A Mold Specialist

I took this company on the recommendation of our management company for our condo association, as I found no reviews for them on Angie's list, possibly because their home office is in Newhall. Upon learning that Jed had worked often with the mold mediation company I had selected, Alladin Restoration, I was confident that they would coordinate with each other so that this work would get done quickly with no down time in between. Also, interviewing Jed before I hired him gave me confidence as well.
In case the cost of service sounds high, please note that most of it is because of the speed of turnaround for the samples. Jed's inspection was $175 and then he gave me a choice of three turnaround on the samples (with pricing per sample). Standard is 48 hours (which is the cheapest), then there was a 24 hour turnaround, and finally same day or 6 hour turnaround (the most expensive).
I chose the 6 hour turnaround and I do not regret it. My condo is on the top floor of a completely concrete building, facing west with little foliage cover in the San Fernando Valley. Without air-conditioning, the condo can easily have an internal temperature of nearly triple digits, depending upon the temperature outside. The mold had been found in the two walls surrounding the a/c closet as the leak was in the insulation around the shared plumbing (between mine and the condo below) on the a/c unit on the roof. Once the wall was opened, the a/c could not be turned on, or the spores could contaminate the rest of my condo.
I have three cats, one with lung cancer, and if you know cats, they don't deal well with being taken out of their environment. I especially didn't want to stress out my sick cat.
The week before, we had had temperatures outside around 100 and my a/c had been on and off continually far into the night (radiant heat coming off the concrete after dark). I was lucky in that the week I had chosen had an unexpected cool spell. Still, when it was 63 outside (after dark), it was 84 inside my condo, despite having a portable air cooler in the bedroom, a fan in the living room and a ceiling fan in the dining room. Hence, I was quite happy to pay for the fastest turnaround.
Also, the noise of the scrubbers was driving me nuts and stressing out the cats, so I was happy with my choice for that reason.
Jed did a thoroughly professional job and I couldn't have asked for more. Having informed him when the work was started, he was ready to come when I needed him to do the retest. He explained everything I needed to know. He got the samples to the lab so that I had my 'pass' by the end of the day (he phoned exactly when he said he would call me) and could call Alladin to take the plastic and scrubbers away and turn my a/c back on. And I had the written reports emailed to me by the next afternoon as promised.
Because he did the job as he promised and I expected, I would not hesitate to recommend A Mold Specialist and Jed Myers to anyone in need of mold testing.

Jed was a pleasure to work with. He was knowledgeable and explained the process and possible results so that it was easy to understand. Results were provided in a timely manner. The actual test was done on Thursday, July 11th, and I was provided with a fairly thorough hard copy (approx 20 pages) of the results on Monday, July 15th.
