First visit confirmed we had dry rot and determined the extent and cost of repairs. The work was completed on time and on budget. After the fact I think a different method should have been used in one spot (replacement of a door jam rather than cut and replacing just a section) but the rest of the work appears to be excellent and I am satisfied.

They came out and provided an estimate for the total amount of work that needed to be done. They were very professional and competent. They provided an overall estimate and it seemed reasonable. I have just decided not to go through with the project.

From the beginning Don Scouten, Best-Rate's, Director of Business Development provided my with a professional assessment of the work that needed to be done and quotation. There workers did exactly what we discussed and then some and when it was all done they cleaned up so it looked like they were never here. I paid for what I got - great work and great service.

They provide a detailed estimate on the wood rot project. In the end, the estimate was higher than the deal and a friend of mine was able to do the work for free.

They did an excellent job! Very thorough and professional. Upon finding further un-anticipated problems, repaired them AT NO COST. Timely and courteous. Good post job clean-up.

Best-Rate contacted me via e-mail.Talked to Mike Spencer and made an app. He showed up on time, notable because I do live off the beaten path. I was a little apprehensive, I figured there would be to much repair for the price ($159). The roll-up garage doors needed to be partially disassembled to do the repair, the header needed to be supported , plus painting. Mike assured me the coupon would cover the repairs. I then asked him about the stucco damage, knowing it would of course be extra. He said no problem, would be charged @ $70 an hour over the 4 hours covered by the coupon, probably 1 or 2.I of course, provided the matching paint and new jambs.The workers showed on time and did a beautiful job. The stucco damage was fairly significant, with large chunks missing and cracks running to to top of the garage, so the 2 extra hours I paid for were completely reasonable. So for about $300 i got easily $800 to $1000 of repair. I had already received estimates on the stucco repair only that were more than that. The texture matched perfectly and the repair, painting and spotless way they left my home were all extremely professional. A great deal without the coupon. Could not recommend more highly. Received estimate for termite damage of exterior beams and decay of 8 foot deck post. Work scheduled in 3 weeks but called and done 10 days later. Estimated 4 days to complete--done in 2 days with 2 additional available workers. All personnel pleasant. Repairs not visible. Very pleased with quality of work and service.

MIke Spencer was a professional and easy to work with from start to finish. My sister's house was recently vacated and she wanted it readied to be sold. The house was in worse shape that I had imagined and Mike came up with pretty good resolutions for everything that needed to be addressed. The crew worked outside in the coldest days of December and were prompt and professional. They worked fast and paid attention to details. I would call Mike again if I had the need for his company's skills.

Great experience. I learned about Best-Rate through an Angie's List offer I purchased in December. The company proactively reached out and contacted me after I purchased the coupon. Their estimator came to the house first, assessed the work, and concluded it could be completed within the allotted labor hours in the Angie's List coupon. The guy (Rocky) that performed the repair was friendly, professional, and open to questions. Although the work took slightly longer than the allotted time on the coupon, Best-Rate stuck to the agreed deal. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat for any wood construction or repair work.

My experience with Best-Rate Repair Company was very good. There was a fungus growth on the wood under the gutter near the front entrance to my house. Rocky came to my house to give me an estimate for the repair. He was punctual and I liked the way he talked with me. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain how the job would be done in enough detail to convince me that the job would be done correctly. He walked around the house to see if there were any other areas which would need repair. He found a damaged section in a trellis over the front walkway. He also indicated how they would fix some flashing to help keep water run off from causing this kind of problem again. Pat was the worker who came to my house to do the actual work. He also was puntual. He finished the job in about 5 hours which was a little quicker than I expected, based upon Rocky's estimate. When he finished, we both examined his work while he explained what he did and why. He also had absolutely no issues explaining his work to me. I am very impressed with both Rocky and Pat's expertise and professionalism. They are both very easy to talk with and gave me the feeling that they cared for my project and wanted to do their very best for me. I would definitely contact them again for any construction or repair type work.

One representative came out to estimate. He was on time, and very efficient an knowledgeable and even einfo about other issues which were unrelated to the task at hand...very helpful. He gave me an accurate estimate of the work that needed to be done. Another representative came out to do the work. He was on time, polite, and worked diligently to repair all the items from the estimate. He even did some extra work in the context of the estimate, and didn't even charge for it. I would use this company again, and would recommend them as knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and professional.

I was really pleased with the whole process. They were nice and professional from the start. We had our estimate and a date for service set up within a week. We were scheduled for a 4 hour process to replace sections of our front door frame that had wood rot. Our service man was Rocky. Very courteous. He explained the process and let me know what was needed.I gave a "B"on price because I used an Angie's List coupon and I am not sure the difference in pricing. My price was great with the coupon I did pay for any extra supplies needed, which ended up being the new wood (only $20 for the areas replaced). . I supplied paint I already had. Everything was finished and cleaned up before I knew it. It looks great and I would definitely use this company again!

d hard, and cleaned up everyday. We found them very professional. They replaced eaves, fascia,some siding, fence posts, and completely rebuilt the fence structure in one area. We also had them paint. They did a very good job that has pleased us and has been admired by neighbors who have asked for their name. We have lived in this house for 25 years and have had many service providers of one kind or another and they were by far the best.

Overall outstanding repair. Some of the redwood 2x6 decorative covers were not cinched tight to the frame but everything else was superb.

I was able to work from home so I saw the extraordinary quality of the work, board by board, screw by screw.

The bid was FAR lower than any others I'd actually received and the work was done promptly, cleanly and very thoroughly. All unforseen damages that would incur new expenses were explained to us & they provided a separate bid for new costs before any further actions were taken by builder. We were thoroughly impressed with the minimal inconvenience to our tenants as well as, and more importantly, the quality of the finished work. They matched the existing paint so well that I asked them to leave me the formula for the color!! I have already requested bids for jobs to be done by Best Rate in the very near future.

Best Rate were excellent from start to finish. Mike Spencer had come over to check out of old deck due to dry rotting in certain spots and was very honest about the situation after checking out various parts of the decking structure. He gave us various options on what we could do and never pressured us into any particular direction. We werent in the market for a new deck, but as with owning a home, these things pop up. So instead of just replacing the rotted parts, we reluctantly went with a whole new set which was a considerable price jump. We couldnt be happier and it has greatly added to our "California Living Room". The team Mike had work with us:Dave and David ,were very skilled and paid attention to all the details because our former deck had unique dimensions and angles. While not exactly copied to the former, we actually think the minor changes were for the better. The guys were clean, polite and were always free to explain what was going on during the process. This was a pretty huge job, at least from how I saw it my end and they really reinforced the new frame so it would last almost forever. The decking itself is stunning. We were torn between real wood and the fake stuff. This new Transcends line that Mike had recommended is pretty amazing stuff. We are beyond happy with the end results. But these guys are good, really good, so dont expect some low ball quote just to get your business and get hit up on the back end. You get what you pay for and with these guys I feel I got that and more. So if you want quality workmanship at a fair and honest price and company, give them a call, you wont be disappointed.

I am an Independence but disabled female who has trouble speaking on the phone. I paid for Angie's List to be able to email good rated providers to work for me. I have emailed SEVERAL, 3 in this category alone and have not received a response from a single one. Is business so good that people can afford to ignore inquiring customers? UPDATE!!! Angie's list email service must be faulty. I emailed this provider, but got no response. I wrote an unflattering review but then the VP showed up my house, review in hand, apologizing saying her never got email. He spent time doing a bid and now I await the bid in writing on my email address which he confirmed with me.

Very professional in providing quote. Flexible in scheduling. Workers actually arrived early to start. Work was completed sooner than quoted. Everything was left clean at the end of the work day. Crew was friendly & personable but again professional. Went over the expectations by painting a whole outside beam to match, rather than just the section replaced.!

I had previously used Best Rate Repair in 2009 to repair a roof and replace a skylight and I felt that I could trust them with this bigger job. I am completely satisfied with the job that Mike Spencer quoted and over-saw and the work done by Daniel and Martin. I have never seen two people work so hard (without complaint) in extremely hot weather. Their skill in working with wood was impressive and each night they did a thorough job of clean-up. I was also pleased that they did not try to talk me into a bigger job but worked with me to repair the existing structures. I have an older home (not squared) and when we ran into a problem, we discussed and figured out the best approach. I will definitely use Best Rate Repair again.
