This was my first time with this outfit and so I went with some trepidation and curiosity. I gotta say, though, this turned out to be a pleasure from end to end. I never thought I would say something like that about an auto shop. These guys were great. I also realized that these folks were actively working to try and make the experience better. The pricing was fair, the work was as expected, the sense of trust in the process grew on me, and the attitude was great.

Excellent. They identified many issues(serious to minor), made reasonable recommendations and I now have a plan to address them in priority. I sourced parts on line and their pricing was great. Hourly rates and time estimates for the work were good as well.

I have been looking for a place I can bring my car where I don't feel like I'm getting swindled, or taken advantage of - and I finally found it at Los Gatos Auto Service. They were extremely professional and communicative about what was going on, and a real pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them!

I had just purchased a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado Z-71.  It needed an oil change, emissions certification, odometer fixed, air conditioning fixed, 4 wheel drive fixed, and complete inspection to see what other issues that it might have.  They were able to perform the emissions work, change the oil, and perform and tune-up in time for me to take the vehicle to the DMV to get it registered.  They discovered that the ball joints in the front and back suspension both needed to be replaced.  They replaced both for approximately $1100 (approximately $500 for one and approximately $700 for the other) with high quality parts.  They initially attempted to add Freon to the A/C.  However, time showed that the unit needed a compressor, which they installed for approximately $900.  They replaced the switch for the 4 wheel drive, which corrected that issue.  They resolved the odometer problem as well.  When it was all said and done, the total cost for all repairs was approximately $3,000.  After driving the vehicle for a week or two after the repairs, they appear to have done very good work at a very reasonable price.  My only complaint was that it took just over 3 weeks for the entire project.  However, I told them up front that this was a weekend vehicle and, as such, there was no rush on my part.  It appears that Los Gatos Auto Service is a victim of their own success.  I contacted them initially because of the good reviews on Angie's List.  It looks like many others have done the same, since they are extremely busy.  However, besides that one issue, I couldn't be happier with the results.  They were very professional, responsive, and courteous.  They returned my phone calls in a prompt manner and answered all my questions.  If you can handle having your vehicle gone a bit longer than another shop, it would be worth it, since they do great work at a very reasonable price.  Kudos!

It went well and i would definitely use them again.  I felt that they provided me with good information on other things that could be done to get the car in prime shape but did not feel any pressure to do so.

They are professional and back up their work.  Chrysler dealer would have cost over $1500 more.  They now maintain both my cars.

I have used Los Gatos Auto for 15 years and have always been pleased with their work. They are very fair and honest.  Their price is fair and their knowledge about cars is the best I have seen.

I have been using their services for about ten years. They are very awesome in working with the customers. They are a small company and you have to be patient because sometimes they can get busy and it can take longer. I think that is a good thing for the company. Also, because they can get busy, they are not great at following up and I have to call to check on the progress of the car. I do think they are trustworthy and I will continue to use their services going forward.

I have been using their services for a few years now. They have done work on multiple vehicles for me as well as for my family and friends. The service is good. Sometimes when I am in a real jam, they can help me out quickly. They tend to try to turn the job around quickly so that the vehicle is not sitting there waiting on work to be done. Their price is very good compared to other repair shops. They are very friendly in the shop as well as over the phone when you call them. You feel very at ease going into their shop which is very helpful. Their location is great! They are located right off the highway and they are very easy to get into. My experience with them has been good.

We had used their services before. We like their quality and their friendliness. The work was fine and that the price was good.

They have serviced our cars for about 15 years or so.  Their cost is reasonable. They are very honest and upfront about everything. There are no hidden charges and they call you and tell you how much any work or part will cost before doing any work. They are great and professional.

I had wiring harness damage on my Corvette due to rodents.   The local Chevrolet dealer diagnosed this  damage as a computer problem without ever looking under the hood to see the wiring damage. Because the dealer wanted to replace the computer at a cost to me of $800.00 I wanted a second opinion. I brought the car to  Los Gatos auto since I had good work done by them in the past.  Dave, the owner, listened to my concerns.   He first checked the computer diagnostics to verify that the computer was not the problem.  He then checked under the hood where I had seen the frayed wiring.  My Insurance adjuster concurred with Los Gatos Auto. I have used Los Gatos Auto in the past on other vehicles and have found their work to be of sustained high quality.  They are especially good at diagnosing elusive electrical problems.

They are honest. They called us up on the phone. We were on vacation leave and they told us that the brakes were good and we don't need to put new shoes or disc on our brakes. That's rear especially with mechanics. Everything is expensive here so their price is okay. Their responsiveness is very good. They are very punctual. The timing was good because it was done by the time we got back in the town. They are very professional. We would use them again in the future.

They were excellent with analyzing the problem. They gave me a fare price and were very honest. They made the experience very pleasurable.
