Mr. Al Uchitel asked me to email him pictures of the units and the rooftop. I sent four high resolution images. He praised for the clear pictures, but later said that they could not do the work. Update on 03/07/2014: The owner's response was inaccurate. It was not at all about getting it done "right away." In fact, we wanted to wait until the raining season to be over before starting removing the ductwork. The project was not urgent, and we could have waited for 2 weeks if that had been the only issue.

Mike Campbell came out to give me an estimate the previous year and was very thorough in explaining the problems. He wrote up a detailed estimate, was very professional and personable. This year I called him again, he updated the estimate, explained the options very clearly and answered all my questions (I had a lot of questions since I'm not very knowledgeable on this subject). I called him several times during the process, he was always quick to return the call and polite with good information. He left the written estimate with me the same day. By contrast, another company gave me a verbal estimate that was cheaper, but it did not include taking care of the permits, inspections and the rebates. I asked for a written estimate and was told it would be e-mailed it to me. We suffered through the coldest period of the winter with no heat and no written estimate. I called, asked for it again a month later and still have not recieved an estimate. The men installing the system were prompt, hard working, polite and cleaned up their mess. They even took away an old water heater that had been previously disconnected and left by another worker a couple years before. After the work was completed, they swept up the floor and made sure all trash and old parts were cleaned up and removed. The company threw in the ducting for free! They automatically wrapped the ducting in insulation material which saves energy. They also filled out the rebate forms with all the appropriate documentation. The company pulled the permit and will be setting up the inspection. This sure makes the homeowner's life a lot easier when going through the whole process! I will definitely call them for any new problems, but since it's all brand new, I don't expect to need them soon!

ATC performed excellent work installing a new furnace, attic ducts, A/C, and vents in my home. They were courteous and professional, and made the work as easy on me as possible. Mike Campbell is the go-to guy for excellent service. He "held my hand", informing me of my various options in a low-pressure manner that put me at ease and made me confident I'd chosen the right company. Mr. Campbell was also very accessible whenever I had questions or concerns. ATC is listed under the California FLEXPATH program (not all air conditioning companies are), and Mike C. helped me to fill out the various forms that resulted in California sending me $3000.00 back, as part of their energy-saving incentives. The 3K is considered income, so taxes must be paid on the money, but still, it was great to receive the $$. (I also received around $400.00 back from the DWP in the form of an energy-saving rebate. The work took around 3-4 days if I recall, and ATC was very mindful of protecting the inside of my home from dust. 5 STARS for a job well done!

I was disappointed that a vendor that we had counted on told me to call someone else.

My heating unit stopped heating on the coldest night of the year. I called them (got their name off the list). They were here in a couple of hours and quickly diagnosed the problem as a failed igniter. replaced it at a very good price and was in and out in 30 minutes. Excellent service, excellent price.

They were very professional and prompt. They were up front with costs and all of the details and they did a very clean and efficient job. They continue to service our system twice a year for a very reasonable cost and replace filters when needed. I would absolutely recommend these guys!

I had repairs made on our heater by another company and spent $400. the same problem occurred within a few weeks of the repair. I called Around the Clock and a technician came out within a day or 2. He assessed the work of the other contractor, which he said was satisfactory, identified the problem, and repaired the heater. He also checked the wiring in the thermostat and found a problem there, which he also fixed. He was very knowledgeable and personable and did an excellent job, looking at the whole situation, rather than just the specific issue I had raised. I would highly recommend him.

The heater was blowing out cold air and wouldn't turn off unless I turned off the circuit switch. The repairman went up into the attic to check the unit and discovered it needed a new ignition. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago, and so far it has been working fine. I would definitely use this company again. The repairman was courteous and explained to me exactly what had gone wrong and showed me the old ignition so I could see that it had burned out.

I called with a problem -- my heat wasn't working on the coldest day of the year, A technician came out almost immediately (he fit me into his schedule) and efficiently diagnosed and repaired the problem and even offered me advice for the future longevity of my central heating system. I was impressed and my house had heat -- all within 2 hours of placing the call.

Was very pleased with everything from start to finish and would highly recommend this company. My husband and I knew very little about heating and air conditioning and Michael was very patient and informative and always available to take our calls and explain more if needed. We were very specific about a few things we wanted in the contract and both Michael and Al, the owner, were extrememely accommodating and respectful of our requests. The job was completed in under two days, just as they had said, and the workers were very pleasant and worked hard at getting in and out as fast as possible. I happened to have a contractor friend over just as they finished the installation and he said he took a peek up in the attic and was very impressed by how clean everything was. Heat is running great. We are toasty and warm and so happy to have had Around the Clock to guide us through this process so smoothly!

Repair person arrived on time. He checked the heating system and throughly explained the problem and the cost for the repair. Gives 1 year guarantee which is fantastic. Will definitely use again.

I was very pleased with the entire process from the estimate provided by their consultant, Mike Campbell, through the installation and the correction of a minor electrical problem that showed up immediately after the installation was completed. Mr. Campbell was there every step of the way including helping with the necessary forms to apply for all the rebates that I was entitled to receive by virtue of the high efficiency equiptment that I purchased. The L.A. City Building Inspector who came out to review the permitted work was very complimentary about the neatness and apparent quality of the attic installation. My house heats and cools faster and the unit is much quieter. A very professional job for which I could not be happier.

They were very prompt and they did the work when they said they would and completed the work ahead of time. They worked in a very hot time of the year under extreme conditions and they did a very good job!

Overall, the service was great. Our heating went out and they realized the heating element had just been frozen/frosted and wouldn't light. They were honest and didn't even need to replace the part. The showed is how to fix it it the future. Now our heating works perfectly.

Repair man came and guessed at the fix to my malfunctioning A/C. He replaced a switch for about $250. Within an hour of him leaving I noticed the issue was not fixed. I called and he came out later that week and informed me I would need to replace the entire A/C unit. He was to provide me a quote but I never heard from the company again.

Initial estimator was prompt and explained the estimate well. Scheduling occurred as discussed just and hour later than originally told. Installers appeared to do a good job. Inspection was a bit of a surprise as there was a fairly lengthy corrections list (the inspector was very thorough). Took approximately a week for them to come out and do the repairs but the second inspection went well and all was signed off.

I called Around the Clock on Friday, Dec. 21, after my furnace stopped working. A very nice technician showed up promptly the next morning (the Saturday before Christmas), diagnosed the problem, got the furnace working long enough to heat the house (the induction motor had jammed, which he later showed me -- preventing the furnace from re-starting once it shut itself off) and ordered a replacement part. He found a part in stock in Northridge, picked it up on Monday (Christmas Eve) and brought it right over to install it. He explained the problem throughly -- also explaining the structure of the furnace and the part itself. He even explained why I shouldn't consider a new furnace at this point, saying it had a lot of life left. He even changed the air-conditioning filter while he was at my house. I should point out that I first called my home warranty company on Friday at 7:30 a.m. When no one from the assigned company called me back, I called the warranty company. A "customer service" representative curtly told me that I couldn't even expect a follow-up call until Wednesday, the day AFTER Christmas. Fortunately, my family and I were able to spend the holidays in warmth -- thanks to Around the Clock.

We came home from vacation to find our air conditioner was out. I tried replacing the thermostat myself that night, which didn't fix the problem. I called Around the Clock the next morning, and they were there the same day. The technician helped diagnose the problem, which first involved making sure I'd installed the new thermostat correctly (I had). Eventually he figured out the breakbox on the side of a/c unit had melted (!), replaced it with a fuse box. The technician was helpful beyond simple repairs, giving me tips for the future to figure out if the thermostat is broken or if it's something else. However, he was also little snippy when trying to verify that I'd installed the new thermostat correctly, which I'll forgive him for--I'm sure he'd rather have simply walked in to an untouched unit instead of looking through the work of a do-it-yourselfer.

I requested an estimate, and a person came out and spent some time measuring and discussing options. Oddly, he then emailed to say they weren't going to submit any proposal. I have no idea why. Disappointing.

I had two air ducts in my attic that were severely damaged by birds shredding them to make nests over a period of several years. They needed to be replaced, with new sections of about 6-8 feet patched in between the attic floor (where the birds couldn't get to them). Alex from Around the Clock came out and surveyed the damage. He couldn't do the work because there were too many dead birds and feces mounds. They said once the hazmat stuff was cleaned out, they would try to fix the damage, but it might require some specialist other than them -- they were afraid the damage went down into the walls, which they can't fix. I got everything cleaned out, they came back, and did an outstanding job. The technician, Alex, had figured out a way to attach the new duct sections to the attic floor that would keep me from having to get the walls cut open. He got the work done in about 90 minutes or so, and that was that.

They show up on time and they are really good at sensing out the problem and finding a solution. We haven't had an issue with them at all and I would definitely use them again.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Their bid was competitive and they went the extra mile in locating rebate information and doing the paperwork to obtain one. Because of that, we were able to purchase an energy efficient system for less than the total cost of a cheaper, less efficient system. As for the service, they were able to fit us in quickly, they came when promised and finished up in the time they estimated. They were neat, polite, and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. I would definitely use them again.

We had been without heat all season. We finally got around to doing an Angie's List search and called this company. They had the lowest price for the service call and come the same day. The service technician, Eric, was very professional, no nonsense, and inflicted no hard sell on us. He came in and assessed the problem in a matter of minutes, fixed the unit just as quickly, and tested the system to make sure it worked. He even gave me some tips on using the thermostat more efficiently. Overall, this was an excellent experience. I would definitely call on this company again.
