Description of Work: I met with the owner for we were planning on redoing our backyard. He had some good ideas and I was excited about the pricing estimates he gave us. In order to have any work done by his company we had to have a design done by their company so we paid them $600 to have it done. The design work went well but we had to ask to have the actual measurements put in the plan. ie; length and width of decking, amount of actual walking space between the deck and the house etc. which was added to the second of the three revised plans (the third and final plans were again missing all the measurements that were on the second set of plans) They suggested and we agreed to have them add all the bells and whistles even if we weren't going to actually have the work done with the intent on starting large and removing things that were not in our budget. When we received the final bid we didn't receive any followup phone calls. I called them after a week because the bid did not include the Angie's list discount so I had them add that to the bid. I received an updated bid that had the words "Angie's List Discount" added but no additional discount. This was on 8/4/15 and today is 9/9/15. Over a month has passed and I have NOT received one follow-up phone call or an email to see where we want to go with the project, how we want to proceed etc. my husband and I decided together that if this company really wanted our business they would have better customer service and would care about where we wanted to go. The final bid was almost $36k and we would have done 3/4 of the work with this company but because of the absolute failure on their part to contact us or to make us feel like they actually want the work we are not choosing them. In addition we had told them that if we were happy with the backyard we would then look to them to do a drought tolerant front yard for us. we would absolutely not recommend Lavish Gardens Landscaping.

Description of Work: Complete redo of backyard. |Design and installed stamped concrete patio, re landscaped yard, lighting and sprinklers | |Had issues with lighting, sprinklers after completion - did not respond to phone calls, finally wrote a letter and they continued to respond slowly. | |They finally came out to the house - fixed sprinklers, fixed/moved lights (that did not come on that night) - had to redo it myself. | |After letters and phone calls and $35k - owner never had the courtesy to call us. Just poor customer service and follow up

Description of Work: Cleaned up, repaired , and improved $6,000 in damage done by previous contractor (dismissed) on irrigation, drainage, pond, and tree removal misadventures. Was timely, considered the difference between what needed to be done and what costs the most to be done. Provided detailed landscape architectural plans for contour, planting, irrigation, lighting, fencing and drainage. Provided a work schedule strictly followed to completion by a large, competent, respectful crew. Very professional. Saved me from disaster!

Description of Work: Provided us with an estimate for landscaping, which we accepted and signed a contract and paid for. We later changed out minds and asked for a refund, promising a very favorable review on Angies List if they agreed. They did agree to the refund, minus a conssultation fee, which we found reasonable, but we never received the refund/

Description of Work: Lavish Gardens terraced a slope in my back yard. It had been covered in ivy for many years. I voiced my concern from the start with the designer and the first foreman assigned about the need to adequately remove the ivy roots and install some type of root barrier over the soil before putting down bark and plants. They assured me this would be done. I was reassigned to another foreman because the first one was tied up on another job. There was a lack of communication between the designer, the first foreman, and the second foreman with the end result being that not all the ivy roots that could be removed were removed. No excavation of soil was done although the contract stated that 15 yds were to be removed. The slope looks nice, but I am out patrolling every morning for ivy and Bermuda grass. New shoots peek their heads out of the ground almost every day. I am praying I can keep them at bay by pulling and spraying. Only time will tell, come spring, if I can effectively keep the slope well-maintained by myself. Everyone I dealt with from Lavish Gardens was pleasant, and they gave me a discount for the miscommunication and leaving me in this predicament. (The $9,000 is the cost after the discount.) The work was done fast, which I was pleased with, and and terraces were well-built with French drains and gravel behind, although the upper terrace on one side of the stairs came out lower than the other side. We debated what to do about the height difference, and they finally left me with some extra blocks I could stack on the low side if it bothered me too much--but the extra blocks made the low side higher than the other side. Sigh! Based on their ads and rating on Angie's List, I thought I was hiring a landscape company whose standards were higher than the average--but I guess not. I will not use Lavish Gardens again.

Description of Work: Had a small landscape project done between my house and my neighbors. Preliminaries went well. Got design and cost agreed on easily. When work began it went down hill from there. The owner of the Company went on vacation during our project and the foreman he left in charge, who by the way, was the only English speaker, was difficult to track down. None of the workers on site spoke English so I couldn't convey what I needed done when they had questions or were making an error on the installation. The project, which should have taken 3-4 days, took over a month to complete. Workers wouldn't show up when they promised. Days would go by with no work being done at all. When they did show up they would do work on the project that was wrong and I would spend several days tracking down the foreman to get him to tell them how to correct it. They finally announced they were done but had left the bed they were working on without the rock cover it was supposed to have. When I explained they hadn't finished they told me it would cost more to install the rock. I was livid. After the rock was delivered, in order to avoid any further delay, my neighbors and I installed it ourselves. A year in and we are still having some drip and drainage problems.

Description of Work: Custom concrete walkways , irrigation and drainage. All work was of high quality. Miguel was extremely hard-working, and cleaned up whenever he left for the day. Anthony (our landscape designer) made sure all of our concerns were addressed, and was very helpful in assisting us with presenting our request to our HOA for prior approval. The owner, Michael Cole was always ready to answer any questions that came up during the process. Like others who have rated this company, I was not thrilled with the price, but I am with the result.

Description of Work: Lavish Gardens Landscape is about 60 miles from my residence. Because of the distance and my budget I decided to go with a local landscape co. to do the actual work. Lavish Gardens did however take measurements of my property and drew up a set of wonderful blue prints detailing plants, trees, hardscape and lighting. I was able to show a local landscape co these blue prints and get the garden I have dreamt of.

Description of Work: Estimate done, and was impressed by thoroughness of that. Would recommend calling them for consideration. Price came in high, so went another way.
