I have used them 3 times and each time they were excellent. They are reliable, on time, and did not break or scratch any of our belongings. They made sure boxes were padded when it was necessary. They are very efficient and they get the job done very quickly. They really know how to move and unpack in a professional way.

They were great, I will use them again.

Their prices were competitive. They did high quality work. The company was punctual, responsive, and very professional.

Everything went very well. The employees were extremely courteous, freindly, professional and efficient. This is a non-profit organization and all funds raised go to help local halfway houses in the area.

It turned out to be excellent. They are extremely careful. They wrap everything well. They have a crew chief who double checks everything. They work like demons. They do what they say and they say what they do. I would use their services again in the future. They are so far above any other movers I have ever used.

My friends and I are getting too old to schlep my things around, so I decided to use a professional mover. Both times I scheduled the move for the first thing in the morning. The person who scheduled the move was very clear and didn't seem to mind explaining how they bill and what to expect for the move. They aren't cheap but they are worth every penny you will spend on moving all of your personal and prized possessions. On the morning of the move, they arrived early each time and carefully looked over and made notes about the condition of my furniture and the walls and doors for marks or pre-existing damage. I had everything boxed up so they started moving me before the start time for free! Both moves were completed before their minimum times, so I didn't save any money with this bonus work. The crew was fast but careful with all of my things and had the truck packed up in no time.the travel time is charged at double time time so a 10 minute drive is charged as 20 minutes. This is somewhat standard but good to know if you are using a mover for the first time. On the other side, the unpacking went almost as fast as the packing. This is where these guys excel as they would be getting tired at this point. Everything that was wrapped in blankets and plastic wrapped was unwrapped and placed where I wanted. My bed was reassembled, my clothes were hung back in my closet and all the materials they used were picked up and carried out. I offered the movers water, which some accepted. They can't accept tips or anything more than water, but will accept donations to their foundation. It's a good cause and I was told that the money is used for outings and events everyone gets to enjoy. I also recommend that when you see something that makes you happy (and I did again and again) share that with the moving crew as it happens as that is a great mood booster. Don't wait too long to schedule your move as they can get busy and you might end up having to use someone less spectacular than these guys.

We moved from a 2 bedroom apartment in the city to a house in the East Bay. We had lived in our apartment for 14 years so we had accumulated a ton of stuff. They gave me an estimate a week before the moving date of $3000. A crew of 5 guys with 2 big trucks showed up on time and went to work. They carried 20-80lb boxes up and down stairs and RAN (not walked) back & forth from the trucks. They were so fast and efficient. They wrapped each piece of furniture in padding and clear wrap so nothing was damaged at all. They took down TVs and speakers that were permanently mounted on the walls, and boxed up all the TVs, stereos, wires, etc. When unloading, they had me stand by the trucks and asked me where in the house to put each and every box. Every guy in the crew was so polite and courteous. The total cost ended up being $2300, which was $700 less than the original estimate. I would use them again in a heartbeat. They were incredible. They exceeded my very high expectations and made moving a very painless experience.

He got them off the list and they were fantastic. They actually use ex-convicts and people with problems, but those people are in some kind of treatment or gone through some kind of treatment. They were wonderful and I couldn?t speak highly enough about them. He paid maybe $2,000 for that work and they did everything. Everything was reasonable and superb. If it is possible for them to be our movers for any move we make, we would use them.

They were fabulous. They walked in, packed up the whole house, and moved it over. We didn?t have any problems with them. We would absolutely use them again.

They did a great job. They were very punctual and professional. They handled everything really well. They were nice people and were clean too. There was nothing that was damaged. It was a pleasant experience. They first came out to my old place to see as to how much stuff had to be moved and then went through a list of what materials they might need. They then gave me an estimate and they also stayed within the estimate. My overall experience with them was very good. They weren't the cheapest, but their prices were good, as I did compare their prices with other moving companies as well. They were responsive, as they also made follow calls. I would definitely use their services again.

It couldn't have gone better. They arrived 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. They were organized very respectful of my things. Not one item was damaged or broken.

Great experience, almost to the level of Gentle Giant of the Boston area, movers I have used twice before. The dispatcher was a little brief and perhaps a little gruff (hence -1 on professionalism) when I first called, but they put us on the board promptly and said they were sending 4 guys. They called the day before with the final details, they all showed up on time and were very nice and professional. The crew chief was fantastic, he was double-timing it the entire move. They were done in minimum time!

This is a top-notch organization! They came on time, moved our belongings without one problem, finished earlier than expected and came in lower than the estimate. The four individuls had obviously had training in the technical aspects of moving furnishings, but also in interacting with the customer. They were courteous, professional and did not complain about the rain or all of the flights of stairs involved. My only regret is that my budget did not allow me to double the tip. Moving is a giant pain, but using Delancey Street was an excellent choice. I give them my whole-hearted endorsement!

Estimators came down about two days after I called them, move happened 4 business days after that. The estimates were fair and conservative, everything was properly explained and the estimators were extremely professional. On the day of the move, the guys showed up about 10 minutes early (perfect!). We did a quick run through the house going over what needed to still be packed and how a couple of items needed to be handled. They then took an inventory of the house and the furniture to ensure that all existing scratches and damage were noted. The gentlemen on the crew were quick, efficient, took great care of my stuff, and again, very professional. In fact, I would have to say this is the smoothest move I have ever had. Packing took about 1/2 hour less than estimated (I did more packing on my own than planned) and unloading took about 1/2 hour less than estimate. We didn't need some of the materials estimated either, so the whole bill came in almost $200 under the not-to exceed estimate. They _are_ allowed to accept tips which do go directly to the crew, the tips will be recorded by the crew and confirmed by the home office and I received a tax deductible note, as they were considered a donation to the foundation. What can I say? The guys were great, the entire experience was extremely professional, and there were no ugly surprises. Over the years, I've occasionally eaten at the cafe, bought my Xmas trees from them, and now moved with them. All of my experiences have been very positive. Above and beyond everything else, you have the side benefit of contributing to a great cause.

I was beyond impressed with Delancey Movers. Their bid was significantly lower than any other company, yet they were far more careful and harder working than anyone else that I have ever hired. They were extremely careful and thorough while wrapping my furniture. After packing up the apartment, they noted the time and said they would be off the clock so they could have lunch. They even had printed directions to our new home. While unloading the truck, they were extremely cautious with our newly refinished floors and waited for me to put felt bumpers under just about every piece of furniture. Throughout the day, I did not even notice anyone stop to take a breather. In the end, not one piece of furniture was dinged or broken. There was no damage to the house! I was so impressed with Delancey's professionalism. The movers really take pride in their work. When we tried to tip them, they said they could not take the money but instead we could make a donation to Delancey Street. They said that the company gave them a second chance. If I ever move again, I will only use Delancey!

They arrived on time. Completed an inventory. Moved my stuff to the truck and drove to my new place. Unloaded everything.

I found Delancey St. Movers on Angie's list. I liked the fact that they train people as well as employ them; it's a nonprofit with very competitive prices. Their estimate was professional and a bit more than I was actually charged. They were punctual and careful. One plate broke, but that was pretty minor.

Delancy has very strict procedures. Two people came to estimate and were very thorough in doing a complete inventory. Their estimate was just under $1050. I was able to get a move date within a week of calling. Three men came and they once again inventoried everything noting the state of the house and furniture. They also got to the new house and noted the state of everything (this is all done to leave no question as to what damage could be ascribed as their fault). They wrapped everything in plastic and pads so that not one thing was scratched. They were exceedingly careful not to damage to wood floors in the new house. They did it under $100 of the estimate but I gave them a $50 donation. These were very hard working guys and I was quite pleased.

They showed up on time to complete the estimate and were very thorough and complete. The estimate was very reasonable. We scheduled the move, but then had to change the date due to our closing being delayed. When I tried to reschedule they were booked up for over a month. I had to use someone else.

I booked them about 2 weeks in advance. They arrived right on time and worked tirelessly, taking only a short break for lunch. They gave me a "will not exceed" price in the a.m., and came in way under by the end of the job. Their packing job was quite good, except for the wardrobe boxes which were worn out and had broken or collapsed racks in them; the hanging clothes arrived at the bottom of the boxes. They were notably neat, efficient, and good at what they do. They did an amazing job of getting a large sofa through a small, twisty hallway. They take cash only, which is kind of inconvenient. However, I had plenty of time to pop out to the bank and get cash based on their estimate. Also, they did not tell me in advance that there are certain materials (cleaning fluids, etc.) that they will not move. So I ended up having to repack a box or two, also a slight inconvenience. Nevertheless my overall impression was that they did a great job and were well worth the money.

We re sorry to say it, but Delancey Street s admirable devotion to their mission ended up leaving us high and dry. Impressed with their high ratings on Angie s, we got a thorough walk through and estimate from Delancey Street. We were facing a tight deadline to move and thought we could count on them to pack us up on one day and move us on the next. Unfortunately, our elderly, senile landlord, the reason for our move, decided on packing day to accost the lead mover and give him directions about how to move our belongings while verbally assaulting us. The police were summoned, and instructed the landlord at great length not to interfere further with our contractors. Nevertheless, the movers understandably notified their headquarters, who told them to vacate the premises and not to return. We asked the line supervisor at hq to contact the police officers for reassurance or to let us talk to the manager in charge. Neither occurred. He said their contract with us was not binding, and everyone vanished. After repeated calls, we did reach a manager around 1 pm who was unresponsive and unapologetic. We were left to begin negotiating from scratch for a massive 2-day pack and move to occur all on the following day, at a much higher cost in dollars and distress. Hopefully our circumstances are almost unique, but as landlord disputes are increasingly common in this property-mad area, any clients anticipating similar problems should be aware of our story.

The team did a great job. We were moving back into a home that already had furniture, etc., and the guys were great in helping us move things around before unloading the truck with all the things from our other home. They were very careful, considerate and professional. The communication was excellent and the team leader, Mike, did a great job of watching over the crew as well as moving things himself. He was a good mentor/teacher to the more inexperienced guys and they all listened and followed directions very carefully. When we tried to tip them at the end of the day, Mike gathered all the team around him so they could watch him carefully document the tip (which goes back to Delancy Street). When we asked him why they didn't get to keep the tip, we were told, by several of the guys, that in fact they did get benefit of the tip by the very existence of Delancy Street. One of the guys said without Delancy we wouldn't have this opportunity and we are grateful. Although I hope NEVER to move again! I would definitely recommend Delancy to anyone moving.

After reading great reviews elsewhere, I booked them for a small move -- I just needed people to move all the furniture and bulky items from a 1 BR apartment in San Mateo to San Francisco. 3 men showed up, were very professional, wrapped everything in pads and plastic (and glass in cardboard), and the move was over in about 4 hours. They're not allowed to accept anything (other than maybe water) and any "tips" are officially noted as donations to the Delancey St Foundation. Great service, I'd use them again.

They were top-notch. My husband and I have been through a number of moves, and this was our best experience. They were punctual, efficient, professional and courteous. Nothing was damaged. Highly recommended.
