+ -1 moreWe were initially rescheduled because of the heat wave and other clients with broken A/Cs that needed more urgent service then our general maintenance appointment. For our troubles, they discounted the service fee for us. This was much appreciated. He was very professional and thorough. I appreciate the time he took and especially, helping me change the filters, which can be a pain to do. The advice on how to direct more air to certain rooms he gave me was very helpful. I strongly agree with the previous Angie's List reviews for Bell Brothers Heating and Air and have signed up for their regular maintenance program because of their excellent service.
Description of Work: We had a problem with a musty smell coming out of our A/C vents. He crawled up to our attic several times to locate a hard to find switch in our vents and helped me change out all of my filters, when he saw how dirty one of them was. He also did a general maintenance check on our A/C units.

+ -1 moreWe hired Bell Brothers to repair an aging HVAC system on a house built in the early 1990s. They strongly recommended that we replace the entire system instead of spending any money "fixing" it, and cited some serious safety concerns about the existing system. Because we had worked with Bell Brothers on prior occasions, we opted to take their recommendation. They installed a new, much more energy efficient system, and have since come over twice (at no extra cost) to further optimize the system. Bell Brothers was punctual, professional, and easy to work with. We continue to be impressed by their work.

+ -1 moreIt turns out that I called them to fix my air conditioner and it turns out that my breaker switch was not on. So I had to cancel them fixing it but they were very professional but did not come out in the emergency situation and had to play for the next week.

+ 0 moreEverything was done in a very professional manner. Calls made to resolve minor questions were answered promptly. We are very pleased and would recommend them anytime.
Description of Work: I accepted their offer to inspect and tune up of our furnace. The inspection revealed that there was a fine crack in the heat exchanger. Upon further inspection and testing we were able to verify that the crack was indeed there. We decided to replace the furnace and air conditioner. Price negotiations and equipment required were acceptable and agreement was reached to begin work. Removal of the old furnace and air conditioner and installation of the new units was accomplished in one day. The installers were great. They worked well and were very accommodating. They inspected the ducts and made some minor repairs including some realignment which would provide better air flow to two of the rooms. They cleaned up and hauled the trash away. This was done at no additional cost.

+ -1 moreAfter an initial visit by a repair person, who basically told me that my 22 year old heat pump/ac system could be repaired, but it would not be the best use of the money, I opted for a visit from a sales rep who explained what a new system would cost, and the benefits that it would entail. The installers arrived on time, worked through the day with only a short lunch break, and finished around sunset. I was very happy with the result.
Description of Work: Bell Brothers did an assessment of my old (dead) system, followed that up with a thorough explanation of what would be required to replace it, found financing through SMUD, and installed the new heat pump and a/c compressor system, and took away the old, dead system. They were very helpful and quite responsive to all my questions, explained everything completely, and did the install in one day.

+ -1 moreI was very happy with the all out job that they did. They were very knowledgeable about their trade and the only reason I won't be using them in the future is because they do not have a partnership with the manufacturer of my new unit.
Description of Work: Bell Brothers replaced a faulty relay and compressor in our air conditioner unit. Our house is 1500 square feet and the job took about 1.5 hours to complete.

+ -1 moreWhen I set my appointment for them to be here, they were able to come out in a hurry. The only complaint I had about them was I think they are a little pricey. I don t feel like they did much of anything for the price that I paid. It was not cheap at all. I have no complaints with the service that they provided me and I have had no problems with either units.
Description of Work: I had them install a heating and air conditioning unit within my home. They also removed the units for me.

+ -1 moreScott came out, did the measurements and gave me an estimate. He did not follow through with giving me the specific information regarding how much I was being charged for the unit. He gave me some lame excuse that he didn't have that information. I got pretty gouged in terms of how much I paid for the unit. Always get 3 estimates. Scott said he would be overseeing the job and checking in on how it was going, he didn't. Luckily, the guys installing the unit were extremely thorough and professional. I was really pleased with their workmanship. Even though I paid too much I was satisfied with the work they did. I haven't had any trouble with the unit yet. I am curious to see if they contact me regarding the seasonal check ups they are suppose to perform.
Description of Work: They installed a new heating and A/C system to replace my 30 year old system.

+ -1 moreWe called Bell Bros to come out for spring maintenance on our A/C system. The technician arrived on time (at the front of a 4-hour window), and discovered the capacitors were "low on mfd's". He suggested replacing the capacitors, and we agreed to the work. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant. Our A/C system is underrated for the size of our home, and it's 16 years old, so he did a very thorough inspection. He had the capacitors with him and was able to complete the work quickly.

+ -1 moreThe quality of service was good. The serviceman was careful to cover his shoes with booties every time he walked through my house, which was a nice touch. He was very friendly and helpful, answering my questions. He inspected the heating unit and cleaned it out. He tried to sell me an annual maintenance contract, but it wasn't an obnoxious hard sell. I declined, but would use this company again.

Description of Work: I signed up with their yearly maintenance program. Paul worked on the heating system and without extra charge was able to fix my induction fan without having to replace it, which would be about $600. I'm very grateful. I just wish this company did everything! They are one of the best I've ever encountered. If the ratings could be A+, I'd check them all. They are a superior company in every way.

I elected to obtain a quote for a new system since the repair costs were going to be very expensive. Then, I was visited by a sales associate who was very prompt, thorough and truthful. Finally, I scheduled the appointment for the system installation and they were on-time, courteous and were finished in less time than initially thought to be required. I highly recommend Bell Brothers heating and air conditioning.

Description of Work: Unfortunately I can't be detailed since the work was completed on the townhouse I own; however, my son and nephews live there while attending Sac State...basically the fan outside was not spinning when the motor could be heard running and getting hot.
