a great job

Great fence. Very high quality job. Carl Arentz is the owner of the company and is on-site supervising the work. I looked at vinyl fencing but there was no comparison to real wood as far as how the fence fit in with the rest of the yard. I thought the price was a lot originally, but vinyl fencing was higher. Other fence companies were lower, but wasn't convinced the quality would be there. Mostly I wanted a sturdy fence that I won't have problems with since I've still got a lot of work to do on the house. Owner did reduce price a little, so over all I was satisfied.

Overall, we're thrilled. Our fence is amazing, and looks absolutely stunning. Carl was the only contractor that we'd spoken to that even thought of offering us 7 feet high instead of 6 feet or 8 feet, 6 feet was too short, 8 feet made us feel like we were in a prison movie 7 feet was just perfect. From start to finish, the crew was prompt, polite, and took extra pains to ensure that our dogs were comfortable and not let loose! We had a neighbor with two dogs as well who we had to coordinate with, and they were great about that. Naturally there are a few issues here and there- cracked boards, messy corners, the occasional nail that wasn't put all the way in, but honestly, overall, we feel that we picked the absolute best fencing company in the valley and the absolute best fence style for us. The interior of it is stained now and looks so good that they are planning on adding it to their album. I've actually had several neighbors come up and ask about it! The bad side: OK, the iron-bound gates look awesome, but there are a few issues with the screws and the locks that are being fixed. There are a few problems here and there with the fence boards that I think could have been avoided if more care had been taken. Possibly most irritating, I had an above ground gas line that I asked them to be wary of (they recommended waiting to have it buried until the fence was done) and now find that the reason that they left the gas line propped up the way they did (on several buckets and against the fence itself) is that they built the fence and found that they didn't have the clearance to lower the line again without causing it damage. So they left it. It's now in a VERY precarious position and I am in the situation of having to have it dealt with this week when I would have preferred to wait. If they'd told me, I wouldn't have been as irritated as I was when I found it out for myself when I tried to move it so that I could stain that section of fence.

The price was higher than the other quotes we got, but Carl was the only one who seemed to know the new building codes regarding gates and pool proximity. That knowledge got him the job.

The work was not perfect but it was really good. I was very pleased with the work. I would recommend them to anyone that needed the service. They showed up on time.

The two man crew was prompt. They worked quietly and quickly. They were able to save the existing gates, which helped with the budget. They installed beefier vertical posts, new chain link, and bumper posts, and left the yard spotless.

They removed the old gates and replaced them with all new posts and hinges. They came out and gave me an estimate and we were able to schedule the work within a couple of weeks. The workers completed the work in less than six hours. They were very good at cleaning up after themselves. I was very pleased with the work. It looks very nice and I haven't had any problems with the gates.

The company arrived on schedule and they were very professional. The fencing was high quality and the posts, etc. were all also high quality material. The job took about four days from start to finish. We were very pleased.

They were quick to return phone calls, showed up when they said they would, and performed the job in the time they estimated. When has that ever happened in the County of Los Angeles?

Carl was prompt in returning our call. He was out to our home within 2 days for an estimate. Carl was the only contractor who actually brought a photo album of his previous jobs with him. This was helpful if you have never installed a fence or replaced an existing one. Carl was very polite, professional and was willing to answer all of my questions. This was refreshing as previous contractors were quick to measure the overall footage and provide only a price, with no real explanation of what the job would entail. Carl deployed 2 men for the removal of the old fence which took one day. On day 2, two additional men were on site to assist with installing the posts, which took one day. Over the next 2 days, they framed and installed the boards for the new fence and installed the lattice. The foreman for the job was Bill. His partner was Jerry. Both were very courteous. Bill was excellent in keeping me abreast of their progress each day. I was very pleased with his attention to detail, willingness to explain what they were doing and to make any adjustments or modifications I requested. As an aside, our neighbor's PVC sprinkler pipe was accidentally nicked and was leaking. Bill and Jerry promptly repaired the pipe. The only issue we had was that Bill had forgotten to inform us of the damaged pipe, which was discovered by us after they had left in the evening. Again, the pipe was repaired 1st thing the following morning. They were a professional, experienced crew and I feel very confident in referring to them to anyone who needs a new fence.

Carl came out the day after I requested an estimate. He arrived exactly when he said he would. He followed-up by faxing me an estimate within two hours. A few days later I approved the estimate and he installed the fence as and when promised a few days later.

They were very fast. He was professional, reliable and courteous.

It went very well. The work was done efficiently and the fence looks good. I don't see how the dog will be able to dig under the chain link skirt, but we'll see... The welding job was also nicely done. I highly recommend

This company is excellent. They came out to perform the estimate the day after I called. They performed the work a week later and I am very happy with the final product. Prompt, professional and courteous. What more can you ask for?

Extremely well. Carl is highly professional and so are all the Foothill Fence workers. They were efficient, hard-working and unobtrusive. Good on communication and follow-through. Would definitely hire them again, the fence turned out great, very attractive and well-constructed. And all workers had great, upbeat attitudes.

Excellent - extremely satisfied with the end result.

They arrived on time on a very hot day. I thought they would work early morning to early afternoon as it was a record breaking day. However, they worked well into evening. They were hard workers who did not take any shortcuts. I felt confident that they knew what they were doing and not just a few day-workers tossed on the job to save money. They got the job done in a few days and did a wonderful job-it was just what we wanted.

The project proceeded fairly smoothly though it took a bit longer than I anticipated. The finished product is quite nice a great improvement over what existed previously. Carl was helpful throughout the process and available.

Carl returned phone calls punctually, and his workers showed up on time. They did a beautiful job. The gates are much sturdier and work better than the ones they replaced. The handles are also sturdier, and it is much easier to open the gates now. They did an excellent job of cleanup. There were no scraps of wood or nails anywhere.

The estimator came on time. All workers from the demolition crew to the fence installers were professional and courteous. Work was completed on time and very neat.
