All he did was reposition some drip lines. Did not check water pressure or readjust them. A little disappointed. He seemed to be a hurry to complete job and move on to the next

It went OK. He made a good recommendation - replace the pressure regulator - which I did later on with another company.

Dame Landscaping is a busy company but I recommend it is worth the wait. They arrive with full plans to work to and stay within their quote. The two men were courteous, solicitous, and always working. A good crew. I have since hired Dame to replace a failed timer (on August 27, 2012) and their usual thoroughness made certain it worked, explained how to use its controls, etc. In other words, Dame's good work continues. Great company. Great employees.

I purchased a coupon from Angie's List for one hour of landscape lighting repair. I left a message when I called to make an appointment. My call was returned promptly and the appointment was scheduled. The two man crew was prompt, courteous and got right to work. They checked the connections on all of the inoperative lights and located the problem. They fixed it and buried the wiring. We had one light that need replacement so they connected the wires so that we could order and install the replacement ourselves. The whole process took the two men about half an hour and was covered by my coupon. I couldn't be happier with the service and I'd use them again.

We are not finished yet. He will return later this month (August) to perform the suggested work.

I bought an Angies List deal of the day for a sprinkler tune up and forgot to do it within the time frame. I called anyway when one of our big sprinklers stopped working to see if I could at least use face value toward the repair. Mr. Dame honored the deal I bought even though it had expired and tuned up all of our sprinklers and fixed the problem sprinkler (wire was damaged and disconnected from the timer system). He also informed me about 3 small problem areas and gave me very reasonable quote to fix them. I do plan to have him back. He was on-time, professional, thorough in his inspection and informative.

We needed a quote to have our sprinkler system tuned up and a few spots repaired. Dame came to our house the day after calling him and met with my father-in-law. Nearly a week later, we still hadn't received a quote from Dame, so my wife called to inquire. The following day, we received a fairly non-descript email with a very reasonably priced quote, but with what seemed to be a few details missing. Being a small business owner, I absolutely understand how busy you can get, but a week with no contact is pretty extreme for a service business. The biggest issue (that the whole system in the front yard would not run on our timer) was not addressed. I replied to the email from Dame asking for more details on the quote and if the whole system would work after their service. A day or two later I received a brief response from Steve saying "sorry, I'll add a new controller to your quote". We don't need a new controller...we just need the front yard watered...it works perfectly fine for the backyard. The next day, I received an updated quote which simply added a line item "Install Irritrol Rd-900 EXT to replace existing worn out controller" and another $250 to the quote. I felt this was a haphazard way to get the system fixed, and a way to pad the bottom line for the company. Overall, I was quite surprised with the poor communication and seeming lack of personal care we received from Dame, as their other reviews on AL are stellar! ***UPDATE*** After going with another sprinkler repair company, I found that they refused to NOT fix the controller as well despite my hesitance to do so. With that, I have to give Dame credit for probably being right here, though he presented the repair as an afterthought and gave me no indication that he had even checked the controller. I'm sure Dame does great work, but I still have to mark them down for the responsiveness to emails and the quality of information provided.

Steve traveled from Escondido to La Mesa for a minor job, but was efficient, professional and friendly. I would recommend him and will use his services as needed in the future.

They were on time to the minute, and spent much more than two hours on the work they did - I had to ask for a bill for the difference, otherwise I don't think he would have billed me for it. Dame's work was outstanding, chasing down faults in a many-years old landscape lighting system and making it look easy, which it could not have been. A great company to do business with - do not hesitate to line up Dame's services.

My tenant called re coverage of sprinkler on front and back yard. Reported some heads were either broken or worn out and needed replacing. Have using Steve before at my residence, I called and asked him to repair the system at the rental. He coordinated his visit with my tenant, arrived on time, made the necessary repairs and emailed his invoice.

I never compare the prices but they are reasonable. But if they do a small thing they charge a lot more.

This is not the first time we have used this company. I found Dame Landscape on Angies list and have been completely satisfied with their service. I would recommend them because I feel they are very competent and their charge for service is fair.

Personnel came as scheduled and checked and adjusted sprinklers.

He did a great job. He was on time. I was very pleased. He asked if there was any other work to be done.

Our sprinkler valve had a leak which was seaping through 4 of our sprinkler heads. The problem had started on a saturday. We didn't want to call into a 24/7 emergency type company in order to save some money. It wasn't leaking too bad on Satuday. It started leaking a little more on Sunday. So we left a message for Steve on Sunday to call me on Monday. On Monday, I noticed it was leaking even more through the sprinkler heads so I called Steve when he opens at 8am. He had received my message from the previous day. He asked if he can look at it the following day (Tuesday) but I told him I needed to find someone to fix it that day. He made arrangements to come in the afternoon to give an estimate and to fix it. He arrived around 3pm and gave me a great price. He knew what the problem was immediately and fixed it in less than an hour. I always try to find a personal company rather than a big company. He fit that perfectly and was much more affordable. I would definitely use them again.

Our HOA complicated the estimating process by asking for both an overall estimate and that estimate split into two pieces, so we could better compare estimates from other solutions by other contractors. Steve readily accommodated this. His estimates are all-inclusive, no surprises, except one positive one I'll get to.The day of the work, his team was exactly on time. We had other construction activity going on at our building and Steve's team neither got in the way nor had problems working around the other activity. They worked steadily and quickly, finishing sooner than expected. Steve tested everything, programmed the timer, and left well ahead of schedule. He was wholly professional throughout.In response to our noting that the work had gone more quickly than estimated, we got our "surprise" - Steve invoiced us for less than the estimate, because the labor was less than forecast.We've had the lighting in place for a month now and are completely happy with the results - they are all we had hoped for. P.S. I saw another review complaining about Steve's failing to reply to an email. We did all our discussion and negotiating by email and I found Steve to be quite responsive - far better than most other contractors in dealing with email (not perfect, but among the best I've dealt with).

The overall experience was totally satisfying. No "do's and don'ts". Just call him.

Steve came out and thoroughly inspected system, then gave written estimate for repairs... Steve and his crew did an awesome job on the work.. would highly recommend them! We moved here from area where irrigation wasn't needed, so I appreciated Steve's expertise and recommendations on watering frequency for all the zones.

They were very good, on time, and rite on schedule. They listened to us and did everything just the way we wanted it. No complaints about them.

As previously stated, a pleasure to deal with this professional company.

We contacted Dame Landscaping because we just bought a house and wanted to remove all xeroscaping and lay down sod. On Angie's List, the company advertises 1000 sq/ft of demo and new sod for $1299. We have approximately 2000 sqft of yard, so essentially two coupons worth, equaling $2300 total. The owner arrived on time for the estimate and was very friendly and knowledgeable. A few days later, my husband received the quote for the front and back yards via email and the estimate was five times the two coupon amount! My husband replied to his email asking about the Angie's list coupon and why that price does not apply. The owner never answered my husbands email and we have not received any further communication from him.

From my conclusion, he is knowledge and honest! Now I know who to hire when I need repairs!
