Smart Yards - Artificial Turf & Putting Greens

I contacted Paul last year about replacing my small front yard lawn with artificial turf. He came out, showed me several samples and sent me an estimate within a couple of days. However, due to complications on my part, it was almost a year before I could proceed with the project. In the meantime, I learned about a new grade of artificial turf that was even more appealing than what I'd chosen earlier. Because Paul deals with several different artificial turf suppliers, he was able to easily make the change in my estimate. When I was finally able to go forward with the installation, I contacted him and he scheduled the project for the following Saturday. Removal of my existing lawn, capping the sprinklers, preparing the ground and installing the artificial turf took only about 5 hours. His crew worked quickly and efficiently and left the property in pristine condition.

I called Paul on a Tuesday requesting a quote. We told him we were pressed for time because we were getting a redwood play structure delivered on Sunday. Paul came out first thing the next day, Wednesday. Quoted the job and emailed us by noon. We asked him if he could install by the weekend, as we had a deadline... and he did. Paul and his team of workers were fast and courteous and did a great job. I would definitely recommend Smart Yards Inc. and look forward working with them in the future.

I sought a bid from Paul at Smart Yards based on his solid Angie's List reviews. Paul, the owner of the company, responded quickly and came out for a bid. I was impressed with Paul's professionalism, his buttoned-down approach and his decades-long experience as a contractor. Paul was very responsive; I mainly communicated with him by email. Smart Yards' price per square foot was above what a neighbor paid another contractor a few months ago, but I went with Paul based on his professionalism and Angie's List reputation. I was more concerned about getting the installation done correctly than about getting the lowest price. I also had a specific brand of artificial turf in mind before I met Paul; I told Paul the brand I wanted, and he was able to find it and supply it. Paul delivered the grass on day 1 of what turned out to be a two-day job, but he delegated the installation to a supervisor and a very capable crew. I was really impressed by Smart Yards' crew: They worked hard as a team, were friendly and polite, kept the job site clean and had a great work ethic. It was a pleasure to have Smart Yards' crew in my yard. Paul came back several times during/after the job to make sure I was happy (which I was!). The artificial turf looks great. I would recommend Smart Yards to anyone who wants artificial turf installed professionally and correctly. If you are looking for artificial grass, by all means give Smart Yards a chance to bid the job.

Paul is very professional, no hassle. They finished the job quickly and professionally. On the first day they came with 6 people and on the next day they came with 8 people. The job was finished in two days. My lawn looks beautiful. They do excellent work. Everybody commented that I have the best front yard in my area. Thanks to Smart Yards and Paul.

We have a winner! I chose to hire Smartgrass to do my backyard. They had the best quality synthetic grass and the best prices. I will update once the project is complete.

Paul was very good at explaining options and prices. He was very detailed about the process. The workers were vert professional and cleaned up very well. I am very pleased with the results.

We called Paul looking to get turf installed quickly but were unsure if that was possible. He came over the next day and gave us an estimate within 24 hours that offered multiple pricing options. He walked me through our options and explained the differences in materials, turf grades etc. He was able to install the grass in less than a week. On the day of install, Paul and his team showed up promptly and worked hard to get the job done. It looks great and we are super happy.

My Back yard went great but we had some issues with the front.

Paul called me after I contacted him via email through his website about my interest in having artificial turf for my front lawn. I was tried of watering the front lawn and with California's current drought situation, going with artificial turf seemed like a good idea. Plus I got approved for $2 per sq ft to change out my front lawn to an artificial one. We met on a Sat morning at my house to go over the type of artificial grass Paul could provide. Paul took measurements of my front lawn and told me he would have a quote to me within a couple of days. After receiving the quote and comparing it to another company, I decided to go with Paul. We arranged to have it installed on 9/2 and Paul arrived as promised. His crew did an exception job removing my old yellow/brown lawn. My new artificial lawn looks fantastic and people driving my my house during the installation process stopped by to check it out. After they were done, the crew did a great job of cleaning up the mess. I am a very happy customer and I am glad to come home each day from work to a nice green looking front lawn. I would recommend Paul to my family and friends in a heart beat. Paul was punctual and answer my emails and phone calls in a timely manner. Thanks Paul!

Paul and his crew are the best. His crew were like mini ninjas. Everyone knew what to do and did it well. Have gotten at least 20 raves about how it looks from friends and neighbors and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs artificial turf. Paul gave me an estimate a little over a year ago and was not pushy for my response. He also helped me with my rebate application from the DWP. He and his crew truly know the meaning of customer service.

We can't recommend this guy enough. He was prompt, meticulous and his crew was great. Probably one of the better contractor experiences we have ever had. Definitely an A+ experience.

It's taken me about a year to write a review - I wasn't sure how I felt about the lawn when it was first installed. It was so "perfect" it just looked so fake. It also made a weird "swooshing" noise when I walked on it (think parachute pants). Fast forward a year, and I consider this one of the best decisions I've ever made. Our lawn looks beautiful year round, and no water necessary. We can play in the grass without having to worry about grass stains or allergies. We can rake the leaves without any problem. I LOVE our turf. Paul and his team were quick, efficient, and they really did a beautiful job. Paul brought over a ton of samples in a variety of colors, fills and textures. He also told me about an increase in the city rebate program that gave us $3 / sq ft.

After several bids I am so glad that I found Paul on Angie's List. He came out gave me a bid that I felt was competitive with other companies and the next day had an opening to get the job done. And what a amazing job his crew did! I couldn't be happier with the finished project and the crew who came out cleaned up and got the job done right.

The explanation of the different grass choices and installation options from Paul was very clear and helpful. The installers were very detailed and did a great job of working with us to figure out the best solutions for the layout of the installation. They completed the work (which was about 320 sq ft) in one day. They were very professional and cleaned everything up when they were done. We are very happy with the look of the artificial grass and the quality of the installation.

This job was not easy, but done very well, quickly and at a reasonable price. We were particularly impressed by Paul's hands on approach....how closely he supervised the project. He was very knowledgeable and accessible. In addition, he (and his workers) showed up exactly when he said they would. We strongly recommend Paul Easley of Smart Yards.

He played me around for 2 months. He kept saying we were going to meet up so he could show me the product but he never showed. He sounded like a nice guy but I don't how people can stay in business like that.

Paul from Smart Yards was extremely helpful and professional. He was easy to get in touch with, brought out samples and was quick to get us a quote. The job was fast and only took about 6 hours start to finish. His employees were great and they cleaned up everything. Everything was done in an extremely professional manner. From the punctuality of Paul in our initial meeting to the cleanliness of the jobsite (not an easy task), We couldnt have asked for a better experience.

The installation process from start to finish was a great experience. Even during the project, Paul wanted me to inspect the work in progress to see if there was anything that I saw needed adjusting prior to finishing the project. Paul came out a couple of times prior to the installation date to make sure all measurements were accurate and all questions and details of the project were addressed. Paul took the time to go over the different types of turf, and gave his opinion of which turf would work best in my yard--never felt any pressure to choose one vs another. My main concern in our backyard was the drainage. The backyard usually looks like a swamp when it rains, so I was concerned how the drainage would work with artificial turf. Paul and his team came out and measured the slope prior to starting the project to see how much to grade the land for proper drainage. The final result was beyond my expectation. I called Smart Yards to make an appointment for the installation of synthetic grass. Paul came out the next day and inspected the yard. He appeared very knowledgeable and explained the various options and grades of synthetic grass. He left samples so I could examine them with my husband. He proceeded to measure out the areas where we would do the installation of the synthetic grass. The next day was the start of the Labor Day weekend so he explained he would have the estimate for me no later than Tuesday. On Wednesday Paul called to say he would have the estimate ready later that day, or no later than Thursday. No esimate was delivered. I called him to ask for the estimate and he never returned the call nor did he ever send the estimate. I was very disappointed that he would be so flaky and unprofessional. It was a complete waste of time.

Paul was a wonderful vendor to work with. He was responsive, punctual, reasonable and fair. His crew was also very professional and worked very hard for two long days to get our job done. Everything went according to plan and the job looks great. I would recommend Paul and will work with him again.
