Description of Work: Had replacement water heater as well as recirculation pump installed as primary scope. Also replaced an external bust valve from a freeze as well as some original water piping into the house that was worn out.

+ 0 moreOur shower drain was plugged. We tried clearing it ourselves a number of times with draino. We couldn't use a snake through the shower because the grate appeared to be grouted in. My husband tried the stubout on the outside of the house. Nothing worked. When I called Day & Night, the receptionist suggested the technician, Jason, call us first because of the drain access problem (if he was to come out, the cost would be $49). When he called, Jason asked my husband questions about the situation and what we'd tried ourselves. When we told him about the grouted-in grate, he suggested we purchase a BrassCraft Zip-it tool ($2.50). We used the tool and our drain is now unplugged. Jason's free advice saved us at least $45!
Description of Work: Jason, the plumbing technician, never actually came out to unplug our shower. He called, found out what problems we'd been having and gave us free advice so we could unplug our drain ourselves. Jason's integrity and professionalism saved us approximately $45! In the future when we DO need a plumber, we'll definitely call Day & Night and ask for Jason!

I appreciated the serviceman's honesty. The inside unit is about 25 years old and the outside unit is about 11 years old. When it's time to replace them Day & Night will be at the top of my list.

My experience with them was great so I decided to use them for the duct testing that srp is currently giving rebates on. Day and Night charges $99 and SRP pays $75 in a rebate so it's only $24 for them to run the test. (per unit) CJ was very professional, knowledgeable, helped me change my filters, and gave a complete report on the test. I have recommended to my friends to get his duct test done before the rebate runs out AND to use Day and Night to do the work. All tests need to be complete by Apr 29, 2013 to qualify for the rebate.

I told him I was an Angie's List Customer and he told me instead of the $30 off coupon, he would reduce our bill by $100. Jeff was on time. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was also very personable and courteous. He removed the water heater and replaced valves and flex tubes and installed the new water heater, all within a reasonable time. I would definitely use the service of this company again and I would recommend the company to others, as well. Excellent job!!

After the Plumber, Jeff, looked over the areas where he was going to work, he called me out and showed me the issues where the previous plumbers had errored in his installation of my hot water heater two months ago. -The cold water handle was blocked by hose and not on all the way. -Hot water hose going out was "kinked" and damaged going out of the tank. -Hot water setting was not set appropriately -Bathroom connector under the sink showed water leakage around the exterior fitting. I knew these cost was going to above the original quote of the original price, however I felt his price was extremely reasonable and fair. I felt there was no Upselling and the repairs were needed to prevent future problems. We no longer waste water in the Master Bathroom (or for that matter anywhere else in the house) for the shower/bath/sink to heat up, the water pressure is where it should be. The temperature of the hot water throughout the entire house is were we like to use and adjust. Jeff was thorough, educational, and fair. I will have him back for future projects.
Description of Work: Added a re-circulation pump on hot water heater. Added necessary fittings in the farthest bathroom and replace hoses and connectors where previous plumbers caused potential problems and issues with past replacement and remodel.

Description of Work: I called about the coupon on Angies list for a new toilet and installation. They were very helpful, I asked about different style toilets that were higher and easier for a disabled person to use, and they provided excellent information. They offered the same deal on the installation of the more expensive toilet, the only increase in price was the price difference in the toilet. We scheduled a time, they called an hour before to let me know they were on their way. They were punctual, polite, and professional. I would use them again for any plumbing need.

+ -1 moreIt went Great! Jeff Oehm, the service tech, was excellent! He explained how the recirculation system worked and what he would be doing. He tested the water before and after to make sure it was heating up faster than before. We are very pleased with the installation and the shower gets hot instantly vs. us having to wait 3 or 5 minutes for it to warm up! All of the faucets in the house get the hot water much faster than before the installation. Jeff also showed me that there was a leak on the top of the water heater and I could see the rusty stains that had dripped to the drip pan under the water heater. I had him replace the hose that was leaking and he discovered that the O-Ring was missing from the hose that was on there. For an additional $30 we got that taken care of as well. And the water heater is less than a year old so whoever installed it made a mistake. Grateful to Jeff for pointing this out! Overall-very pleased with the company, the service, the tech and instant HOT WATER!

+ 0 moreSalesperson showed up on time. Did thorough inspection of existing system, measured perimeter of house and examined venting system to determine needs. Didn't try to up-sell us, explained everything in full detail. Very professional and low pressure. After we agreed to go forward, a technician came out and verified all the information. Installation day was scheduled, everyone showed up on time, crane arrived and all went perfectly. All the people on installation team were professional, courteous and very hard workers. The whole installation took the entire day, but it went exactly as I would told it would and didn't run over time-wise. I received exactly what I wanted, ordered and expected. I would highly recommend this company to anyone - particularly when they are making such an expensive and important purpose such as I did.
Description of Work: Had to replace two roof mounted heat pumps due to old age and inefficiency. One was a 3-ton unit, the other a 5-ton unit.

+ 0 moreBoth bathroom sinks and toilets were clogged and unusable. Within 35 minutes time, all systems were flowing properly. We were happy with the work and the worker cleaned up as if nothing had ever happened. This was the second time we have used this company. The first time he plumbed supply and drain to a wet bar in the living room, which required opening a cement wall to install drain and supply line. The work was done very professionally. Both times both gentlemen were very courteous and listened well to the problems and executed proper solutions to both problems. We were told also up front what the cost would be before they started. We have designated this company as our permanent plumber.

Description of Work: Reworked a lot of the existing ductwork in the house, but put in all new registers/diffusers. We also added on to the house so added a new 3 Ton split system which they installed also with all the new ductwork and controller... They then balanced the whole system at the end so there was good airflow throughout the house.

+ 0 moreJason had been out to my duplex unit to work on unrelated problems twice last year. This time my tenant, in the other side of my duplex, was having persistent problems with slow drains. Because we had to coordinate three people's schedules, I emailed Jason directly. He replied the next day, and we were able to schedule an appointment on the first day we were all available. I was afraid that the problem was something major, because the main drain in my own unit had backed up recently, but it turned out that my tenant's drains weren't getting sufficient air to allow water to drain out. Jason removed the mechanical stopper in the tub drain and reattached the sink stopper. Presto--empty tub and sink! How often does a plumber tell you the bill is less than you thought it would be? Thanks, Jason!
Description of Work: Both sink and tub were draining slowly, and I was unable to fix them with either a short snake or chemicals. Jason identified the problems and fixed them. He removed the mechanical stopper in the tub drain and reattached the sink stopper. Both were restricting air required to properly drain water.

When the technician, Erick, came out to inspect it, he looked things over and then asked if I had ever been up on the roof to actually look at my furnace. When I said no, he asked me to come up so that he could show me the parts he was talking about that needed repair or attention. I've never had any technician in any field do that. He was knowledgeable and courteous and did not try to sell me on expensive repairs or equipment. Because of this, I've purchased an annual maintenance contract (which I also felt was reasonably priced) for my house and for my rental property. The furnace repairs and maintenance were scheduled and performed timely. I'm glad to have found this company.

Description of Work: I had spoken to them over the phone describing to them what work was needed. I needed to have the flexible duct work in the attic replaced. He made a quote over the phone which was quite a bit cheaper than the other estimates. The service person showed up early on the date scheduled. He went about doing the repair and completed the work all within the quoted amount. He would have been done in a couple of hours but had to wait for a while for another person to come out with the needed material and to help with the repair. I was drawn to this contractor because they price their work by the job and not by the hour. I think that is a great way to bid out work. I was very pleased with the work they did and that they stuck to the quoted amount. I would recommend highly them. The only thing I didn't like was that the guy said he "might" need a little more material than I had told them they would need which would have raised the price by a couple of hundred dollars. I suggested that if they run short, they should re-use some of the existing duct work that was still good to finish the job. But he was able to complete the work without having to do that and, therefore, at the quoted price.

He explained where he would put the hot water recirculator mechanism and that he would place another piece of equipment under the sink at the furthest point from the hot water tank. Because the pipes coming from the wall to the hot water tank were old and inflexible, Jeff replaced the pipes with flexible ones (at additional cost as agreed) so that the recirculating pump would fit properly on top of the tank. We had an old recirculator under the bathroom sink which Day and Night had agreed to remove in lieu of flushing the hot water tank as we had just had that done. Jeff worked quickly and professionally. He explained how to set the timer,on the main pump,to save electricity when hot water was not needed quickly at various points in the house. The only complaint is the pump is positioned at such an odd angle that it is somewhat awkward to reach to set the pins on the timer. Once set, we should not have to get to the timer very often, but it is awkward. Jeff indicated he had placed it properly.
Description of Work: Jeff installed the hot water recirculator on our existing hot water tank and the companion piece under the bathroom sink furthest from the hot water tank. He checked that the process was working properly.

+ 1 moreThis was a buy it now deal on Angies list and the best $$$ I ever invested on a moments notice. I was very pleased from start to finish with this very professional and prompt company. The office staff was courteous and most helpful. My situation was dire as none of my toilets worked. I was worried my sewer line was going to need to be torn out because this has occurred before. Jason arrived early and promptly began to clean out the backed up sewer line while we chatted about our favorite football teams ( it's playoff time). Then he ran the video line; as we watched it snake through the sewer line it turned out only to be roots interrupting the flow: a great relief. Day & Night does it right, I highly recommend this company, you won't regret it. I will definitely use Day & Night again.
