First off, the communication with James at was perfect. He was perfect. He is very professional and personable. He asked a lot of questions to make sure he understood our needs. I was actually impressed that he was not available for another week! That told me he is good and popular! Other carpet cleaners I have used about been available the next day. (They've also been about half the cost!) James called me the day before to reconfirm the appointment and the day of the appointment to let me know when he would be arriving. His arrival time was very close to the time he promised. Once again, upon arrival he was very professional and personable. He explained my options, especially in regards to the dog stains. I took the option that was a bit more expensive but was more promising. James is certified and well trained in how to handle pet stains. This is one of the reasons I hired him. He got right to work. He took longer than any other carpet cleaner that I have used but once again that proved to me that he was good. The finishing work on the carpet cleaning was great. He "raked" the carpets and made them looked beautiful. The house smells better. Before James came I had even given some thought to getting new carpet. I now know that I can get my carpet cleaned every six months and live with this carpet another few years. This makes me very happy. James also gave me some tips on how to handle occasional pet accidents that happen when my "granddog" visits. So here's what I've learned: * It's okay to wait for an appointment if you want a good carpet cleaner. "The Specialists" is the best! * I'm happy paying more for folks who have taken the time to learn how to handle special stains and problems. The folks at "The Specialists" have done this and were well worth it. Thanks Angie's List. You've saved me again.

Overall, it worked out great. I am please with the way the area rug looks. It looks like a new rug. This furniture looks and smells so much better. It will keep me from having to replace my furniture for awhile.

I have recently joined Angie's list and chose The Specialists from that list. I called and talked to James, the owner, about my six year old carpet which has never been cleaned. He happened to have a cancellation so I made an appointment with him to come and see the job. He measured the carpet and gave me an estimate of the work to be done as well as a detailed explanation of what would be done. I told him to go ahead with the work. I did not request that he move heavy furniture to clean under it. The carpet was thoroughly vacuumed and then steam cleaned with special emphasis on a few very dirty spots. James did a very professional and excellent job and even got the worst spots clean in spite of the fact that the carpet was very worn in front of the couch. When he was finished he gave me a pair of booties and had me walk through the house. The carpet looked practically brand new and the house smelled fresh and clean. I was very impressed with James who was very professional throughout the whole process. He takes the time to ask about your concerns and then proceeds to do an excellent job. I happened to get lucky and obviously picked the right company. I will definitely recommend The Specialists to all of my friends and neighbors and James will be back next year to clean my carpet again.

We highly recommend this company. On February 8, 2013 James came and cleaned our carpet in 5 rooms. All done with excellence. On February 15, James and his wife came to clean the tile and seal our grout in several rooms. The service was again performed with excellent results. Our tile and our carpet look brand new!!

I had found this firm on Angie's list, and James came and gave me a price, and agreed to come on the day I requested. He did so, and did a superb job.

They do a great job. I am very happy with them.

We have used them before and we are so happy to see them on Angie's List now. They are a 1000% or 2000% better than another company we have used. The other company was the most expensive work we had done as far as the carpeting and we had to call them twice. We were not satisfied with their service. We didn't have them work on our tile. The specialist after finishing the carpeting work today, we would have them come back to do the tile. We like everything about them. It's cleanest the carpet had ever been. It is the less intrusive any carpet company has ever been here as far as working with us. They are husband and wife team. Their work is excellent. Through the years, we have used many different carpet cleaning companies that we would never have back in our home again. We have referred them to our neighbors and they have used them.

I called for an estimate and later scheduled the cleaning. It was a very good experience.

The first of September, 2012, I found The Specialists on Angie's List and decided to call them, not only because of the good reviews, but I liked the idea of an all natural approach and they said they are experts in pet urine removal. James made arrangements to meet our representative in a few days and gave us an estimate offering us a discount on the deoderizer and sanitizer in addition to the $50 Angie's List discount. His price seemed reasonable and James seemed pleasant and professional so we hired him. After the initial cleaning the carpets looked beautiful, but there were several areas we could still smell urine after the carpets dried. We called James and he arrranged to come out and re-do those areas when he had the time. Again, the carpets looked beautiful, but there was still urine oder in a couple of areas. After several more tries, we were down to one area and finally the mid October treatment took care of it. James was frustrated, of course, but always pleasant and professional. None of us realized in the beginning how extensive the pet urine problem was nor how difficult it would be to remove it. To be fair, I ended up not taking either of the discounts. I know James ended up spending extra time and resources but honored his original quote and did not charge me any extra for it: the MARK OF A TRUE PROFESSIONAL!

James and Joy have been cleaning our carpets and upholstery for years. We have 2 dogs that live indoors and shed constantly. Our carpets still look great because of the thorough job that James does. There are no stains or odors in our carpets. James has and will come on short notice to treat even small accidents on the carpets. We have been planning to replace the carpet with hardwood flooring for 2 years, but as long as our carpets look as good as they do, who knows when that will be! James and Joy are honest, hardworking people who really value their work and their customers. I recommend them to everyone I know if they need carpets or upholstery cleaned.

I called and needed someone right away and he came. His work was very througo. He took care of the oders and stains I could not believe he could get out! I will be calling him next time I need my carpets cleaned for sure!

I called and spoke to James and asked if I could schedule an appt. for him to meet me to give me an estimate for carpet cleaning at the home I have recently purchased. I have not yet moved into the home which is a 45 min. drive for me from where I currently live. We scheduled a tentative time dependent on when he finished a job he would be doing and he agreed to call me about an hour before he finished that job to accommodate me being able to make the drive of 45 min. to meet him on time. On the agreed day he did call to give me notice that so I would be able to meet him. I discovered later that it is not a short drive for him to my new home but there was no hesitancy in him coming to give me an estimate. I had already gotten an estimate from another contractor who was closer in proximity but I wanted to get a comparison estimate. James & Joy were thorough in the walk-through measuring room sizes and noting the badly stained areas. The carpet is all a light beige, kind of oatmeal color, and the family room and stairs leading to the room were blackened from foot traffic of walking from an asphalt driveway onto the stairs and in the room. Additionally there were urine stains from cats and a dog. The carpets in the house appeared never to have been cleaned and stains were never tended to. James cautioned me that he would clean those stairs and family room the best that he could, taking extra care in pre-treating and spending added time in cleaning, but that the carpets probably would still not be completely clean. He and Joy explained the process that they would be using and that they would be using natural products for the cleaning. James' estimate for the work was a little higher than the other estimate I received but I decided that they were the professionals I would choose for the job. They were just more thorough in explaining what they would be doing and asking me if I have had questions. I felt very comfortable with both of them from the git-go. The day of the cleaning appointment, they called to let me know they were on the way. When they arrived they didn't waste any time getting to work. They did an excellent job of prepping for the job, and cleaning carpets and the big sectional sofa. The sofa is in the family room so they had to move it to completely clean the carpet and they set the sofa on styrofoam blocks to lift it up off the carpet. I was so amazed at how clean the carpets came out and I think even James was a little amazed himself. This young couple is very professional and polite and work the entire time they're on the job. I also liked that there was no chemical odor when the job was done. I would highly recommend The Specialists for your carpet cleaning needs. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

My carpets are like new! I was seriously doubting whether they could be salvaged at all. I have one large dog that had begun marking the rugs after we got a new puppy. Can you imagine the volume from a Great Dane? The smell was disgusting! I was ready to put in wood floors. I spoke to Joy on the phone and she gave me a date about a week and half later. Naturally I would have preferred if they could have come out sooner, but I had read the other reviews on Angie's List and it seemed that they would be the best ones to try to fix that mess. I was not disappointed. James arrived on time and worked diligently to clean those carpets. There was one room that had been heavily soiled, and he needed to add extra cleaning fluid and spend extra time on that room. The carpet in that room remained wet for 3 days, and when it dried there were some dark areas left, staining. The other rooms were pristine. I called back and mentioned the problem and they came out the next day! The room was cleaned again and some other cleaning chemicals were applied and by the next day it was perfect!!. I still can't believe it. They also clean grout/tile and so I will be calling them out do that next. They are an absolute pleasure to work with.

I highly recommend this company. James and Joy were punctual, polite and very knowledgeable about carpets and removing stains. I had received an estimate from another company that was only $14.50 less than James' estimate. The other company estimator showed up on time, but he was in and out in 10 minutes with little discussion and, I discovered the next day, that the first appointment available was 10 days' away. James and Joy arrived on time for the estimate and then performed the cleaning right then. They also spent considerably more time looking at the carpeting and stains and educating me on proper stain removal. There were a number of bad stains, including a large one from blueberry juice. The first estimator was not very confident that it would come out. James assured me it would and IT DID! While they were cleaning the carpets, they explained why it was not a good idea to be using the hand-held stain remover I have used for years--it leaves suds in the carpeting and presses the stain down further--and recommended a better product. I also appreciate the fact that they use natural and anti-allergen products. There was no chemical smell at all after the cleaning. They provided me with several booties to wear while the carpeting dried. They were professional, friendly, and work great as a team.

A big part of my problem revolved aroung pet urine stains in one isolated area of a room. James treated that area, extracted and cleaned the entire room. In addition, he cleaned a large family room, bonus room, stairs and lengthy upstairs hallway. I was truly amazed at the final results! 15 year old carpeting now looks beautiful, smells beautiful and certainly makes me feel better about the overal cleanliness of my home. I'll have James back in six months or less, whether it's truly neede or not...... A new part of my "preventive" maintenance program!

Everything was going well but he was very weary about cleaning the new buck’s leather. He was hesitant to use what he had on the new buck. I had a hard time finding somebody to clean the new buck leather. I decided to call the people from who I bought it and find out what needs to be used to clean it and he said that he would come after that to clean it. He wants to make sure he is using the right thing. The new buck leather is a little tricky and so he didn’t want to use what he uses on leather on it. He was reasonable and he quoted $75 for the love seat and $100 for the couch and that would include the cushions in the back and side which are all leather. He tested a spot and he was not sure of the product to use. He was very professional and very nice. He had very good personality and he was very competent. Everything was great right down to the point it is only that we need to find the right cleaning solution to clean it. I was very impressed with him. The price he quoted was quite fair. I would have him come back if not for the upholstery it would be at least for the carpets.

James did a wonderful job. Very profesional and very nice. Estimate was a little less than Coit's, we had used them last year and weren't pleased. Carpet looks great! Better than it did after last year's cleaning and is already drying faster. James took the time to pull more of the liquid back out which means we'll be able to put things back about 2 days sooner. And the natural solution he used didn't leave an odor like the other chemicals. I would highly recommend this company for your carpet cleaning.

The urine stains were treated with special sprays and a stain on the family room rug was treated and cleaned. All of the carpets looked beautiful and the odor was gone. We were assured that if we had any problems that he would come back and clean anything again, until we were satisfied. I gave him a "C" on punctuality because he did not arrive on time. When I called him he said he had accidently scheduled me for the following Friday. He got himself together and arrived at my home half an hour later and proceeded to do a thorough job.

I called them to get and estimate and James returned my call promptly. He gave me a rough estimate of $275 (before an Angie's List Coupon/Discount). He was able to schedule an appointment right away. He told me he would arrive between 2:30 and 3:30 on the day of my appointment and explained that he would call when he was on his way.The day of the apppointment--just as promised he called at 3:00 to let me know he was on his way. He was here by 3:30. James was very friendly and quickly measured my rooms and got to work. He was also very understanding and patient with my kids as they kept asking him questions as he worked. (Note: They were supposed to be at a playdate that fell through). The carpets look amazing--he got out almost every spot--wine, kool aid, etc!! He took his time and tried for a long time on one spot--that I believe was marker--that he couldn't get out--but I was impressed with his effort. He was here for at least 2 hours from start to finish. It has almost been a week and the carpets still look great! Thank You James!

I joined Angie's List just this month because the jobs that I used to be able to do around the house are things that I can no longer do easily or comfortably. One of the things that I can't do anymore is to use the Rug Doctor that I have owned for the last ten years. I have several dogs indoors and 2 that are outside dogs who still traipse in dirt and dust when coming in to kennel up. I ended up calling 4 of the top rated Carpet Cleaning Companies. Two never returned my calls at all. One called me back and made an appointment for a estimate a week later but arrived 20 minutes late and was very negative from the start. When I called The Specialists, Joy answered the phone on the second ring. She scheduled a time for the estimate and told me that if I chose them they would be able to do the work right then and there. She was very pleasant to talk to and totally non-judgmental about the length of time it's been since the carpets were last cleaned. She explained about the products they use and the effort they make to do the job right. Also the appointment was for just a few day away. (There was a weekend in between.) When James came to my house, on time and with a pleasant attitude, I thought that this might just be the right company. He came in and measured the space, saw the condition and was not pessimistic about the results. He was realistic however and told me that all he could do was his very best and that he thought we might end up saving the carpet. Even though his estimate was a little bit higher than the other company's he included a pre-treatment that he thought would help a lot and included taking as much time going over and over certain areas as they might need. This, of course, extended the amount of time he would need to do a good job. James moved some of the larger pices of furniture that I wasn't able to and when he was done he put everything back. He wore booties so as not to track in any more dirt on the carpets that were clean in the other parts of the house, and he was courteous and pleasant the whole time. The other company told me they really didn't have any hope for the carpets and if I wanted to waste my money they would try but they would only spend a certain amount of time trying. They didn't offer any pre-treatment or any extended time to try to get them clean. What a difference. I still may replace the carpets with a tile or laminate floor but at least now I have a choice and time to decide what I want to do. I am VERY pleased by the whole process with The Specialists.
