Description of Work: Over the years, Saddler has added and upgraded numerous electrical outlets in my kitchen, dining, living room, and home office. Sid the owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and explains his work plan well. They are neat and clean up is done after each job. Sid Saddler is my go to electrician.

Description of Work: Beware of their pricing strategy. He sent 3 men to my house to exchange a chandelier and exchange (not install new) 6 outside light fixtures. Owner did not come himself but sent a true electrician, his inexperienced son who kept asking for help, and a trainee. Price: $100-150 per hour per man. I complained and Sal took off maybe $200 or $300. This is true. I have my receipt. I was planning to report him but I am a single hardworking professional women and wanted to forget about my own inadequate ability to stand up to his son who was the talker. The work was okay but I had another handyman come back and readjust timers. I found the company on Yelp which gave good scores. Maybe he since changed his pricing but now I am very skeptical of Yelp's reviews. I really think the son found a way in me to make A LOT of money. The total job with some of the extras I didn't mention should have been no more than $600.00. One extra was helping me change a light bulb in another ceiling fixture. They postponed another job and used up their day on my clock. I was so shocked at the price but as I said Sal only budged a little, what company would give back almost $3000.00- maybe a honest one. I am very pleased Angie's List contacted me for my experience since I tried to forget it but wanted to warn other consumers. I hate to sound sexist but this would not have happened to a man. Description of Work: The owner arrived to fix 2 small items, but spent his time evaluating every aspect of my home and trying to sell me on a total rewiring package. I did accept his bid on some of the additional work, but not everything he suggested. The staff who actually did the work were just great.

Description of Work: Sattler did this work some years ago -- replaced an interior ceiling light, rewired and replaced an exterior porch light, and added motion detected floodlights outside. | |Many years later (maybe 10?), all the work that they did works perfectly -- in my opinion a great measure of good work. In fact, I have a couple of electrical projects coming up and anticipate calling them again.

Description of Work: Sid Sattler came to give me an estimate to replace/upgrade my electrical service to a 125amp service from an old FPE panel, add two exterior outlets, a motion sensor light, rewire two kitchen outlets and add a 30amp service to my garage. He appeared very disinterested in my project, and gave me a verbal quote of $25,000 +. I asked him to write this up with itemization of the parts and labor. I never received a followup written quote from him. I received three other quotes from other licensed electricians in Oakland, and for the same apples to apples comparison of work, their quotes were approximately $5k. I suppose if I was super rich and $25k was a drop in the bucket, I stil wouldn't have hired him. Such a huge discrepancy, but not at all surprised after seeing others have a similiar issue with Sid Sattler's off the wall estimates.

Description of Work: Sid Sattler visited my house for a consult. He was very professional and informed, but the prices quoted were well above other bidders, so didn't go beyond the consultation visit.

Description of Work: Considered using this service, but decided against it when the owner kept calling me to set up an appointment after I requested information over the phone. I had told him that I would call him if I wanted him to perform the work.

Description of Work: They hung temporary light fixtures, discussed further work. Getting in touch with them, setting up appointment, etc. was hard.
