Description of Work: I first found Joe in 1997. I had 2 bids done at the time. Joe's estimate was ridiculously fair. He did an excellent job. Fast, professional and courteous. I have since referred him to probably 20 people. No one has been less than 100% happy. I have personally used his business twice more through all of these years and his service and quality of workmanship is consistent. I couldn't recommend him enough.

Description of Work: No work was done. A rep from Joe's Hardwood Floors came to our house to look at the potential work and measured the space. I have asked him to provide three quotes and he said he will get something to me on the following week. Three weeks went by and I didn't hear a peep. I called the company and it went to voicemail. He returned my call and said he will get something to me the following week. It's been 6 weeks since the initial meeting and I have not heard back from him. How can I give business to a company that is not responsive to potential customers?

Description of Work: We needed a bid for refinishing or buffing floors - Joe's Hardwood arrived punctually and professionally and provided a bid. Unfortunately my owner chose not to have the work done (I'm a property manager and I was hoping they would see the benefit). But Joe's Hardwood did their part!

Description of Work: These guys were great! Recently moved into a home with hardwood floors. The previous owners had used a cleaner that left it with a glossy finish - making it kind of yellow-ish. Joe's Hardwood came in and did their magic bringing back the true beauty of these floors. There price was fair and competitive. Dustin went above and beyond. Description of Work: Joe's Hardwood Floors installed LVP flooring throughout our 1980's condo. They were professional from start to finish. Their work is guaranteed and they did a great job on the installing and cleaning up. His team was always on time and great to work with. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I am a real estate agent in the Kensington area and Joe's Hardwood Floors was recommended to me by a contractor we trust - Bob Jaynes. They refinished some solid wood cherry floors for clients of mine that bought a Mid Century home in Mt. Helix and did a fantastic job. They used a matte finish that worked perfectly with the Mid Century feel of the house and they turned out absolutely beautiful! I called them today and Sean returned my call. I talked with him about Lauzon maple engineered floors that had been installed on another Mid Century home that my clients are buying in the Loma Portal area and how they had darkened everywhere but where the area rugs were located. He said that is the characteristic of maple flooring that it darkens over time. He said however that Lauzon is one of the best quality engineered floors made and the polymerized titanium finish is one of the hardest finishes made. He said they're good for 2 to 3 sand jobs but he said if the current finish is in good shape that it will actually reduce the life span of the flooring if they take the factory finish off now by sanding it. He said if they leave the original, lighter colored areas uncovered that over time they will darken and catch up to the surrounding areas.

Description of Work: When a 30 year old company with an excellent reputation went out of business just before they were to start installing new flooring, we joined Angies List and then called two businesses. Joe's Hardwood Flooring responded and gave a quote thousands lower than our previous ones. Joe was very informative and knowledgable. We took a week to empty four bedrooms, except for heavy furniture. Joe arrived and introduced Dustin, Joe and Jason who did the installation. They removed all remaining furniture except for a bulky heavy folding bed/table, and a large office desk, they laid heavy paper on walkways and hung a plastic drape across the hallway to seal off dust and smell. They were friendly, polite, orderly neat and fast workers. They rremoved the carpeting and ground the concrete smooth, applied a water seal, and removed part of the recently laid hardwood flooring in the hall between two bedrooms so that the new flooring ran from one room across the hall into the second room so as to eliminate junctions between old and new. For the heavy folding bed/table, they used an air sled to"float' it into position over the new floor. We painted the new and old baseboard moldings before they were reinstalled. They ensured that the junction between old hardwood flooring and the new flooring was perfectly smooth. No Tee molding was used anywher, not even between new floor and existing tile. Furniture was reinstalled and work finished within a week. There was no added cost for additional hardwood, the new molding or use of the air sled. We had chosen Lauzon maple flooring, the same as we installed several years ago in other rooms. It has a square edge so that the surface is a glass smooth lustre finish where any faults can be readily seen.

Description of Work: We had quotes then selected a company with a good reputation and 30 year history to replace carpeting with wood in four bedrooms. However, it went out of business, so we joined Angies List and chose two places. Joe submitted an estimate much lower than our previous quotes. Joe knew exactly how many fractions of an inch the flooring might expand, and he agreed to lay the flooring flush with existing tile and hardwood without the use of Tee moldings at the junctions. He introduced his installers. Dustin, Joe and Jason who were well organized, tidy, cheerful and polite and they worked fast. They sealed off the hallway with plastic sheeting to lessen dust and smell for the rest of the house. The existing hallway flooring between doors of two bedrooms was removed so that the new boards could be run from one room, across the hall into the second room. This eliminated two junctions between the old and the new, and they brought in a special air sled to float a heavy bulky combination folding bed/table across the new floor. The Lauzon square edge maple floor has a luster finish with a glass smooth surface without grooves, so any installation imperfections can be easily seen. We were not charged for use of air sled, additional boxes of flooring or for new baseboard molding. The floor looks very good and we were very pleased with the quality of their work, their pricing, the installers and with the overall process. It was a pleasure and a money saver to work with Joe and his installers

Description of Work: Joe's Hardwood installed approximately 800 sq. ft. of Lauzon hardwood flooring in 3 rooms and connecting hallways. Prior to installation they removed the existing carpet and leveled the concrete slab.

Description of Work: Joe is the MOST professional floor installer we have ever encountered! He did over 1,000 sq. feet of Amaretto Maple Lauzon flooring in our new addition and our kitchen. The flooring is absolutely beautiful and we are quite happy that we went with Joe. We are pleased with this product and the outcome. Joe will give you an "honest" opinion and tells it like it is. Description of Work: Removed carpet, leveled concrete and installed new engineered hardwood floors in our condo.

Description of Work: We had just purchased a 50+ year old house and part of our restoration plans included refinishing the hardwood floors before we started additional painting and ceramic tile work. The hardwood floors had been covered with carpeting for many years. They looked good when we lifted the carpet in the corners, but we really didn t know what condition they would be in once the carpet was removed since we didn t know the history of the house. We also had stained wood based moldings that needed to be removed and lowered since they were previously installed above the carpet. Since we are out of town owner/investors, we needed someone who we could trust to do the work without us being there.

Description of Work: Removed existing carpet, repaired and refinished underlying fifty year old oak strip flooring in two bedrooms. Job included installing new strips in areas in which room remodeling had left gaps in the original flooring. The new strips were to match the existing flooring. The (new and existing) refinished flooring in both rooms had to "tie into" previously-refinished flooring in adjoining hallways and other rooms.

Description of Work: Joe came out to my house and gave me a bid to put hardwood flooring in my dining room and my master bedroom closet (it's big). Because I already have hardwood floors he made many trips to locate a color and style that would work with the previously installed floors. Previously I put red oak flooring in several rooms and the company had to sand and refinish. I did not want to go through this process again. Joe was very patient with me while I was choosing the appropriate flooring and brought several samples at different times to my house. With Joe's help we a brand and color was chosen.
