I was happy with them. I got a coupon for them. The coupon was great and they did everything they said they would do in the estimate.

I should also note that I am recovering after a surgery, and he was so pateint and understanding the entire time! The system looks and works great, and I will definitely work with this company again in the future. A+ for extraordinary customer service!

The guy I spoke with on the phone was super nice. The earliest he could schedule me was for July, which just didn't work for me. He was very apologetic and professional. He was straightforward and honest and understood why I couldn't use him. He asked what problem I was having and gave me excellent advice over the phone. If I need someone for this in the future, he's the first person I'll call.

It was excellent. They had the knowledge and ability to enhance the systems.

Steve and his crew arrived on time, did a walk and talk around, agreed on the work to be done. Steve and his crew are very experienced and really know about plants and landscaping. Steve made several recommendations along the way, all of which improved the end result! We are delighted with the outcome!!!

Steve is very easy to work with. We initially hired him to help us with an uneven watering pattern in our lawn that was causing problems when we had to follow San Diego City Watering restrictions over the summer. He recommended moving some of our sprinkler heads and installing a few additional heads. We had him do this work and it seemed to help get rid of brown areas in the lawn. We needed to replace the fence on one side of our yard. I asked Steve if he knew of a good fence person and he said he could do the work for us. His quote was very reasonable and I felt he'd do a good job so we hired him for that job. We're very happy with how the fence turned out. It's very solid and was installed the way we expected. Our neighbors had a few small issues in their yard after the install, and Steve was more than happy to come back and take care of the issues. A few months later we had him come back to do some heavy pruning on several plants I hadn't done a very good job of staying up with, prune a yellow bells tree, remove some plants that had become somewhat invasive, and remove some excess dirt that a squirrel created after digging a tunnel under our patio. The plants and tree he pruned look great. Overall I've been very happy with Steve's work. He has employees that do a lot of the work. For the smaller jobs he was on site working with them the whole time. For the fence, which took multiple days, he was here every day for at least part of the day. They also worked through a few of the lighter rainy days we had in the fall. On cost, the fence cost was quite reasonable. The cost on the other jobs seemed like it might have been a bit high to me, but I chose to not get other quotes. I felt comfortable with Steve and felt it was worth paying him what he was asking. The only small negative comment I might have is that I sometimes had to stay on top of things to make sure things were cleaned up to my satisfaction. After the fence was installed I had to ask to have some of the excess dirt from where they had made the post holes deeper than they had been before removed from our yard. We have a small yard and there really wasn't anywhere to put it where it didn't pile up and look bad. After the plant work was done, we discovered a day or two later than we'd been left with some very noticeable leaks in our drip system where plants had been removed. I notified Steve and he came out the next day and took care of it. He did address all of my concerns in this area. I have Steve coming back again next week to help me with a little more pruning I'm struggling with and will definitely use him again whenever we need help with our yard.

Steve and his group arrived early the first day, and removed the existing grass and plantings. They worked on the irrigation for the next couple days, replacing all the old sprinkler heads with a water conserving drip system, and laid out the plan for a walk path and plantings. On the third day I accompanied Steve to a plant nursery to discuss the type and size of plants to be installed. He purchased and delivered the plants to our house and the group installed the first set of plants on the third and forth days. Over the weekend the group left the premises tidy with their equipment gathered nicely to one side. On Monday they arrived early and continued to install plants, including 3 lovely fruit trees that Steve had personally picked out. On the following two days they finished planting, laid a weed prevention blanket and brought in several truck loads of mulch. The final day of work they laid one more layer of mulch and brought in DG for a nice packed down walk way. They completed the work in one week and one day. We are very pleased with everything that went on. Steve and the group were extremely professional and concerned about our satisfaction. They worked steadily and took time to clean the work area before leaving at the end of the day. Their ability to complete the job in so short a time was impressive. We would most definitely hire Steve Dame and his group again. They were a pleasure to work with.

Steve was prompt for an appointment to provide an estimate. After I scheduled a day for the work, he and two co-workers came on time and accomplished the work in a timely manner. The work was done well and the final bill was consistent with the initial estimate.

The work went very well and we will very likely hire Dame Landscaping again. Steve Dame (the proprietor) worked with two men to do the job, which took about 2.5 days. Steve was very involved in the work and on site much of the time, and one of the men that he was working with was clearly very knowledgable too, so I felt that the work was well-managed and that they were doing a good and thorough job. Some of the highlights of the work that was done: Steve repositioned our old retractable lawn sprinklers up so that the sprinkler heads, which were about level with the top of the grass, now stand about three inches above the top of the lawn while they are working. When they turn off, they are completely level with the soil. This is a HUGE improvement on what we had before! Also, the sprinkler heads he installed appear to be of much higher quality than the ones he removed; we look forward to fewer blowouts than we had last year! An extra and unexpected bonus was that Steve suggested and replaced the back sprinklers in the flowerbeds with little drip fountains. These are 1" above the level of the flowerbed (so we can see that they are working) but they use drip technology to reduce evaporation during watering. This was completely Steve's idea; I had no idea those drip fountains even existed until he suggested them! Finally, Steve freely gave advice about how we could better care for our existing plants Overall, we are extremely happy with the work that was done, and fully expect to use Dame Landscape for future projects.

I must say that I not only got great response from Dame Landscaping the work was way above standard. He tied the wires nicely where-as before they were a Hodge poge mess. Now they are all tied nicely to the valve system and less likely to be chewed by rabbits or cut by the weed wacker. They replaced the lawn that they had to dig up and you can not tell where they dug holes in the lawn. My lawn now is in the best shape it hase been since my problems started around 6 months ago. Mr Dame takes a high level of pride in his work. He stands by his estimate and I couldn't ask for a more reliable company to work with. As a matter of fact, we are planning on some additional landscape work and have talked with Steve Dame who will provide an estimate. I have NO DOUBT that he will provide excellent service for the additional work we are planning. He is fair, reasonably priced and a top level performer. Called Monday and made appointment for Tues. He was prompt and checked our sprinkler timer box in garage and also outside wiring. Found problem of loose wire and promptly fixed wires. This is the third time I have called Dame and they were always prompt. I even called one time when I was having a problem setting the timer box and he talked me through what I should do and I followed his directions and didn't need a service call. I would not hesitate to call again.

Steve Dame, the owner, and his crew were very professional. They did an excellent job. We chose Steve because he was a previous Angie's service award winner. He is extremely easy to work with. He was flexible and patient and helped us "weed" through the best options. We also appreciated Steve's recommendation of the concrete professional Andy, who worked on the rest of the yard. We're very happy with the professional results, the professional way it was completed and the price.

We phoned Mr. Dame and he was able to come out the same day. He quickly diagnosed the problem. After he completed the job, he had us turn on our sprinklers systems to check that everythng preformed correctly. We would recommend him to anyone.

They did exactly what I asked them to do. The mulch they laid down ended up being much, much darker than I wanted, but after a few weeks it lightened up considerably and now looks great. Almost all of the plants they planted are thriving, save for a few that didn't quite make it. The owner gave a fair price for the work that they did and was easy to contact throughout the project.

They diagnosed the problem, checked all the system (which they had not installed, was there when we got the house) and fixed the problem. Very nice and professional. Will use again

Fabulous. Steve and his workers were meticulous in their work. They made sure they understood exactly what I wanted and recommended sprinkler locations to cover the new landscaping I plan to put in. On the last day, they cleaned EVERYTHING: swept my patio and driveway, pulled out misc. weeds that remained, cut back some ivy, took away the last pieces of old landscaping. The yard looked like a clean slate, brand-new! No surprises, the work was accomplished according to the estimate and on time (in spite of rain showers that week).

Steve was very responsive. On time for all appointments. Offered great advice to help me meet my needs within my budget and presented a few different options in his proposal. He also gave me some things to consider if/when I re-landscape my yard. Steve is very knowledgeable and willing to educate. Steve replaced a home-built duct tape thing with a professional system. I would refer Dame landscape to anyone looking for a quality, professional job.

They did about $800 worth of work a little over a year ago. I would rate them highly. I will be using them again tomorrow for some more work.

Using Angie's List, I located Dame Landscaping when I determined that two of my seven irrigation valves needed replacement. I contact Steve Dame by e-mail and he responded same day. He provided a quote ($175) and we set up an appointment for 11-17-2009 at 1 PM. He and a worker arrived on time, assessed the situation, and replaced the valves within an hour. Steve insisted that they modify some existing pipe to make sure that the valves fit perfectly, which I appreciated. They were courteous, interested, and professional, and honored the $175 estimate.

Ever since my husband put in our lawn and irrigation system in 2006, he had to adjust and change various sprinkler heads to try to adequately cover 2,000 square feet of grass. During the warm months (which is most of the year) and especially throughout the summer I had to spot water several large areas on a fairly regular basis which would take up about an hour of my time. As we didn't know of anyone who could recommend someome to take care of this problem and the recent mandatory water restrictions, I decided to join Angie's List (which has been extremely helpful to me) and find someone reputable. Steve was very accommodating as I had to cancel and reschedule with him a couple of times. He was also professional and personable.

He was very responsive, did the work very promptly, and we were happy with him.

All went well, Steve arrived when he said he would, went right to work, Done quicly and neatly.

I called this morning because one of my neighbors reported to me that our sprinkler head was broken. I was very concerned because of the waste of water during the water shortage. I called and they said they could come over in about 45 minutes. They promptly came over, fixed the sprinkler head and all is well.

I hired this company to do landscaping around one of my homes. Dame Landscaping was able to take some of the excess rocks off of a hill and made a Chinese like pathway or garden. It was very creative and great way to use those rocks. He also worked the extra time doing that aside from the other landscaping he was to do for no charge. I can’t thank him enough and I would use him again in the future.

We had lots of water pooling around the irrigation system manifolds and gushing water in the area of one drip hose. After first calling a plumber -- who wasn't able to diagnose the problem in 2 hrs of working on it -- I found Dame Landscape on Angie's List. Steve Dame (owner) came right out, diagnosed the urgent problems and, at my request, reviewed the whole system. His workers arrived promptly on the scheduled date, worked very efficiently, and were very neat. However, I wasn't home when they finished and when I observed the repaired system on the next watering cycle, I felt that some areas were being overwatered and some were being underwatered. I called Steve, who came out promptly and together we walked the property and observed all aspects of its operation. Steve then fine-tuned the various drip hoses (adding some cute little "sprinkler" type outlets to the drip hose where additional flow was needed in some places) and, on other parts of the property, the sprinkler heads. He also reset the varous timer settings to deliver the correct amount of water to each zone, given the changes in flow related to the various repairs. His final charge was at the low end of the range he had estimated.
