The heating component of our HVAC wasn't working, even though the air-conditioning was. After taking a look, the technician from Around the Clock informed my wife that the motor was broken and that the entire HVAC unit needed to be replaced. He said Around the Clock would charge $6100 for the service. When she asked him point blank if there was any way to simply replace the broken part, he replied absolutely not. Since the unit is so old, he explained, individual parts for it simply don't exist anymore. We knew the unit was old, as it predated our moving in to the house, so that sounded reasonable enough. However, we called another company, Connors, just to get a second opinion. After performing his own diagnostic, the man from Connors informed us that the entire unit needn't be replaced, just the inducer fan. He pointed out that the A.C wouldn't have been able to work at all if the whole motor was in fact broken, something he said should be obvious to anyone with a basic understanding of an HVAC. As far as fixing it, the guy from Connors simply removed the entire unit from the roof, took it to a specialized store in downtown L.A., located the part and installed it back on our roof. All same day. Total price: $700. I called Around the Clock to request a refund of my $65 service charge which they promptly honored. In the assessment of the technician who's been in the business for 20 years, the part simply didn't exist and he knew of no supplier that had it. They handled my complaint professionally, but their inability to know about the part's existence--and leap to a $6100 charge--makes me question their expertise.

They did not need my business so I canceled

The repairman came on time, He quickly diagnosed the problem. Two days before, I had another furnace repair person, from another company, look at the furnace and that individual told me he just jiggled the wire and then the furnace worked. That repair person told me he didn't know what the problem was. I paid $95 for this information. Two days later my furnace quit again. The repairman from Around The Clock, Igor, told me that the problem was electrical and that the electrical plug and socket in the wall was partially melted. Igor told me that he would use wiring that he had to fix the problem or that I could wait until the next day and have completely new wiring. I chose the first fix. After about 30 minutes the furnace was repaired and I had the partially melted three-pronged plug in my hand. I also learned a great deal about my furnace because I questioned Igor about it. He was very knowledgable and willing to teach me about my furnace.

I called at 6:00 in the afternoon on a Friday--not exactly the best time to be needing a repair to my furnace when the temperature was expected to be 48 degrees that night. Unfortunately, they didn't have any service technicians available for that evening. But they did schedule an appointment for the following day, Saturday, between noon and 3:00 PM. Leon arrived within the agreed upon window of time. He quickly assessed the problem and replaced the capacitor in my furnace. I now have heat again which is a relief! The price was $180 for the repair. This includes the price of the service call as well as the part itself. I have no idea what the breakdown of costs would be as I never asked what the price of the service call would run. The amount I paid may be completely reasonable, or it may be somewhat high. I really don't know, nor do I care since I was freezing and this was one of the only companies I could get to come out on such short notice. One thing I will note is that both my furnace and my air conditioning unit are very old. In the past, other companies have tried to convince me that the only real repair is a replacement of the entire heating and cooling system. And I'm sure they'd love to do that since that job runs in the thousands of dollars. But Leon didn't try to pull any of that nonsense. He got my furnace functioning again simply by replacing a part for less than $200 for the part and service. Regardless of whether that is expensive or inexpensive for what was done, I call it a good deal. I'll definitely use this company again and would happily recommend them to a friend.

I called to arrange service. The woman who answered after five minutes on hold told me they charge $85 and then something I couldn't hear. So I said "say that again." She started yelling the words. I said, "you don't have to yell." And she hung up on me. I guess the company doesn't care about my business. Very rude.

They sent a technician within a few hours, and he quickly found and fixed the problem. I had called several other companies first, and they couldn't send anyone until the next week.

They showed up on time, diagnosed the problem gave me a price. I called around before they showed up and the price was fair, not the lowest or highest. Erick was very professional and did a great job. He provided me with some information as to the age and condition of our current system and provided quotes for a new system if needed down the line. Would use them again if needed.

It's been a year since I got my unit installed and I couldn't be more happy. It's working great and their maintenance visits are top notch! They call me to schedule it, as I wouldn't remember to do it myself- they show up on time, check everything and do a great job. When I was looking to replace my unit I had many different companies give me a quote/suggest the brand and what needed to be done. I picked Around the Clock because they really spent so much time listening to my concerns and coming up with solutions. Mike Campbell was the person who I was dealing with- he's very knowledgeable and made sure I was 100% happy with the job they did, calling and checking in every once in a while. They worked with me with the price- you never feel like they want to "up sale" you something. There were some places in my house that didn't get enough heat and they made the system work in a way, where the temperature is even throughout the house. The unit they helped me pick is energy efficient (my bills didn't go up- and now I REALLY use my A/C and heat:-). They were super nice to deal with, professional and very thorough... I really could not be happier:-)

They did a fabulous job. They were total experts. When they pulled the old duct work out, it was old and rusty, so it was good thing they replaced it. They also put new vents on all the openings. The owner redesigned the duct system so I get equal air distribution throughout my 3017 sq foot one level home. I would like to recommend their representative, Michael Freedman. He was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I was grateful for his recommendation for new duct system. He also helped with all available rebates. We are very happy with them.

Fantastic service from Around the Clock . I called the office today and I spoke with Christine and she immediately tried to have a technician come to my home for today . She was able to have someone at my home by 4:00 pm . Leon was the technician and he was extremely thorough checking all the items and areas regarding my AC unit which is located on my roof. Inside my home he spent time fixing the control switch for my AC & Heating . I would highly recommend " Around The Clock " service .

A mystery: our heater would not kick in during the night when we needed it, but would work during the day when we didn't need it. The technician from ATC arrived exactly on time, and once he heard the noise coming from the heater when it came on, diagnosed the problem as a sick motor, straining to get up to speed. In the cold of night, it could never get to the proper speed for gas ignition to start, but once the day warmed up (the system is on our roof), it managed to do so. It was 16 years old! Time for a change. The technician installed a new motor, and the heater worked, but the true test came at around 5 am this morning, when the thermostat clicked on. The new motor is whisper quiet, and the heat felt great. The entire installation, from intital arrival to departure, took two hours. The technician was very professional, friendly, and willing to explain his analysis, and the reasons behind the cost of service. I'd definitely use ATC again.

The technician did some trouble-shooting, and successfully jumped the furnace to confirm it worked. He said it was either the thermostat or the wiring leading from the thermostat to the furnace that was bad (he wasn't certain which). He quoted $550 to replace both. He emphasized that he couldn't guarantee that if he replaced them and got the furnace working again, something else -- like a valve -- could go out tomorrow. Since our furnace is very old (gravity heat from many decades ago), he suggested we replace it for $7,500. I paid him the $65 service charge, thanked him and sent him on his way. I called a second company -- the technician did extensive trouble-shooting, determined the thermostat and furnace were both working and only the wire needed replacement. He did the work for $175.

Michael Friedman was the greatest! What a pleasure to work with him after dealing with estimates from other companies. Michael was the only one who brought a complete catalog of equipment available and he explained them in detail. The other companies simply sent me an estimate with equipment they chose. Around the Clock's prices beat all the competition by miles. The service was excellent and completely on time. Michael oversaw everything from start to finish, from the removal of the old ducts to the final inspection by the city. He was always in touch and never kept me guessing. He was also very pleasant to work with. Nice guy all the way. I enthusiastically recommend Around the Clock and Michael Friedman.

I would use them for everything and I thought they were excellent. They came when they were supposed to, they were knowledgeable on what they were doing, and they were meticulously neat. They didn't leave a piece of paper, it's kind of a dirty job on my basement but they left nothing behind that they were ever here. I thought their price was fair.

I called Around The Clock in the morning, described that the floor furnace would not start properly and had an appointment right away around noon. Leon, the technician, was punctual and fast. he checked the furnace for problems, re-lit the pilot and checked the thermostat. The heater works great and the tenant is happy. And Leon accepted payment over the phone (Credit card) saving me a trip. The experience was professional, punctual, timely and fast. I would recommend Around the Clock any day and will definitely use them again, thanks, Eddy

I called the office set up an appointment and because it was a sunday asked if the trucks were stocked with parts. The girl on the phone said that they do not carry all parts so I asked specifically about compressor motors and she said that they do NOT carry those on the truck but if it something simple needs to be replaced & they have it on the truck they can replace it that day. If not they would have to come back the next day to finish the job. I set up an appointment for that day and also called another company as well. The second company said that there trucks were FULLY stocked and I felt more assured that this second company would not only be able to fix the problem but TODAY. Around the Clock showed up first, told me it was of course the compressor motor & that it would be $680.00. He said he had one on the truck & could install it right now. This was in contradiction to what I had just been told on the phone, by the way. He called the office, she denied ever telling me that but I specifically asked . I went inside & called the second company & asked how much that the model # compressor motor I needed was & it was $475.00 NOT the $680.00 that Around The Clock was going to charge me! I paid him the service call only. Later that day the second company came & installed it for $475 total as they had said.

Around the clock completed the job in a timely manner. Everything was clearly explained. They suggested that we choose the medium efficient system because the rebates available would almost pay the cost difference and it was the best value between cost versus cost of operation. They prepared and put together all the paperwork needed for the rebates from DWP and the Federal Government. The service was great but the cost was not lower than any other company.

There was a leak in the line carrying the refrigerant, so he gave me two options: 1. Refill the refrigerant @ $55/LB plus $125 labor. So 5 lbs would be $400. 2. Replace the HVAC system for $8,000. We didn't have him do anything, and just paid the $65 service call fee since we didn't want to spend $400 to have the refrigerant refilled only to have to do it again in two years due to the leak. He also didn't recommend trying to fix the leak since the HVAC system was so old (c. 1984), and pressurizing the line would probably cause damage. I gave low marks on price and quality because we had someone else come over and they offered an option of having a leak kit installed. So, the leak was fixed and the refrigerant was refilled for less than $400. Only time will tell if the leak resolved the issue.

I could not be more satisfied. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional, clean, polite and their price was reasonable. I had received several estimates and I am so glad I chose this company! I give them my highest recommendation.

I called at 7:00 AM. I talked to Max, he told me that the circuit breaker should be checked before they came out. I had reset the circuit breakers the night before. he said they would be out to diagnose the issue between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. I received a call from Alex at 9:10 AM. He made a quick check to verify the thermostat and blower were working. The issues was with the condenser - it was not starting. He did a visual inspection of the system and said it was probably the capacitor. He had one with him. He replaced it and the condenser started. He then did a check of the cooling system and found the coolant level was down a little. He recharged the system. Now the system is working as well as it ever has. I gave him multiple opportunities to up-sell and he responded with - the system is working, there is no need to make a change now. Excellent service and responsiveness. The cost was acceptable. I will definitely us this company again.

Should up on time, very professional, knew what he was doing. Will call them again for future service.

Around The Clock rep, Igor, arrived on time. He went up to the roof (it was over 100 degrees that day) and checked out the a/c. He added coolant (which is expensive because it is a very old air conditioner) and made sure it was working afterwords (the rooms cooled townhouse much faster after the service).He then supplied and installed a new thermostat. Everything went really well. Igor knows what he's doing and takes the time to do it right and explain what he's done.

On a hot day the power went out (city problem) and after that the AC did not work anymore. I called Around The Clock and they sent someone within the hour. Very fast response. Igor checked everything out and determined that the power outage had burnt out the thermostat, and that there was nothing wrong with the AC unit. He gave us several options of thermostats we could buy and have installed by him. He installed it and fixed our problem! Took about an hour total. Great work.
