them know you saw them on Angie's list!

He was great and amazing. I have to honestly say he was like a find for me. He was professional and punctual. I thought his prices were fair. We had him actually repair our rental house heater. I liked him so much, because he would put on the little fake shoes to not ruin my carpet. He went through like 20 times and he put them on every time and took them off every time from the front yard to the backyard. So, I thought that was just going a little bit of an extra mile.

Found a defective circuit board and replaced

The technician determined the problem to be a circuit board that needed to be replaced. He located one in Anaheim, drove out there and repaired the unit the same day. This was greatly appreciated because it happened in a colder time and we were using space heaters throughout the house rather than central heat. He was very professional, explained everything very well and while I was bummed I had to spend more than I anticipated (fact of life when you own a house!) they were very reasonable and helpful. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

they just want to make money

Called to make an appointment in order to get an estimate. A new partner to the company came to my house and gve me an estimate and answered any questions or concerns I had. Very professional. Was unable to get any extra discounts but liked the partner and decided to give them my business. The install went pretty smoothly but it ran late and the workers were rushed at the end. Clean up was just OK. At the end of the install the partner returned and I had a cashier's check ready for the balance owed. He inspected the work and found some cosmetic areas that he wanted to take care of. I also asked for a receipt and he apologized for not having the paperwork and would get it out to me right away. He never came back for the cosmetic work and I did not receive a receipt. It took me many calls and over a month to finally just get a receipt. I would not recommend them. I WAS NOT ASKED TO RESPOND TO MY COMPLAINT BUT I CHOSE TO ANYWAY. SEASIDE CONTACTED ME IMMEDIATELY TO APOLOGIZE, RECTIFY, AND GIVE ME ADDITIONAL WARRANTY FOR MY INCONVENIENCE. THANK YOU SEASIDE FOR YOUR EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOR RESPONDING SO PROFESSIONALLY.

The scheduling of the appointment is very easy. They worked on my rental condo so I was not there personally and my tenants told me that they came out very promptly and worked hardly. I had to call the technician to ask him if everything is alright but normally, I expect that they will call me back instead of me calling them which I didn't like. They didn't do follow up or give me any written report until I knew everything was alright when I called them back so I was not satisfied with that, otherwise, the price was great.

I sent $40 via Paypal on 12/9/13 to SEASIDE AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING for a quick service call for my furnace. I did not receive any response from them. I was to get a rapid response within 2 days. Never happened. My husband finally repaired the furnace himself. I want a refund for the service that I no longer need.

They are very available anytime we've ever called. When our A/C went out, it happened on a very hot day in the middle of the summer and they came out the very next day to replace it. They responded very quickly. We were so pleased with his work that we used him a couple years later to replace our rental's A/C. He spends a lot of time explaining everything, how the equipment works.

Everything thing went well. Prompt and efficient.

Scheduled a visit for an estimate. Provider showed up on schedule and on time. An estimate was provided via email, contracts signed and faxed, and work was completed a few days later. 50% paid upfront via CC and remainder charged after work was completed. We had a new heating system installed in a rental unit to replace the original aging heater unit inside a closet in the rental unit. Contractors were polite and interacted with the tenants well. This was an out of state request with the owner not onsite. Much appreciated. I'll definately recommend you guys.

They were punctual and did a good job. It did take a little while for them to contact me and then the availability for an appointment was not great once we got in touch. However, once they came out everything was great!

The installation of the Nest thermostat went very well. The technician moved the thermostat to a new location with no mess at all. The furnace repair was difficult because the furnace is quite old. It's working fine now except for a minor inconvenience: The blower comes on for a few seconds before the heat comes on and then goes off until the heat comes on. Previously the blower did not come on until the heat came on. I accept the technician's explanation that this was unavoidable because the correct circuit board for my furnace is not available and he had to adapt a different board. The technician neglected to subtract the prepaid amount from the bill, but this was remedied instantly with a call to their office. Overall, I was satisfied with the service and found it superior to other furnace service that I have received in the past from other providers.

They solved the problem, He was trained well enough to correct the problem, they were efficient and they returned calls. It was a holiday and they still came out.

They did exactly what they said they would do, called before appt, showed up on time, did all service work. Plus they were very pleasant and personable. Explained everything they did as well. Excellent!
