Description of Work: A/C unit had not been performing to par for a couple weeks. The place that had originally been scheduled canceled last minute. Although it was a Saturday morning, Around The Clock was able to squeeze me in. Very thankful for this as we were having a heatwave. The technician went on the roof, and added a bit of freon. We were on our way!

They arrived within an hour of the time frame they set up. The technician explained in detail what was going on with our a/c and what needed to be replaced. Did a great job and kept the work area clean. I did think the price was a bit high but considering the work and overall experience was great, I was willing to pay.

The worker came early during the 3-hour window I was given, inspected the unit, gave me a quick price to replace the broken component, and completed the work within an hour. The price seemed reasonable.
Description of Work: Replaced burned out combination run/start capacitor on condensing unit, which had caused the A/C system to fail.

Technician was neat & professional, showed up at 10 am (apt window was 9-12). He explained in great detail what he diagnosed, what he was going to do & why. Since the AC was 25 years old & I expected to be sold a new unit I was happy to hear that the unit still had 3-5 years in it & he wasn't doing a pitch for selling a new one. The service call took 2 hours total.
Description of Work: My central air conditioner was not working. Technician diagnosed burned out transformer & put in new one along with a line fuse so power surges wouldn't fry the unit. There was a short in the low voltage cable so he had to rewire it. He checked everything else out, said coolant was fine.

Excellent responsiveness and service. Estimator explained options thoroughly, offered very fair price. Scheduled work promptly, around my schedule. Team of installers were pleasant, highly efficient and very careful. They arrived on time, did what they promised very well, cleaned up after themselves and generally did an outstanding job. Would definitely hire again.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced furnace, including ducting. Also replaced water heater on same day (see separate recommendation).

I was frustrated. I picked a firm within the zip code with good Angie's reports. They were nice enough on the phone, but they didn't show up 2 days in a row. This was particularly vexing since we are a small church in a residential size building; after my first call to them, we had to pack 80 people in for a wedding in 100 degree heat with no A/C! Now it's 4 days after my first call & I've gotten nowhere in fixing the problem. Needless to say, I am hot & bothered! Argh!
Description of Work: Our A/C failed. No work was performed; they didn't show up 2 days in a row within the 4 hour time window they specified (even an hour later than that). The first day I called at the end of the 4 hour window; they said that they had called me to say the technician was ill; but I received no call & there was no message on my machine. The second day I confirmed that they were coming at the beginning of the time window; by the end of the 4 hours it was still a no-show. I called again; they said he was stuck in traffic & would be there in 20 minutes. I called to cancel when he hadn't shown up an hour later.

We now have a larger, MUCH quieter and much more efficient system that works wonderfully! The guys work very fast. Our house is 2000 square feet and everything was finished in 2 days. Each day the workers laid protective coverings over our floors and cleaned up when they left. All old material was removed. Really terrific company!
Description of Work: Replaced 30+ year old central air conditioning and heating system, including duct work, condenser, grills, etc. Placed new coil system in our attic instead of in an inside closet, freeing up storage space for us.

They were very polite, worked quickly, and very accommodating. I misunderstood the contract that we were supposed to pay the asbestos guys, and I sent the deposit to Around the Clock, but they quickly worked it out with the other company and took care of it. They also didn't rip out our old thermostats, but came back quickly when I called to have them finish that. They installed the new return, but we had to patch up the drawer ourselves. But we didn't hire them as carpenters so that makes sense. Their work was good, and they were very friendly and accommodating, so I would recommend them.
Description of Work: They had subcontractors remove all the old asbestos covered ducting, removed 2 old 1950's gas heaters, installed new duct work, new heater, new programmable thermostat, and a new return.

The repairman was on-time and courteous. He performed a thorough diagnostic evaluation. He let me know what he thought was most likely the problem, and was honest enough to say that there could be other problems which would require more time/materials if his diagnosis was incorrect/insufficient. He cleaned up after himself without prompting. I felt very good about the overall experience and grateful that the problem could be attended to on a weekend with little notice.
Description of Work: Our home heat was not working properly on a cold Saturday in winter. The 16 year-old thermostat was to blame and was replaced.
