Lucky Sully Chimney and Duct Cleaning

I purchased a Big Deal for $129 for chimney sweep cleaning for a condo we rent out. I know it had not been cleaned in 10 years. I also asked Dan to please call me (I was in a different city at the time) and our tenant is not very good about telling us when things need repair. He said the chimney and fireplace were fine, that they just needed a cleaning. However, the dryer vent was leaking and was very dirty and a fire hazard. The dryer vent also needed replacing. Dan replaced the vent for $30 and cleaned the vent for $89, which costs were reimbursed by my tenant.

I purchased a "Big Deal" to get my chimney cleaned and inspected by Lucky Sully. The response and appointment scheduling was very quick. They were able to work around my needs and times and come out to clean my chimney within a week. The technician was prompt, courteous and neat! I couldn't even tell that they had been there. They did let me know that there were minor repairs that needed to be done and gave me a quote for the future repairs. I am very happy with the service and plan to call them to complete the repairs.

I bought a new house and needed to have the chimney swept. I found Lucky Sully's on Angies List and called - luckily they were able to fit me in right away, even though it's now the busy season for chimney sweeping. (Apparently no one thinks to do this in the summer.) They were on time for the appointment and got the work done quickly and efficiently. Not only that, they went the extra mile - they kindly vacuumed out the area under the furnace where the return is, which was absolutely filthy, at no charge, and showed me how to change my furnace filter. I thought the ducts needed cleaning, but they inspected them and told me that they weren't actually that dirty. It would have been easy for them to rack up another job, but they chose to do the right thing. I'll be calling again.

From beginning to end this was a smooth experience and a job well done. We thought we were going to have to spend more money to repair the flue, which had not moved for years, but Brian fixed it at no additional cost. There was no mess and everything turned out beautifully.

When I made the appointment with Scully, he was very nice and accommodating. I rated Brian's punctuality as 'B' because he was late. However, he called to let me know approximately when he would be at my home. He was pleasant and polite during the entire appointment. I would definitely use of this service again and recommend them to all.

Brian came out twice and he is great! My fireplaces look great and I'm happy with their work. The prices were good and I really impressed with Brian. They cleaned out everything and did a really good job.

Mike came out to help us do an inspection on a home we're in escrow for. He was on time, very friendly and professional, and went about his task even though it was a mad house (there were quite a few people running around looking at things). Before we knew it, he was done, and said the chimney was in good condition. He noticed a few cracks, but patched them up (for free - who does that?) and said they weren't anything to worry about. He noticed that the current residents had used the fireplace as both gas and wood burning, and said we should decide on one and just stick with it. If we decide to go the wood burning route, it would be an easy, inexpensive fix to cap the gas. All in all, I would definitely hire Lucky Sully again. They did a great job, honest work, and fairly priced.

The technician arrived promptly. He was friendly, courteous and polite. He worked efficiently. He recommended that an cap be placed on the chimney and the gas pipes to be replaced, however he was NOT pushy, which was refreshing. I knew I needed this additional work to be done sooner than later. He answered all of my questions, so I approved it. He replaced the gas pipes and demonstrated how to start it. I am very happy with the work and can't wait for the cold season to arrive so we use the fireplace knowing it is good to go.

Brian arrived on time and did a great job cleaning all three of our chimneys. He's also assisting in having some more in depth repairs done as well as replacing a chinmey cap. Brian was were mindful not to let any of our pets get outside and also kept all work areas completely clean. (Important with light colored carpets.) I'll be giving Lucky Sully a call for the annual cleaning next year.

Sully was very professional and provided excellent advice by phone at no cost. I would use him should I need chimney service due to his help and expertise provided over the phone.

The technician arrived on time, wearling a uniform bearing the company name, and it included a name patch. He was also wearing a chimney sweep top hat, whcih was a fun touch. He performed the inspection, and recommended a spark arrestor that also has a feature that will trap the warm and cold air in the house to save energy. The work needed was explained and and estimate was provided to me' The work was done quickly, and the technician provided me with the operation manual, and showed me how to work the product. We tested the fireplace as well. The technician cleaned up the work area, and handled all the paperwork professionally.

Arrived exactly on time. Kept everything clean. Made VALUABLE suggestions to us. Will recommend him to everyone. Price was good.

It has been close to 2 months now, and I am noticing that the dust is less in the house. I plan to use them again for regular dryer duct cleaning.

Lucky Sully was on time and went about his work very efficiently. The inspection and cleaning was covered by an Angie's List coupon, but he added two items: installation of a chimney cap and replacement of the clean-out door. Both of these additions were clearly necessary. The chimney had no cap and the old door was badly rusted. This was the only chimney service in this house for at least 47 years, so the cost seems appropriate. I can definitely recommend Lucky Sully for chimney work.

I purchased an Angie's Deal to get chimney swept & iinspected. After scheduling service,I rescheduled due to rain. Michael was prompt and professional. With his tophat & white beard, he was the perfect picture of a chimney sweep. Unlike the fictional sweeps I've read about, Michael was extremely neat & tidy. No soot in the house and the fireplace was spotless when he was done. He inspected the chimney both inside & out, since I was concerned about structural damage from our many small quakes. After giving it a clean bill of health, he very knowledgeably discussed various options for making our fireplace more heat efficient. I would certainly recommend Lucky Sully's service.

This was the easiest of all service providers I have work with through Angie's List. Bought the deal, they contacted me the next day to set the appointment. They showed up on time and did a egret job. I will use and recommend Lucky Sully again.

We bought the Angie's Big Deal for $129. Mind you, we've been in our home for 15 years and have never had our chimney swept or inspected. They were very prompt in contacting us to make an appointment. Brian came out and did a very good job cleaning the chimney, He said he could see some cracks in 3 places and advised us to eventually replace the liner.I later wished I had been able to somehow see what he was talking about and view the cracks myself. I called and asked if that would have been possible. I spoke with Dan, who said that they would send someone out again and bring video equipment. We scheduled another appointment (They were very good about communicating through email and setting it up.) Michael came out a few weeks later (in March) and I was charmed that he was wearing a top hat, like Bert, the chimney sweep in Mary Poppins! That was great! I liked him immediately, and he was very friendly, yet professional. He put down tarps to protect our wood floor and then set up the video equip, so the inside of the chimney could be viewed through his laptop. He then proceeded to show me all the areas of the chimney and explain exactly what he was doing and seeing (and I could see it also). He also took a lot of time to answer all my questions. Yes we did find some cracks- and I was able to see them. So now we know to be careful about how and what we burn, so as not to overheat those cracks and endanger the wood framing beyond the chimney area. The best case scenario would be to replace the liner, but we really can't afford it right now. Michael also told me about how regular chimney cleaning will prevent the soot from building up and causing chimney fires. I appreciated the extra time he took and the fact that they were willing to drive out a second time from Orange County (no charge). Yes, we will definitely use them in the future.

I had expressed interest in fireplace logs when they came out to clean my air ducts after another contractor's job to remodel my fireplace. Lucky Sully called me the day after they cleaned my air ducts and we scheduled a time for them to come out and install a gas fireplace log set that I had selected from a website they recommended. They ordered the logs and came out about a week later to install them and teach me how to use them. They're an hour away from my home and Brian arrived a little later than the scheduled time (LA traffic?!?), but called to let me know he was on his way. The installation took about an hour. He covered the floor before starting and did not leave any mess to clean up. Finally, my fireplace is ready to be used for the first time since the house was built. 6/6/12 update: I called them at the end of May, more than two months after LS installed the gas fireplace logs, because the back wall of the fireplace had started chipping and peeling. When they came out a day or two later, I suddenly realized they had not installed that part of the fireplace and were in no way responsible for the problem because It had been done by someone else. Brian fixed it anyway, at no charge, and even left me the materials to repair it myself next time (which I undoubtedly will need to do because of the other person's sub-standard work). This company is fabulous!
