Best-Rate Repair Company

It went very well. They lived up to their expectations and they did a good job. There was nothing negative to report on their visit. They showed up on time and got the work done promptly.

Excellent.....all people with whom I was in contact were professional and courteous. They arrived in a prompt fashion, and all were good communicators. I can absolutely recommend this company, especially for their honesty in dealing with a matter of overpayment. A+ all around!

We had some difficulty settling on a date for them to come out, but they showed up on time on the day we selected. Richard, the crewmember from Best-Rate, looked around at the work that needed to be done then went to the store to get the rest of the materials he needed. Upon his return he started with replacing the staircase stringer. He did a great job on retro-fitting it into the old staircase as the stringer we had supplied was an inch narrower than the old one. Next was the front shadow boards, they had to be pulled out and replaced with new wood. The new boards have a good fit and he caulked the edges to finish them off. Richard did a great job of cleaning up and hauled away the old debris. The job took six hours, which was about what we expected. All in all it was a good experience and we would use them again.

Went very well. Showed up early for the estimate and then on time for the work. Very pleased with the service.

Showed up on time. Tore out old fascia and replaced with new matched painted boards. Friendly and responsive to changes. Finished ahead of schedule.

Quick estimate, began work a week later, completed and executed the work professionally and excellently and exactly in the time frame they projected.

Best- Rate company wanted an additional charge of $ 500.00 for additional labor and materials (4 sheets of plywood.) which was excessive considering the deal covered 4 hours of labor for $ 167.00 .

After being told by our termite inspection company (on numerous occasions) that we had dry rot, I purchased a Big Deal for Dry Rot repair. When Mike some out from Best-Rate Repair Company, Inc to give us an estimate he informed me that we did not have any dry rot. He explained why the termite people may have made the mistake. He recommended that we get a refund from Angie's List. We were very appreciative of his assistance and his honesty; it makes us more likely to use Angie's List and purchase other Big Deals in the future.

Work was good, however there was over spray everywhere and texture on my garage door from where the stuff was mixed.

Repaired, power washed, and painted fence with 8 hours of labor.

Mike Spencer showed up on time and did the estimate after I described what I wanted. He later e-mailed me the estimate to sign and return. An install date about 2 weeks later was setup. The workers showed up on time and after talking with me started the work. Unfortunately there was a problem with the original patio structure beams sloping toward the house meaning that the 4x 8 composite patio cover sheets had to be lifted unusually high at the rear for it to drain away from the house. This was also right next to balcony structure that already drained toward the house. As the work progressed it was obvious it wasn't going to do what I needed it to do and was also going to create a drainage problem on the balcony. I suggested to the carpenter that it would be better if the 4x8 supporting patio beams were taken out and cut down to lower everything. Unfortunately this added $400 to the cost of an already expensive project. If this could have been planned properly from the beginning I feel it should have cost less. Ultimately the end result looks very good and I am very happy with it.

Completely responsive, reliable, and professional. Besides putting in new drywall, Mike saw that my dryer vent hose was damaged and not working properly (the result of a poor job completed by a previous handyman). He repaired this with additional new materials and I can see that his work is much more thorough. Also repaired some malfunctioning electric sockets and informed me about what to do to prevent this in the future (I have had 2 other electricians "repair" this problem but it persisted because no one explained the cause). I would highly recommend this company.

We were pleased with their work. Started right when we agreed and worked steadily until they finished in just four consecutive days. They were easy and pleasant to talk with, and responded to any suggestion we made.

This contractor was very nice. Seem to really know what he was talking about. He was going to replace the rotten boards on the trim of my house but my roofer ended up including the trim in his bid so I didn't using best rate repair company. I think this contractor would have done an excellent job.

Miscommunication. I assumed he would show up and do 4 hours of work since I ordered 4 hours work for $149. He had 4 other quotes to do that day and never intended to do 4 hours of work at our home that day. Since he only planned on doing a quote, my husband allowed him to give an estimate on the work for a new deck. My husband showed him the drywall area we wanted fixed and thought was 4 hours, but he only wanted to do a bid on that too. So no work was done. I'm out $149 and left trying to get my money back. When I requested my money back from him, he rudely emailed me back, " I'm sorry that I couldn't perform a balcony replacement for $149" as if that was my expectations. We had a deck to be built and allowed him to do an estimate for the deck, but having paid the $149 for 4 hours work, I assumed incorrectly he actually intended to do the 4 hours of work which was for another area of the house. My husband showed him the drywall area in the bedroom that needed to be done and he only wanted to bid that too. (That was ultimately fixed by someone else for under 4 hours of work). The deck was ultimately built. We paid over $6000 for the deck and if the company had just done what they said they would and planned to do $149 and 4 hours of work they very likely would also have gotten an additional job worth over $6000. The company needs to tell people that what they really mean is a bid will be done... not work done! I learned a big lesson. Don't assume that the Angie's Big Deal is reality. You are very likely paying for a bid only and will have a hard time getting your money back and will be insulted along the way for asking for your money back.

It went well. Workers were courteous, prompt, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. One product failed to adhere properly, and was reapplied.

Making the appointment was quick and easy. Someone came out to inspect and made suggestions and provided an estimate on how long and how much it would cost. They went over the process to fix. When I was ready, I called to make the appointment. The repair person that came over the house was ontime and very nice and professional. He was very careful with moving my furniture and to protect it while working. He walked me through the steps of what he was going to do to fix both window sills. I appreciated that he was able to fix the 2nd window sill without replacing, so that saved me money. The job went smoothly and was done within a few hours. He cleaned up his mess and everything looked great.

After living in my condo for 12 years, I finally decided to have my kitchen and both bathrooms completely remodeled. These rooms were like "the land that time forgot"--all the original fixtures were from 1990, when it was constructed. I chose Best-Rate because of strong recommendations from two friends who had used their services several years earlier when they had decks built for their house. In addition, the company had performed extensive remodeling at the business where i work. John Brown served as the contractor and main point of contact for the job. From my first meeting, John and his colleagues made invaluable suggestions and showed a level of creativity as they made both design and construction recommendations. John walked me through all the condo board approvals (extensive!) and even attended the meeting to ensure that all went smoothly. The work began soon after and I was so impressed by the level of cleanliness and care that was present throughout the process. Although this was a big job, which included replacing all the interior doors, all the baseboard in the house, and plaster skim coating every wall in my house, all were done to perfection. They tiled the floors, installed new appliances and toilets, painted the entire interior of the house--everything! Nothing was subbed out, so there was a level of excellence. I can't say enough about the Best-Rate team, including John Brown, Willie, and Don Scouten. Amazing work and I LOVE the results!
