Ace Construction & Plumbing

Recently I had a slab leak in my home. When I saw a promo on Angie's List for whole house re-pipe, I hopped on it. I paid more for copper and Mike provided Type L which is thicker and what I was looking for. I was unable to get a crew to start on the project quickly due to an impacted schedule, but Mike was very responsive and provided a temporary solution. He sent his plumber over to change the valve in front of my home to stop the leaking from continuing into the home. When the project did start, two workers arrive on time every day and went to work immediately. It took a little longer to complete than estimated, but Mike did stay in contact and keep me inform of the status. We ran into a few issues; however, Mike never ignored my concerns and was able to work things out or come up with a satisfactory solution. At the end, Mike provided new faucets for my showers, tubs and things are working well in the house. Because we were able to resolve any issues that did arise, I decided to give Ace Construction a good rating - not the best, but very good so 4/5. Would I recommend Ace Construction again? Yes, fairly priced and Mike very responsive to my important concerns. One final note to new customers, if your project requires permit, ensure you get the details hammer out before the project starts.

It turned out fine. I liked the fact that I purchased most of the materials, so I know where my money went. And I liked the fact that they went with me to purchase things. Mike was very good about meeting me at tile places and helping me to choose tile and different items. Mike was pretty responsive and they were punctual. I would use them again if I had anything else to do.

Found ACE in Angies list search. Scheduled a day and time for Mike to view the area in need of modification. He did show up and spent 30 seconds in the room then left saying a price for the work would be sent. I contacted Mike at ACE too many times and finally he sent in a quote which was inline with other quotes I have for the work. Unfortunately, It is my experience that if your having difficulty before the work starts it will be worse during and after if there are issues.

Provider was very good at communicating and keeping us updated on project. They were punctual and started on time and finished within 2 hours. They left the project site cleaner than it was when they started. Did a very professional job. Would hire them in the future.

We purchased a "Big Deal" for 8 hours of general contractor work with Ace Construction on 1/26/14. My husband called and spoke with Mike. They scheduled a tentative appointment. Mike was supposed to call to confirm. Well, he never called us. For the next 2-3 weeks, my husband kept calling,leaving messages.We had not been contacted by Mike during this time. Finally, by 2/27 we were done. We contacted Angie's List, asking about a refund. Low and behold, Mike called and left us a message the next day. We decided to give him another chance. We continued to play phone tag for two more weeks. So, my husband left a final message, detailing times we were home, all evenings, not too hard to get us! Mike called the next morning, leaving a message that he was going out of town and would call us when he returned. That was on March 14th. We have never heard from him since. We contacted Angie's list and got a refund.

Everything turned out well. They were prompt and professional, had good designs, and were easy to contact. Ultimately, we weren't ready to have the work done, but we would possibly consider them for the job.

The work performed by Mike's team of Alex and Oscar was excellent and efficient. They were able to assess my needs. Evaluate whether they could be addressed before proceeding. They also gave me suggestions on possible alternatives. As far as price, this was my 1st experience with a contractor. I believe it was fair. Their work was excellent and I would consider hiring them again for future projects.

The workers on the project were great. All of the work met my expectations and they communicated well at each step what they were doing and what work was left to do. They also were looking for ways to make the project better, adding places for a hose bib, for instance, that I had not thought of. At each step their concern was to ensure that I would happy with their work long after they left the project. There were also careful to clean up each night before they left for the day.

We are still considering their proposal. Getting a quote from them was very straightforward and professional. They were very good, but I think their price was too high. I might use them again in the future if we can agree on a better price.

Based on the description of the ad I was expecting a consultation where they would look at my kitchen and mock up a few different renderings with color schemes, styles, etc. The owner said that the "renderings were more of a new layout to rearrange or redesign a kitchen.

After I placed my order for the consultation meeting, he emailed that he would call me on Monday. I had to call him on Wednesday, because he forgot about me. During the consultation, he took text messages and texted back, telling me to continue talking, but he clearly was not listening to me, as I had to repeat myself later. I felt that he was not interested in my ideas about what i wanted in countertops and the changes I wanted in cabinetry, and instead was steering me in some other, very conventional, direction. He took a few measurements and left after about 20 minutes. The 3-D printout he made was very quickly done; the proportions of the items portrayed are so off-base that this is useless as a picture of what my future kitchen could look like. He forgot to include an oven in the rendering. He arrived a half-hour late for our second meeting, without the courtesy of calling to warn me. When I make an appointment, I am punctual, so that annoyed me. I do not yet know if his estimated cost is reasonable or not. I am working now with a great contractor, but still in planning stages, no contract seen yet, so I can't compare. UPDATE: Mike came back to my house with a much nicer 3-D rendering. Still using another contractor.

I called Mike to get an estimate for plans to be drawn up. He returned my call immediately. He came by to look over the areas to be remodeled and mentioned that his crew could do the work, too. He emailed two estimates within a couple of days. One estimate was for the garage and the other for the bathroom which needed a shower to be torn out and replaced. He provided other ideas on what we could do with the bathroom which I liked but don't have the budget for. I thought his prices were fair. Since I really only needed the drawings and not the work, I didn't end up hiring him. However, he was very pleasant and I would consider him if I needed work done as well.

I really appreciated mikes attention to detail. He made sure to make sure my concerns were addressed and the service I requested and purchased were delivered and provided on time and on budget. They showed up just early enough to be on time and respected my time and needs. I'd highly recommend his company. I've hired him for other work already.

We engaged Mike again for additions to the existing structure. He was very professional and engaged with us right from creating a detailed plan , getting approval from HOA and City and completing it one week before the agreed time. His team consists of very experienced, friendly & flexible individuals. We added two rooms to the existing structure and he did a fantastic job. My friends were really surprised to see the quality work and that too getting completed before the agreed time line. In the process of construction we had to make some changes and mike was very flexible and supported through those changes. He is very professional, always on time. If he says he comes at some time or meet us at some place at some time he is always there on time. Very engaged in the whole process. Any time recommend him for any construction work.

Beautiful material and workmanship. Very professional and trustworthy. I hired them immediately for another job and was satisfied again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It didn't turn out so good. The first time I was scheduled to meet with him, he didn't show up. The second time I gave him an overview of what I was trying to do and he said that it was outside the nature of the ad. It was, in fact, so I was okay with that. We negotiated a higher price than what the deal price was and I was fine with that. It took a few weeks to get anything done and it wasn't up to my standards when he did the first pass back at it. We ended up separating. He was a nice guy. I wouldn't complain about it because some things just don't work out. I didn't have any additional costs. I had sent him a check for additional services and he sent the check back. I would use him again.

I did not actually use them for anything. The experience was alright. It took a while for him to get me the quote, but other than that it was good. The quote did not really seem realistic to me. The amount he gave as an allowance for backsplash, counter top and cabinets did not seem like enough so it did not seem like a realistic quote in the end. There was no charge for the estimate.

I think I misunderstood the offer to be honest so when he showed up I was a little bit perturbed by the fact that I have not read that correctly. He is very good about following up. He was trying to schedule. He showed up and looked at the garage, but I thought that he could help us to do rendition of our garage and what he does his garage conversion. I didn't know that you had to be willing to convert your garage. I just wanted okay this is what I have. I don't really want to convert it. I just want to have it designed and what it could look like with some cabinet and things and so he was talking about conversion and I said it is legal for me to convert this garage and I don't want to do something illegal and I didn't know that it is legal and if there were three garage then you convert the single one and I didn't know that. He was very good about calling back. I initiated within about ten days of the deal. I initiated the call and he called back and try to make an appointment. He called quite a few times in and then we were able to meet up so he was very professional. I thought he was quoting about $8000 for the work. The price is just exorbitant. I would not use them again in the future.

Mike and his crew were professional, hard working and communicative. Saw or talked to Mike everyday, was always updated on both sides with any situation big or small and overall very happy with the results. Will be using the company for another project in near future and will use them for other projects down the line.

He provided a detailed 3D diagrams for the extension and he was excellent and very professional. He came as agreed and was very clear on his communication and spent quality time listening to us what we wanted and also shared his ideas. Overall I was very satisfied.

Mike was great. Very customer-service oriented. He always tried to make sure I was happy with the outcome of each step, start to finish. And the final product is excellent. He and his guys did a great job at a reasonable price. The only thing that was frustrating was I'd pointed out to him how important it was that the project be completed in the 2 week time frame he promised, because I had had a horrible experience in the past with a home remodel where I was told a project would take 6 weeks and it took closer to 6 months for the final touches to be completed and the job totally finished. I did NOT want to go through that kind of experience again. It took Ace four weeks to complete my kitchen, which would not have been as frustrating because I realize things happen and unforseen problems crop up, but, for the 2 extra weeks, for half of the work days in those weeks no one showed up to do any work on the kitchen. If those days had had workers present and working, then I would guess the project woujld have been completed in three, not four weeks, and only been a week overdue and not two. But, all in all, the end result is great, Mike was very nice throughout, the workers at the house were always cordial, and I'd use them again and recommend them to others.

Discussed garage layout & new requirements.

The sales representative was prompt, courteous, and honest. I am waiting to see if I can get this job permitted, but this appears to be an honest, reputable company.

A representative for the company called right after purchasing the $49 offer. We set an appointment shortly after. Mike arrived right on time. My idea was to convert the third smaller garage into a work room. Mike measured the room and share ideas which included adding a dividing wall, drywall and insulation, closing the garage door and install a large window and double door access to the garage. . A couple of weeks later I received 2 very detailed and well presented folders, one with printouts of the plans (flat and 3.D) and another detailing material and labor quote, which in my case was about $10,985 At this point we have decided not to pursue this project, however thanks to the work done by this company well have a pretty good idea of what we can do.
