THE SPRINKLER TECH

Very well. This is my go-to guy for all sprinkler issues. He always knows what he is doing and fixes the problem for a reasonable cost. I have used this company for several sprinkler system repairs and extensions over the last two years.

Carlos did a great job of evaluating my inadequate sprinkler system, changing the connection from the house water pressure to the city side, installing new heads, and adjusting the other heads to give the lawn and trees more coverage.

When I called him, he was out of town but answered his cell phone and promised to get back to me when he returned. He did just that and we made an appt. for the next week. We met and discussed my lawn sprinkler problems. He accessed the problem and came back and worked on them. He's a very nice, professional man. I'd call him again in the future.

We moved into a new house and realized within a few days that the sprinklers, while working, were not automated, and that the previous owners had merely been using the pressure knob to turn them on manually. Additionally, the automatic sprinkler control, while connected, was not working properly, and the lines connecting it to the automatic sprinkler valves were not secured and working properly. I called Sprinkler Tech to give them the story, and even though Carlos was on vacation he gave me a call back within a day to setup a time to meet and get some more info from me on what needed to be done. Carlos came out to the house (on time) and gave a once-over of the current state of the system, tested all the sprinklers and their valves, and then gave me the various options of what we could do, after stating the system was in good shape, it just needed a tune up. I also had the following Friday off for the labor day holiday, and was hoping this was a good time to have him do the work, and this happened to work out for him too. He showed up on time on that Friday, went through all the work, and found a lot of issues he was able to correct (one of the sprinkler pipes had been cracked underground and I had never noticed since there was no visible spray of water other than the sprinklerhead, though that explained why water would pool on that part of the sidewalk, and he was able to fix this as well). Carlos tuned and replaced most of the sprinklers (they all seemed rather old, some wouldn't flow properly, some would not retract, and most of them were not spraying up high enough to water the lawn well and efficiently). In short, within about 4-5 hours Carlos had the system running very well, and completely automatically. One thing I did notice is that he used regular wire caps for the connection to the automatic sprinkler valves, when I have heard it is best to use water-proof wire caps for corrosion and exposure to the elements, but all in all that's fairly trivial and easy enough for me to do (I've already gotten the waterproof caps, just need to replace them). However, as I said, this is fairly trivial, though I did find it a bit surprising (though maybe this isn't a common practice, as I had heard, since I'm admittedly no sprinkler expert...it was just what I heard prior to dealing with a sprinkler/lawn professional). All in all, the service was great, no complainst, I easily feel like I got what I paid for, and would definitely use Sprinkler Tech again. I've also gotten a few hours a week of my life back since I don't have to manually run the sprinklers every few days on schedule, and that is worth quite a lot to me. Highly recommended (and, in fact, I have recommended Sprinkler Tech to a friend who just bought a new house in Highland Park). And our backyard is not yet setup for automatic watering, and Sprinkler Tech will be the first people I call when we get that done (probably in the next year or so).

Carlos The Sprinkler Tech is the utmost professional. Buttoned up and on it. Made an appointment to come for an estimate, showed up as promised, on time, in the cleanest truck I've ever seen and knew his stuff. He saw how our sprinklers where ruining our stucco and wetting the deck. Not to mention my car in the driveway and any car parked on the street. He emailed the estimate in a reasonable turnaround. I called 3 weeks later and booked him to do the job. Again he showed up on time with everything he needed on the hottest day possible. Did the job in exactly the amount of time he estimated, 3/4 of a day. Over the course of 8 months we had a couple of re-occuring problems with one of the valves. A faulty part I presume. Both times I just call, he comes out (I never had to be here), no fuss, no muss, everything's taken care of. And I know if we have any other problems it will always be the same pro attitude. No question. I could have had my mow and blow gardener do the job. But you get what you pay for. I'm so glad I paid for The Sprinkler Tech instead. No wonder mow and blow gardeners hate his guts.

I would not recommend him. He came out twice. The first time was to give me an estimate and the second time I wanted him to do part of it. I figured it would be less than half price for him to do one section. He first said he would do the work for $200 but when he came by he wanted $600 for one section so I told him to forget it. He completely changed and I was ready for him to do the work. I thought it was only going to be around $100 for the one section. I don't know if he just didn't want to do the work because it didn't make any sense. He was late both times that I called him and he took up my time.

I am happy with job he did and would use him again.

It happens to the best of us, but Carlos didn't respond to my phone call for more than one week. Maybe the distance was too far. I mentioned in my message that I live in La Canada. By the time he contacted me, I had hired someone else.

Arrived about 2 hrs after I called and completed the work in about one hour.

He told me he would call me back to set up a time to come over. Unfortunately, he wrote my phone number down wrong so he couldn't call me back as promised to set up an appointment. The next day he showed up at my house (he wrote my address down right) apologizing profusely that he hadn't called me back. He seemed like a very nice person. In the meantime I had another sprinkler guy come over and gave him the job. I would use Carlos in the future.

The main valve of our sprinkler system was leaking. We called a number of companies to see if someone could take a look same day. Carlos had a busy schedule but made time for us and provided an honest assessment of the problem. He repaired the valve instantly. He then helped us to make adjustements to our sprinkler heads to ensure the system was working efficiently. Carlos charged us fairly for the service and we would definitely call him back for future services. Thank you, Carlos!

It went pretty well. Only two minor complaints. He was originally scheduled to come by and do it on Friday but never came because he had an emergency he had to go to - which is fine - but I would have appreciated a call letting me know instead of getting home and scratching my head as to why the sprinkler looked the same. Also, he originally said that he was able to fix one other part of my sprinkler system but then realized when he was about to work on it that it would be too expensive to do with the original quote so he didn't do that part of the work. But he didn't tell me this information - it just looked like it was forgotten. So my main comment would be communication with the customer and keeping expectations - if something changes please let the customer know as soon as possible so they aren't confused or thinking that they were blown off or part of the job wasn't done and ignored. But Carlos was very nice and he got the job done quite well. The grass will need some time to repair but that's to be expected. I'd use him again.

Carlos took care of an unexpected sprinkler problem for us on Mother's Day weekend. We were wasting large amounts of water due to a faulty valve and Carlos came out and fixed the problem while my wife and I went about our weekend. Excellent service and excellent results. I highly recommend his services.

We were delighted that Carlos had the ingenuity and forethought to re-route the sprinkler system, which saved us a considerable amount of expense. It's so difficult to find professionals in their field like Carlos who go the extra-mile to make the experience a win-win for the homeowner. This is the second job Carlos has performed for us, and we found he's very professional and a delight to work with.

Not well. We set aside time in our day to meet with Carlos and did not hear from him. We did not call him because we didn't feel that he would be a reliable candidate to do the job.

I called Mr. Ruiz and he called back within a day or less. We made an appointment for March 29th at 3P.M. It was a beautiful day to be outside. He never showed, no phone call. He called the next day or the day after and told me his computer crashed and he couldn't reach me. His excuse is plausible but it didn't sound authentic to me and I choose not to believe his story. When he realized I wasn't going to schedule another appointment, he kept repeating, "my computer crashed." If his story is true, he will in the future write down on a piece of paper the number of the potential customer, or check his phone log, if his story is not true he can't use the excuse to another Angie's list member. I think his repeating of the computer crashing was based on the fact I told him in my original message I was an Angie's List member. I was very disappointed because his expertise is what I needed. I didn't want to leave any grade at all to be fair to Mr. Ruiz but to complete the report I had t leave one, so I left a C.

I couldn't have been happier with his efficiency, his acumen, promptness and his price!

Carlos had given us a bid once before on lawn irragation work at family members home that we were trying to get in shape to rent, but other matters prevented us from going forward with the project. When we finally got around to it, he came out and gave us another bid, he was professional and didn't seem to be irritated by having to come back. After we recieved the second bid, we wanted to make some changes and I called him to discuss it, again no problem. When we told him that we wanted to use his services, he came back for a jobwalk to make sure we were all in agreement about what was going to be done. He showed up to start work on time, completed on time and the work was exactly as he told us it would be. Carlos is a very likable man and shows a lot of integrity in his work, he wants the customer to be satisfied with final product. He also takes the time to walk you through the changes, and will come back to assist or repair any problems you find or if you forgot how to work the timer. I recommend him highly, his price is reasonable, he's easy to deal with, and explains everything. Now we have to get him over to our house to work on some additions to our system.

Carlos of Sprinkler Tech, was punctual and thorough. I liked that he was direct and straight forward. I also found his price to be very reasonable compared with a few other companies who gave me bids. Carlos didn't recommend anything that wasn't needed. They were able to get to my job within two weeks. His workers were courteous and professional. I thought that overall, they did a very good job. One thing I especially appreciated is that Carlos came back to my house several times after the job was done because I wanted a few things calibrated differently. He didn't charge me for any of the service calls that followed the job. He really saw the job through the end. My only slight complaint is that on the day of the job, I didn't think they spent quite enough time fine tuning the sprinklers once those were installed.

He showed up right on time, diagnosed the problem and said he could fix it right away. 20 minutes later the problem was gone. He was a nice guy, didn't overcharge me and I've got sprinklers that work now.

I think the price was good and overall I was happy with the service.

He was pleasant to deal with, all is working well now and we are satisfied. We would hire him again.

The experience was good and he did a good job. He was prompt in giving his estimate and the estimate was right on. He finished the job in two days.

Carlos' team is very quick, completing all the work in 2 days. Their execution was good, although I had to re-plant some ground cover that was either uprooted and forgotten or not re-planted deeply enough to survive. The team also returned (without charge or complaint) to move some sprinkler heads that were inadvertently placed on my neighbor's property. In hindsight, I would probably have gone with all pop-ups since the uprights may end up getting knocked over by my gardeners. Also, uprights were placed in a planter along the driveway where they are easily seen. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy. FYI, I also considered a more expensive system (50% more) that was more water efficient, using rotating sprinkler heads and drip hose that delivered water directly to the base of my plants whereas Carlos' system covers the entire yard equally, which means that mulched areas I would otherwise leave dry get wet. That system also used a "smart" timer that calculated the amount of water to deliver based on prevailing weather conditions and the type of soil/plants. Had I possessed the money, I might have gone with this more expensive system which would have taken approximately two weeks to install.

I left a message on his phone. He responded promptly and came to estimate the job a couple of days later. He started the job about 10 days later. He came the afternoon on June 9. He completed the job the next morning. He was hard working and was very good at adjusting the sprinklers.
