Amazing service! Last minute, I got a deal to have my central air and heating system serviced. GC Heating and Cooling confirmed the day before they would be out the following day. The technician called earlier in the day letting me know they could be there earlier than promised, if I was available. Unfortunately, I had a prior commitment and couldn't be there earlier than planned. Usually you get a 4-5 hour window of when the technician will arrive at your home. Not with these guys. They gave me a 2 hour window and a promise to call before they arrived to let me know when they would be there. Juan, the technician was amazing. He was there waiting for me when I got home- He was EARLY! Yes, Early! He was very professional and answered all of my questions. It has been more than 7 years since the central air system was serviced. I was sure they were going to find something costly that needed repair. He gave me a few suggestions on keeping the system working in top shape. I'll definitely be using GC Heating and Cooling in the future for all my heating and cooling needs.

They did an awesome job, finished everything in one day. They gave me not only the best price, but they did so much extra for me. Included new registers, a new thermostat, tore out old framing, and fixed improper short cuts from a previous owner. Had other contractors give me estimates that were more in price but would have have provided much less. Could not recommend GC Heating and Cooling enough, they are the best!

Gustavo and his team were prompt and easy to work with. Gustavo provided us with an estimate on the spot and delivered the project for that cost, despite additional costs that were encountered during the process (custom vents). We were very happy that we went with GC. We received two other quotes that were comparable to this quote, however we believe GC offered the superior product and great service.

My AC broke down on Friday evening. I called GC HEATING & COOLING & left a message. Gustavo returned my call about half an hour later and said that he would send his nephew Jose the next day, on Saturday at 11 am. Jose called me around noon to reschedule for 2 pm; he was still working on another job. It took Jose & his assistant about an hour to repair. My AC is now working great! I was very pleased with the quality of work and professionalism. Jose explained everything to me in detail before proceeding. I really appreciated the fact that they were able to fit me in on Saturday. I highly recommend GC HEATING & COOLING.

We will never know...mom and pop shop that has not learned basic customer service. I recommend that you do not use this company. Their reviews vary but what is consistent is their failure to follow up and promises. You might get lucky and receive great service...pure hit and miss according to their reviews.

Gustavo, the owner of the business came to my house and explained all options to me. He was very kind and informative...no pressure. I made my decision and we determined the date of installation. He initially said it would take 2 days but he called and said he did not want me to be inconvenienced so he would send a bigger crew and it would be completed in one day! Awesome! He did many extras @ no additional cost...upgraded my thermostat, put the condenser on a platform and replaced the flue pipe. His crew were polite and respectful. When the job was completed he came to do the final inspection. We noticed some of the dry wall had been chipped when the old furnace was removed....this was unavoidable...no big deal. Gustavo immediatedly called "Rudy" and within 2days he was out to do the repair. He even offered to paint the area as well! What woderful experience to have people who respect and care about the job they do! I would highly recommend them!

Technician never showed up for scheduled apointment. I was told I would get a phone call 30 mins prior. I had a missed call from a number I did not recognized but no message what so ever. Hours later I saw the same phone number on their website. I guess business is really good to not even bother to get in touch with potential clients

Well, I love the quick "punctuational and reliable" review (sounds like a family member through that in). Like the previous real review on 7/28, this family owned business over commits and doesn't deliver. I had an appt. to get my AC checked on 8/3/14 (not working, kinda hot lately) between the hours of 12 and 2. I spoke to some male who said that would be a "perfect perfect perfect" time. After 2 on Saturday, no show, I call, I get what sounded like an older gentleman who had no idea I had an appt. from 12 to 2. He (like the other guy, and Jose later) over commits. He said, "I'll have Jose call you right now." I never get a call, 45 minutes later I call back. He says, "he never called you? I'll have him call you." A couple of hours later, Jose calls, stuck in Fontana, can't do job today, but can do tomorrow. This is where I do give them credit. Jose did show up Sunday in a.m., quoted a price. He told my husband he would call back in a couple of hours to provide a more detailed outline what the price cost (nearly a thousand.) He never called back. My husband called, Jose noted he would email me the quote, no email. The next day (other staff over committing again) a female says Jose will email me. She or Jose never called back, never got the email. The older gentleman the day before noted they are so busy, but that's not the customer's fault. No customer should be calling this much to get their business. Plus, don't they have a general schedule to know when/where their staff are? Poor communication. F guys, get it together.

He was nice, punctual and reliable.

The service went fine. They did a nice job with the inspection. We eventually had to call them back to repair the furnace. It took a couple of visits before they could resolve the issue. The thermostat needed replaced, and once they installed a new thermostat the issue was resolved. This is the only company who would come out for the service. They were very responsive and came out within a few days of calling. The technicians did a good job, were polite and efficient. They were able to temporarily fix the AC while we were in the middle a hot spell.

Solicited about 5-6 on-line or phone estimates, and 3 actual estimates where the company representative came to our home. I also did thorough research on my own about brands and services. Gustavo, owner of GC Heating & Cooling, came to our home to provide a detailed estimate. I can not say enough positive things. Gustavo was very friendly and knowledgeable. We went over every aspect of the AC and Heating system, as well as vents, ducting, brands, models, costs, time table, city permits, warranties, etc. Though Gustavo could have installed other brands at my request, he recommended (and I wanted this based on my own research) American Standard for superior performance and reliability. His price quote was much lower (over $2000) than other quotes I received for inferior brands. I have a hectic schedule, and Gustavo scheduled the work to be done at my convenience. Other contractors said the work would take 2 days, Gustavo's crew, led by Jose, completed everything in one day, starting about 8am and finishing about 4pm. The old system was removed and the new one installed, everything was done very professionally and the crew was very friendly and informative. Gustavo also personally took care of everything with the city in regards to permits and city inspector scheduling. He was there in the beginning, followed up on everything, and made sure we were completely satisfied at the end. GC Heating and Cooling is not some giant corporation who's only interest is getting as much money out of the consumer as possible. There is no slick sales pitch. What I experienced with GC Heating and Cooling, and working with Gustavo, was a family run business, that prides itself on working hard and doing the job right, with the best equipment (brand), and giving the customer a very good value, and personal service. From start to finish, my experience with GC Heating and Cooling was absolutely first rate. My family and I could not be more satisfied and I would recommend this company to anyone.

GC Heating & Cooling was amazing! The owner, Gustavo, came out at 8:00am on a Tuesday morning to give me an estimate, I decided that day to hire him for my project, and he came back at 8:00pm that same night with the contract for me to sign? he and his team then started the project at 8:00am THE NEXT DAY. They installed a brand new AC unit and replaced all of the existing ductwork and vents in just three days (they would have finished in two, but the asbestos abatement company that had to come out to remove the old ductwork required that GC wait 24 hours before coming back out with the new ductwork). Gustavo was amazing at communicating, calling every day to check in and even coming out on Saturday to double-check all of the work and make sure everything was perfect. Gustavo is friendly, his prices are more competitive than any of the other estimates I received, and the work was perfect. it is a family owned and operated business, his team was punctual and thorough, and everything was spotless and working perfectly when they were finished. I would absolutely use Gustavo and GC Heating & Cooling again, and I would recommend them to anyone!

I have a split HVAC system with the heat and fan in the house and the condenser on the roof. In the last heat wave, while the air was still coming out, it was not cool. I called and scheduled a service appointment on the day I requested and was given a 2 hour window, which was very nice. Juan, the service guy, called in advance to confirm he was on the way and arrived during the first hour of the window as promised. I did not realize the compressor could trip the switch at the electrical panel and the fan would still be able to run. So, that was the embarrassing part of the visit because all I had to do was flip the breaker back on. Wow! In addition, because my compressor is on my first floor roof, Juan used a ladder to go up and check it out. When I had it moved to the roof previously, I put a trellis around it to make it less unattractive. Part of that covered one of the service panels, so Juan was nice enough to remove that portion and put it back together when finished. The Freon levels were a little low and Juan added 1.5 lbs of Freon to the system. It did improve lower the temperature of the air coming in through the vents. The $39.00 Angie's list service fee went toward that cost, so I did not pay extra. I was very impressed with Juan and his professional way of handling this. As a homeowner, it is nice to find people are honest and don't tell you need more than you do when coming out for a service call. However, next time I will check the breaker. :)

Called to get a quote for a very aged central air unit. Gustavo (the owner) responded and was able to come the same day. After inspecting the system he also came up with a way to increase the coolness of the upstairs which was always much hotter.His price seemed good and after seeing all the positive reviews we decided to use his team. His team was there the next morning to complete the job. They were efficient, clean, and professional. The upstairs was cool for the first time in years.Gustavo came back later in the day to inspect the work. He was a pleasure to deal with and it was easy to contact him. Even though he was very busy he gave us the time we needed. I would highly recommend Gustavo's work.

100% HONEST - The motor of my AC unit was frozen. I was pretty sure we needed a new motor (costly). I called GC Heating and Cooling on Monday, July 7. Their technician, Juan, was out to our house on Tuesday, July 8. I told Juan I thought the AC motor was frozen. He checked it out and let me know it was a part that needed to be replaced, not the motor. Juan replaced the part and added some coolant. My AC now works just fine. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GC Heating and Cooling. Juan was very knowledgeable, professional and polite. I could have been easily ripped off but I wasn't. THANK YOU to Juan and GC Heating & Cooling. You guys will be my "go to" people for all heating and cooling needs in the future.

Our AC system died and we needed to replace it and we also wanted to take this opportunity to relocate the system to the attic for better air distribution in our 2 story 3,200 sqf home. Over a 3 week period, I received 9 bids from the top rated AC contractors here in Angie?s list and from other big AC companies. The bids were all over the place going up to $17k for roughly the same configuration. When I first met with Jeff (sales person for GC Heating & Cooling), I was impressed that he was able to quote me on the spot prices for any American Standard equipment or configuration I asked for: 2-stage cooling, 2-stage heating, air filter box, extra warranty, etc). Jeff made an interesting point that any good sales person should know prices (or approximate cost) of the top of their head if they been doing it long enough. What stood out with GC Heating & Cooling prices, is that their markup Is either minimal or at their cost. Let me give you 2 examples. One of the other bids I was considering said that the job would be done to city code but did not include a permit. When I asked how much it was to add the permit, I was quoted $800 dollars more. When I called the city of Orange asking how much the permit was since I was being charge $800, the clerk laughed saying it was $142 at most for such a permit. On another bid that I received, it included a 1-stage gas heating system. I asked how much it would be to upgrade to 2-stage heat, I was quoted $1,200 more. This is ridiculous because the actual difference is only $340 more when I checked on-line. I can purchase the same identical 2-stage heater on-line for $1,780, so $1,200 extra for an upgrade is just a horrendous markup from the contractor. Unfortunately we the consumers get taken for a ride and this type of markup is common practice with many HVAC contractors, so it was refreshing to find GC Heating & Cooling that offered me upgrades at either cost or at a small markup. No games, no wait, straight forward pricing on the spot - I really liked that. I got top of the line American Standard system (same as TRANE) which is rated #1 in Consumer Reports with all matching American Standard components: ECM Air handle; A-Coil; Condenser & Air filter ( 2-stage cooling, 2 stage heating). The price included new line set, new electrical disconnect, condenser pad, 13 new registers, new intake & outtake plenums, isolation pads, city permit, HERS rating, and the re-location from the garage to the attic. Aside from the great price, they were super clean. We have white carpet throughout our house which includes the stairs. Everything was covered daily during the 3 day install which was major work relocating everything from the garage to the attic. As with all major construction, there was an issue that occurred a couple of days after the system was installed. Gustavo returned my call the following day and they were out promptly and corrected the issue. I have nothing but good things to say about GC Heating & Cooling and of Jose, Emilio and Tio who did all the work. I highly recommend them. They were able to start the job soon after I signed the contract which was great with the summer upon us. What I appreciated the most however was the honestly in not abusing me with super high markup prices which is prevalent and ridiculous here in Orange County. Some contractors will say that ?quality? costs. Well h*** yeah but not a freaking $6k more! The quality of GC Heating & Cooling was great and they did everything to code and even did extra things I asked for which was not part of the contract. Nobody else would have done that and everything was done with a positive attitude - really nice to see that today. For those who have a 2 story home in which the upstairs is always hot while the downstairs remains cold, I highly recommend relocating your unit to the attic if you are looking at replacing your HVAC system as this is the time to do it. For us, it made a HUGE difference in that now both the upstairs and downstairs temperatures are perfectly balanced and the same. The air intake now comes from the ceiling on the 2 nd floor which is ideal since that is where all the hot air resides. For AC efficiency, hot air intake is optimal. I also recommend supervising the work when doing any kind of major home project. With GC, the job was done right, city inspection passed with no issues, HERS rating passed and we now have a very comfortable house with near perfect air temperate distribution throughout the entire house. The ECM motor in the air handler is fantastic as it ramps up very slowly running on stage 1 most of the time (80%) and on stage 2 only when needed. The air handler is located in the attic on isolation pads above a bedroom and it is so quiet that it cannot be heard from any bedroom in the house. We are very happy with the outcome and the decision to move the system to the attic. In closing I got a great price, great fast service, highly rated American Standard HVAC system, super nice and respectful family installation crew with a yes attitude towards everything they do. Highly recommend GC Heating & Cooling and am happy to be used as a reference! Updated: 8/6/14. I am having problems getting this company to call me back ( weeks ). Hopefully this is an isolated case but I want to add this note on my review.

I contacted 5 different companies on Angie's List for quotes to install Central Air and Heat in my house. G&C not only had the best price but was the most open to all of my questions and flexible about what I wanted. The whole project was done in 2 days, with everyone arriving on time and all completed while I was at work. No real mess was left behind. I had one small cosmetic issue after it was all completed and it was fixed with no hassle whatsoever. There were no additional charges added after the initial quote, which I have had experience with on other home projects, so that was a big relief. It's been a couple of months and my ac and heat both work flawlessly!

I was contacted right away, after making the purchase. I called for the big deal, 3 ton a/c, but knew that my entire old ac/heating system would probably need replacing. What I didn't expect was the price. Very reasonable. The work was done the following week. The crew arrived on time, and was friendly, polite, and stayed on task. I mainly spoke with Gustavo. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Even when there was a payment issue (my fault) he was polite and upbeat. Working with GC Heating and Cooling was a great experience for me, and made up for the negative experiences I had previously with a couple Angie's List providers.

Gustavo was prompt and professional. He came the next day to provide a quote and recommendation on the unit. The crew removed the old AC and heater and installed the new units. The removal and installation was quick, very neat and professional. His crew protected the floor for easy cleanup. I would recommend him to anyone.
