Best-Rate Repair Company

I am very happy with the work they did. The fellow that came out was very nice, he explained what he thought needed to be done, I agreed to it. The price seemed reasonable, and he did it in one day. I would recommend him. He worked with my schedule, which wasn't easy, and he was there right on time.

He just finished a while ago and everything came out good. He was very good, they are very clean and they are prompt and I would use them again. It came out more so we paid about another $732.58 plus the $149 for the Big deal. The guy was very nice and it was a very pleasant experience.

He came on time, helped me measure my fence, and called a contractor he recommended to help me get a quote over the phone. Super helpful. He even called and lined up a paving contractor for our patio.

I met with the gentleman. He came out and gave the estimate. I will be having the work done next week. He also was polite, arrived on time and called ahead of time to let me know too.

Overall went well. It was one day of work, so I'm not sure the price was best. I did appreciate the work that was done. The sill repairs match the original sills well, it's a 1928 home. They dug/pulled out wood then put in new wood strips and filling. Patched each up. I can't tell if the fix will last forever or a year. I wonder about a couple spots. They removed the security bars from 1 window and I thought would remove it but left them in my yard. All this said, I'd still call them to repair future windows.

I bought the $149 four hour special, but the estimate to do what I wanted to have done was over $2000. When I cut out some of the "extra" painting we finally agreed upon something closer to $1149. The work was done properly and the end result was satisfactory, but I was surprised at the end cost. I thought four hours of time would have accomplished more than it did.

They were on time, provided quality work at a fair price

It went excellent. They were prompt. They came out with a guy, who came out on a Saturday which is great, to give me an estimate. They gave me an estimate for 4 different areas that I wanted them to look at around the house and it was gonna take longer and I agreed to do the extra work and pay their state of rate. It seemed to be a little bit high but it was within reason and the work they did was excellent. They actually did it faster than estimated so I was extremely pleased. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. They did something that I thought was gonna be tricky but they did an excellent job on everything.

Best Rate Repair sent friendly, professional and highly-skilled crews. They were efficient, communicative and responsive. Excellent results too.

A bid was provided for job but was too high.

When the job had reached 8 hours, I had him stop and finished some of the work myself including painting the interior side of door and adding the trim and rehanging the screen door so as to not have the labor go beyond the 8 hours. When I went to pay for the invoice of $732 by credit card, I was told there was another 3% credit card added on top of the total. This was not anywhere noted on the estimate/contract. My wife and I were very disappointed with the costs involved and we were going to contact Don. However, to our surprise and appreciation, Don reached out to us the first business day to discuss the job. He realized it had gone over the estimate he originally gave us and credited back 2 hours of labor and the 3% credit card charge and made it right. This brought our ratings up 1 full star and felt it brought the costs a bit more in line with our original expectation. The work was quality work, just feel the price was bit high and that a more thorough estimate be done with communicating all of the potential and real costs involved in the project. Don's actions after the job was complete, turned us from being disappointed customers to satisfied.

Don is expert estimator, and applies his knowledge from the homeowner perspective. The recommendations included options with cost/benefit trade-offs. No corner-cutting solutions. Painter referral, to complete the makeover. This is a first-class home repair operation that we would quickly recommend to anyone.

Mike Spencer came to give an estimate. He was very professional. He told us that the damage to the garage door was not repairable and that we needed to replace the entire panel. He told us to request a refund from Angies List.

We called another wood provider that gave a $2,000 all-inclusive quote (no Angie list discount or any other discount). To this we agreed. A single person came out and did the entire job in only about 16 hours. It was perfect. Posts are exact match and rock solid. No scaffolding or fancy equipment. Left the glass in place. It was amazing to watch, he put very simple support wood in place to ensure total safety with the glass as he removed and replaced each post. The frame around window took about 30 minutes and wood cap replacement another hour. My view is that Best-Rate used Angie list as a loss leader to suck people into spending much more than needed. If a single talented person could safely do the job, Best-Rate could only be considered incompetent or a con. We are out the money we paid Angie/Best-Rate because there was nothing Best-Rate could actually do for their "deal".

The service was fine. The technician was very efficient and did everything he was supposed to do. He did things in the correct order so he did not waste any time. He gave me some suggestions on future work. He was upfront with additional material charges and gave me a discount because I was an Angie's List member.

They did a great job. The paint and wood match perfectly. The guy who came out to the house was enjoyable and professional.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked out really well. I have used them for several other things beside what I purchased. They do really good work. I had additional charges above the Big Deal price. I like their personal service; it was really good and they were fair. They were on time, did really good work and cleaned up after themselves.

The work performed was excellent. We had two very large wood beams on the outside entry-way replaced. The beams were 6x8x12' and 6x8x8' long. They also replaced 4x8" beams that formed part of a decorative half wall attached to the house and eaves. On the half wall they replaced the top of the wall with an aluminum drip cap that covered the complete top of the wall. This was an extra step that I really appreciated. This should stop this wall from rotting again for many years. The lead for the crew - Sergio is a craftsman. He did a great job making the project look like new. They repainted the new wood to match the existing trim. The large beams met on top of a column, during the tear out it broke some of the concrete flashing at the top of the column. They repaired this very nicely. The other work on the wood rot on the eaves was done very nicely and properly painted to match the existing trim. The quality of workmanship is outstanding.

The company provided a prompt estimate, started and completed the job on schedule in a professional manner. This was a relatively small job, that another company wouldn't even come out to do an estimate on.

Estimator was prompt and courteous, and we got the estimate right away. Entire crew was seasoned, professional, and efficient. The work was high quality, and we are very pleased. Some of the other companies we requested estimates from either never showed up, or called us back after Best-Rate Repair had already finished this job! When I first called Best Rate, I mentioned that I already had the plans from an engineer to repair the truss. They said they still needed to come out for an estimate. When the estimator came out, he did not have a ladder with him (he had to leave it at another job), although he managed to make do with the step ladder I had. He mostly just poked his head into the attic and looked to confirm the truss would be accessible for the repair. After this, he gave me the estimate. The actual cost of parts and labor was not too much more on top of the minimum charge. Within the day, Best Rate scheduled the an early morning appointment for the next week for the repair to be done. When the technician arrived, he brought his ladder up and tried to see the truss. Since it wasn't visible, he decided he would just go up and find it based on the notes the engineer had provided. After cutting the plywood down to size, he went up into the attic and found the broken truss. He installed the plywood and took a picture of the repairs. Although the pictures were not of the best quality, they showed that for the most part the plans from the engineer were followed. However, it did appear the pattern for the screws on the bottom chord was a straight line stretching a longer length than the two rows specified by the engineer. I did not notice this until I looked at the pictures more closely on a computer than than on a phone.

The service went fine. He did more than his fair share and he replaced all that wood that we had problems with. We're happy with the service. I love the work that he did.

They did the work requested.

When you install an interior door, you have to match and measure it and fit it into the existing spot and they cut the new door a little too much. When it closes, the closed gap falling against the trim is just enough to catch the latch to close and keep the door closed. They could have been more particular in there measurements. I was really disappointed that they cut the doors a little too much. I didn’t bring it up to them, we just let it go. It would have been a total door replacement to fix this issue. Out of the 11 doors, I think 2 were cut a little too much. There was an upsell. They gave us an estimate for a rate and they said that this was the Angie’s List rate. They came back and estimated the door job and said it was gonna be around this amount. We held them to the hourly rate and it came out to be a little over $1,000 and my wife recalculated it with the exact hours worked and it was under $1,000. Overall, I think it was worth that.

They were great for that job. I hired them again for another job.
