Lucky Sully Chimney and Duct Cleaning

Another contractor sanded down my brick fireplace before putting a tile facade on it and my air ducts were full of red dust from the brick. (I did not get that contractor through Angie's List and will never hire him again.) My first phone call to Lucky Sully was returned promptly and we scheduled service for the next day or so. Brian arrived on time and completed the job of cleaning 8 ducts @ $40 each in about 3 hours, maybe less. I have much less of a sinus problem now and my house doesn't get dusty right after it's been dusted anymore. He warned me when the duct cleaning process would get noisy. He didn't make much of a mess but it was all cleaned up after the work was done. He also inspected my 45yo gas fireplace that had never been used and since he knew I had prepped it for use, he recommended a website where I could find some gas fireplace logs. I have already used Lucky Sully again - to install the fireplace logs.

He was excellent. He was on time, everything was good.

I recently purchased a house built in 1974 and wanted to have the chimney inspected, cleaned and capped. I called Lucky Sully, quickly scheduled an appointment for three days later. On the appointment day, Bryan came (a little early) and made a quick inspection. He was professional and friendly. He explained in detail how to maintain fireplace and chimney. He was upfront about what's needed and not needed and the prices of everything. At no time did I feel he was "pushing" me toward higher-priced services or products. He quickly mentioned that the chimney was in good shape and clean, and so it didn't need any cleaning. Prices were reasonable except for the liner to patch the cracks at the top of the chimney; at $69 extra it was pretty steep for a 5-minute application of concrete patch, but since I have a fear of heights I wouldn't be able to do that myself. When it was time to pay, I mentioned that I got the referral from Angie's list and that I had a $10 coupon, but I had forgotten to bring the coupon with me. Bryan applied the $10 discount with no fuss. Overall, the service call was excellent, and I recommend this company highly, especially Bryan. I hired Sully to sweep my chimney they discovered some damage to my chimney and cap which I had them repair. They did a great job.

Would not recommend this vendor, completely unreliable. Never showed up for 2 scheduled appointments. The first time he called 1 hour after the scheduled appointment and was rude, the second meeting he just never showed up for and never called.

Brian arrived on time, and was careful in his work. He was polite and professional. Brought in his equipment, including a hepa vacuum. Took off the vent covers and said he would wash them, but I offered to do that. I washed the dust off the vents while he was feeding the vacuum hose into the vents, to clean them out. The vacuum seemed very good, since it did not spout a lot of dust into the air. When he was done vacuuming all the vents he replaced the vent covers. He was here for about 2 hours. The price was as promised. After he left I vacuumed up some bits of paint and dust left on the floor from removing the vents, and then noticed that he had not cleaned out the main air intake at the furnace. I took the grill off and sure enough it was loaded with dirt and dust back there. I cleaned the grill and vacuumed out the air intake space. If this is not included in the price I think it should be. He also did not offer to clean my dryer vent, which other companies do. I asked them not to spray any chemicals in my air vents, since I'm sensitive to just about everything. They complied with that, and said lots of people don't want that. (Another company told me they sprayed phenol in as a mold retardant.) I would use the company again, but I would be more careful asking what is included in the price.

Based on a search on Angie's List, I called Lucky Sully to schedule an appointment to get my chimney swept. Although the person on the phone was nice, he seemed a little confused on the phone almost as if he wasn't used to answering the phone. Not a big deal as we got the appointment set. On the day of the appointment, Brian arrived a little early and set up his gear neatly and efficiently. Upon inspection of the chimney it was discovered that the chimney crown had severe cracks in it and the mortar around the bricks was starting to deteriorate. This was shown to me via digital pictures that he had taken during the inspection. After some discussion with Brian and some price quotes I decided to have Brian fix the crown and I would take care of the mortar myself. After the job was completed he showed me pictures of the completed work to make sure I was completely satisfied and cleaned up his workspace. Brian was a true professional from start to end and I would definitely hire him again. PS: Along with discussing proper maintenance of my fireplace, Brian gave me a great lead on where to get some firewood for a good price!

Everything went well. I am just waiting on the estimate.

It was excellent. He responded to our call almost immeditely (this was right before Christmas, and others told us it would be a couple of weeks). He came out the next day and fixed everything very quickly. He also went on the roof and took video of parts of the chimney that need repair. We're definitely going to use him for that.

We were very pleased with the friendliness and competence of Sully. Everything was great. But be aware: they charge a reasonable amount; they are not a discount coupon company.

Brian showed up as scheduled. Explained what he was going to do and laid out his tools and prepared the area with tarps and other items. After a complete cleaning he inspected the fireplace, the chimney liner and went on the roof to inspect cap and external surface of chimney. He found a small crack in cap that had the potential of permitting water to enter the inside liner and possible inside the house. I authorized the additional cost to repair. Upon completion the area was clean and tidy. All in all a job well done. I don't hesitate to recommend this business.

Terrific. Can't add too much more because I hired them so long ago. I just remember that they were very easy to work with and did a great job.

Came out and removed old cracked rear and side refractor panels. Cut new panels and installed them. Performed Chimney Sweep. I had to have them come back out because the glass doors on the fireplace enclosure were not closing correctly. They corrected the problem right away.

I was very happy with the service. They even showed me images of the ducts. Overall, they were very good!
