I called Day and Night after waiting all day for the plumber. (Maybe "Day and Night" is when they expect me to wait around.) The receptionist told me that the plumber arrived at my house a little early. She claims that the plumber called and left a message. I checked my phone and told her that I did not have any missed messages and asked her when the plumber arrived. She said that she did not have any information on that. I told her that I was home from 10:30am so if he arrived any time after that I would have heard if he rang the doorbell. If he came before 10:30, then what's the point of scheduling for 12-3pm? What's the point of having a schedule at all? I'll be asking Angie's List for a refund because this provider obviously doesn't care about their customers. They don't bother to keep their schedule and don't bother to contact them. Thanks for wasting my time.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for a water heater flush. I scheduled the service for 12-3pm today. I waited for the plumber. Waited more. No one showed up and no one called to tell me that they wouldn't be coming. Needless to say I am pretty p***** that I took the day off work to wait for the plumber and none arrived.

Excellent customer service!! Maria was very professional and helpful in assisting me with my questions and scheduling my appointment. Michael P. was the plumber who came out to our home, he was punctual, professional, and very conscientious about the quality of his work and our satisfaction when his work was completed. After moving into our new home, I have encountered many individuals from many different trades, including plumbers. Michael has the work ethic that we appreciate very much, and we know who we will be calling in the future for all of our plumbing needs. Thank you Michael !

This review is way past due, the work was done in 2012/2013. They came out and performed a camera inspection of our main drain which was backing up into our downstairs bathroom. They found evidence of roots growing in the line, but were able to clear it and gave us advice on keeping it clear. They also noticed that our water heater looked like it was original to the house (built in 1997) and gave us an estimate on replacing the water heater. (We didn't have that done and 3 years late and the water heater is still working great). In 2013, a year later, we called them back because of the same issue (backing up into the downstairs bathroom), this time they found that there was a crack in the sewer line and it would need to be replaced. We trusted them from their first visit, they gave us what we thought was a fair estimate and we had them replace the sewer line. They had to dig up the front yard, remove part of our front sidewalk, and dig through 7 feet of ROCK and BOULDERS to get to the line, which they hadn't anticipated when giving us the estimate. Never the less, they hauled away the sidewalk, and completed the work in just a few days, and when they were done you couldn't even tell they'd been there, except for the missing sidewalk . . Its been a few years now and we have had absolutely no problems with our plumbing backing up. We wouldn't hesitate to have them do more work for us.

I chose Day & Night Air Conditioning & Heating based on the Angies List reviews I read and I also requested Jeff Oehm as my service person. The appt. was scheduled for September 10, 2015. Jeff arrived on time, was very personable, and I was impressed with his thoroughness. Upon changing the r/o filters, he indicated the sediment filter was blackened from the tax system installed in the garage. We went out to the garage so Jeff could see the system. He alluded to the fact that he had not seen an installation done quite that way. There is a filter in my system and Jeff wondered if it was even working. He proceeded to take half a dozen photos of the system & installation and then made several phone calls to others that are educated with these water systems. He seemed concerned, which led me to be concerned. He indicated I should give him about two weeks to do some checking and then he would get back to me. Five weeks have now passed and I have heard nothing... I would think the courtesy of a phone call would be in order to let me know what he found out, or if he did not pursue the matter and has no interest... I would like to know that also.

Our 12-yr old Trane heat pumped stopped working on 9/3/15. I called Day & Night and a service man was out to check the system within the hour. It would cost about $2,200 to repair. My wife and I decided to check into replacing and a salesman was out the next day. He checked out the vents in the attic, assessed the house, etc. We decided to go with a new Trane, to be installed on 9/11/15. During the interium, they gave us 2 portable window AC units which helped out some, but it was really hot outside. We were so glad when the day came to install the new unit. The workers arrived on time, was courteous, keep the mess to a minimal and cleaned up when they were done. In fact, they removed some junk left behind by the previous company who installed duct work.....which Day & NIght re-modified and added to it so we could get better cooling. Overall, they did a great job. The follow up check was 9/24/15. Some minor adjustments were made to the dampers in the attic to redirect some of the air flow; the ducts were checked to make sure there were no leaks; and the heat pump inspected. We were good to go! I have used Day & NIght for plumbing many times in the past year and was very satisfied. Now I can say the same thing about the AC service. If you're looking for good, quality work and workers who respect you and your home, do what they say they are going to do, then, this is the company for you.

It went great. I had an estimate done on Friday but there wasn't enough time for the plumber to do the job that day, so we made an appointment for Monday. On Monday I got a call that the plumber who did the estimate was sick and a different plumber would do the work. I said fine. Jeff Oehm and Liberty were the two plumbers that came to do the work. Jeff took the lead and immediately checked the water pressure. It was 95 psi. He said that was significantly too high and they would need to put a pressure reducing valve in the system to get the pressure down to 70 - 75 psi. It made sense, but that wasn't part of the original estimate, so I was concerned the cost was going to be a lot higher than the original quote. So Jeff and I talked about the situation. He worked hard to keep the price down and in the end I was very happy with our new agreement. It was fair for both sides. He also spotted the shutoff valve on my hot water heater was in real bad shape. Lot's of corrosion and looked like it could start leaking any time. So we added that to the plan. The work Jeff and Liberty did was top notch. They were nice guys and clearly wanted to do a good job. Also Jeff was great at explaining what they were doing and why. I had my AC and furnace replaced by Day & Night. They did a great job so that's why I called them when I needed plumbing. I'll definitely use them again when the need arises. If you need plumbing work done, I'd call Day & Night and ask for Jeff to be your plumber. I will.
Description of Work: I needed new shutoff valves for the house and watering system, plus new outside faucets (3).

I decided to just have the front service worked on which the technician did a good job on. Initially I wanted a shower drain cleaned out and toilets pulled and mounting flanges checked and replaced as needed but the book pricing on these items was ridiculous. Technician was very up front with book pricing and acknowledged customers commonly provided feedback on this high book pricing for straight forward items. $250 to pull a toilet and replace wax ring! $200+ to snake drain. Day & night management should consider offering flat time and materials rates with reasonable margin when other items are being done. Charge your book pricing with the big markup on the biggest single project and then time and materials at a reasonable rate on additional items. They lost additional work because they are treating every book item as if it were the only item being done on the call! And now I still need to address the other items still.

It didn't seem to solve the problem. Their service was good. But, I don't know why the problem is still happening. They were supposed to send an invoice. I guess, their system was down and he was going to send me an invoice on e-mail. I don't think I've received one. I did not have to pay anything in addition to the deal price. The technician was friendly and everything was easy and it went smoothly and quickly. So that was good. But, it probably would have been good to hear back from them with a follow-up and then also ask them why we were having that problem again. He was helpful and friendly and made some suggestions without being pushy. So that was good.

My personal trainer recommended this company and I have to say I was extremely impressed. My technician's name was Micheal Probst. Technician called to ask if he could show up early and did. He was very respectful and knowlegable. He gave me a price quote before starting work and the price quote was accurate when done. He did a great job and the service is guaranteed for 1 year after wards. Technician was also able to come out on Saturday at no extra charge. Staff was extremely friendly when I called to schedule and answered all of my questions.

They came up with a really long list of things that we needed to fix that was going to add up to about a whole new unit. They cleaned up. We took their advice and went for a second opinion and just had few of the things done but not everything. I think that they do a fine job. What they were recommending was a little over the top.

After reading reviews on various air conditioning/heating/plumbing contractors on Angie's List, I chose Day & Night. I called them because my air conditioning unit just quit working. There had been a thunderstorm the night before so I reset the breaker and was able to turn the outside condenser unit on with the thermostat, but there was no air coming throught the vents - the blower motor in the attic was not coming on. My Carrier unit is over 12 years old and has not been on a regular maintenance plan, so I was expecting at least an expensive repair bill if not a complete system replacement. Willy Rodriquez came out to do the service. He was on time, friendly, professional, clean, and great with my dogs. After listening to my account of the situation and inspecting the unit, he was able to quickly assess the problem. Willy clearly explained what needed to be done, including pictures taken of the damaged parts, allowing me to understand the repairs without climbing into the hot attic myself. He found a failed blower motor run capacitor, very corroded furnace receptacle and a worn power cord that could have started a fire in my attic. Willy gave me a detailed estimate of cost, suggested options and recommended a Platinum Maintenance Agreement which would cover some of the service and parts I needed. I signed up for the maintenance plan and ended up saving more money than the total cost of the repairs, service and maintenance plan combined. Very good deal! After making the repairs, Willy inspected the entire split system, cleaned the coil and added refrigerant which was very low. He took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions about duct sealing and replacing the entire unit in the future. No hard sales pitch or pressure to buy. Left all areas neat and clean. My A/C now maintains a consistent temperature and is running better than it has in years! I am very happy with the repairs done, Willy's professional service over alland everyone I interacted with at Day & Night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Day & Night had been out to my house the week before to repair my air conditioning unit. Because I was so pleased with their service, I mentioned that I needed a new garbage disposal installed. Willy gave me information about the company's Plumbing Maintenance Plan, which I purchased at that time. I then contacted Jason, Plumbing Manager, who answered all my questions about the new disposal and gave me a quote. Michael Probst came out to do the installation of the garbage disposal. He called first to ask if he could come out a little early, was friendly, professional, clean, and great with my dogs. In addition to installing a new disposal, Michael performed a whole-house plumbing inspection, flushed the water heater, tested for leaks, checked water pressure inside and out. He totally cleaned up his work areas. He gave me recommendations for better water efficiency, changing out the emergency shut-off valves, and options for replacing my 12-year-old water heater in the future. No hard sales pitch or pressure to buy. He took time to thoroughly answer my questions about tankless water heaters and installing an RO system. I am very happy with my new garbage disposal, Michael's professional service over all, and everyone I interacted with at Day & Night. I think the Plumbing Maintenance Plan is a very good deal. Repair cost was exactly as quoted over the phone - no surprises. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Our A/C would not come on so we called Day and Night. The service tech, Philip Brook, agreed my Carrier A/C was still under a 5 yr warranty so there would be no charge for parts. He said the condenser fan motor and capacitor needed to be replaced and the charge would be $379.32. He said he could do it with a truck stock motor but if I wanted to stick with Carrier there would be an additional $85 charge. I said I'd stick with the truck stock since he said it would still be a one year warranty which is same as Carrier parts. I asked him how long to do and he said 30 to 45 minutes. I asked why such a high labor cost for such a quick job and he said there was a lot of back-end paperwork stuff to do with Carrier to exchange the old motor for a new one. I asked if there were any discounts available for seniors, disabled, or Angie's List members. He said no since I had received an Angie's list discount the first time I called and got service from them. He did indicate there were discounts if I had an annual service contract but the prices he quoted again were pretty high, and since I'm already feeling gouged, not very attractive. I felt like he had me over a barrel with plus 100 degree temp and the air out. Plus, my daughter took off work to provide him access to our house. So, I said to go ahead even though I had the beginning hunch I might be doing business with the wrong company. The next day I called a Carrier authorized dealer for sales and repair, Jaycox Air Conditioning (http://jaycoxac.com/) in Surprise, AZ, and confirmed they serviced my area in Goodyear. I explained that I needed a new condenser fan motor and run capacitor and asked what they would charge to do it. They quoted me a $65 service call charge plus $120.00 to do the work for a total of $185.00. My thought here was this seems like a reasonable charge based on travel, labor and the fact there's no part cost. So, the price quoted by Night and Day was roughly 100% higher than what a reputable, authorized dealer would charge! I called Day and Night and Asked to speak to the service manager but he was out. Several days later I got a call back and explained exactly what happened to the service manager. He said their pricing was based on the job and industry standard nationwide charges. That the best he could do would be to offer me a 20% discount, and lowered my price to $315.26. Unfortunately, this was still 70% higher than Jaycox. I wasn't looking for the lowest price but a 70% price difference still seems ridiculously excessive, so I will definitely call Jaycox next time. Pricing by A/C repair companies is perplexing, frustrating and usually excessive. That's perhaps why there are so many out there. It seems like the great majority will charge whatever they can get away with. The only thing I know will help is better detailed reviews on Angie's list, so we know which companies are not pricing fairly and we don't call them. Try to price compare whenever possible and put that in the review. List on Angie's the exact detail work done so we can see and know what others are charging before we get an estimate on a new service call. We make it possible to be ripped-off when we don't do our due diligence and/or take the time to provide detail in the reviews we write. It's up to us.

Same day service on a hot humid day after a major storm was very much appreciated. Ronnie Brion, our service technician was outstanding. He arrived early (again much appreciated) and was very pleasant and professional. After identifying the problem (condenser motor) Ronnie went over the issue with us and also showed us on his IPAD that the coils needed to be cleaned. We decided to have this done and went with the gold maintenance plan which lowered our cost. Bottom line Ronnie was excellent and we had our a/c back up and running a few hours after we called.

My AC stopped blowing cool air in the middle of the night. I called at 7am and they were at here at 11am. They replaced motor and capacitor. While no one likes to see a large bill, I felt based on the noise I heard from the motor it was not good. Their cost was in line. I would say they were honest and provided excellent service. Ronnie, the repair technician, was very thorough in his explanations and in his work. I did not feel pressure to purchase anything I did not need. I would certainly call them again

FANTASTIC !! Mid August heat wave in Phoenix Arizona, temperatures over 110 degrees EVERY day, and our old unit died in an electric storm. We are retired seniors. Next morning, a guy in our neighborhood raved about how great Day & Night is. They came out about an hour later, even though they thought it might be 2-3 hours until they could get here, in Sun City. We'd done some of our homework through "Consumer Reports" ect. We got the most energy efficient model we could buy, plus the extended warrantee and unit surge protector, installed. This is $3000 LESS than an estimate from a competitor's bid through Costco several months ago. They installed the NEXT DAY, 24-hours after we called them. They've already been back to check on the unit! All the Day & Night guys that came to the house were VERY polite PLUS professional. They cleaned up everything neat as a pin, wore shoe covers inside our house. Thanks guys!

Almost two years later and our system is still running great. I got quotes from 5 different companies and narrowed it down to two based on Angie's list reviews, price and my discussions with the salesperson. This company was very easy to detail with. They showed up when they said they would, did good work and left everything clean. The salesperson modified our quote several times as we considered different options. Once the quote was done we were handed off to a scheduler - I personally prefer to keep dealing with the same person the entire time. One minor thing was missed in the quote that the installer noticed when they came to install which bumped up the duct work estimate by $300 which was annoying and I wasn't happy with the location of a register but other than that the whole job was smooth. In the past 2 years we have stayed on their bi-annual maintenance program. All of the technicians sent out have been very professional and have always shown up when they were supposed to. I would not hesitate to recommend this contractor.

I discovered water in the laundry room, and didn't know where it was coming from. The hoses on the washing machine were old but intact. I called Day & Night Air/Heating/Plumbing at 4:30 in the afternoon yesterday, told them my problem, and Jeff Oehm showed up less than 2 hours later. After checking around, he discovered my 14 year old water heater had developed holes in the bottom and was squirting water into the alcove it was located in, in the garage next to the laundry room. He got the water shut off to the water heater, allowing cold water in the house that night, and stemming the flow (somewhat) from the water heater. Jeff gave me a listing of all costs, and let me know what would be done. Note: all quoted costs included parts, labor, and taxes. It was too late to replace the water heater yesterday (locations selling them were closed), so we scheduled a very early start this morning. Jeff showed up on time (6:30 AM) today, drained what water was left in the old water heater - and there was a surprising amount - then removed the old, rusted 30 gal, replaced it with the new 40 gal water heater, installed a drain pan, flex lines and ball shut-off. The drain pan will be there in case of a future, similar issue, allowing the water to drain into the garage, rather than into my house through the drywall. He also took care of all of the gas line connections and release valve drain line on the water heater. As a "Merry Christmas" in August he replaced the washing machine's old black rubber water lines with new flex lines, they were 14 years old as well. Jeff was wonderful throughout, answering all my questions. He showed me how to adjust the water heater's temperature, and how I could interpret the LED light on the thermostat. He also made sure I had the operator's booklet and model+serial numbers needed for the warranty. When done, Jeff cleaned up the work site, hauled off all the old parts, as well as cardboard case that had been around the new water heater. He also warned me to have fans going to help dry things out and prevent mold in the garage, laundry room, and Oh! that closet that was water-logged. (The wet closet was an unexpected surprise for me.) All in all, what started with a bad experience - the leaking water heater - ended with a good experience with Jeff the Plumber from Day & Night Air/Heating/Plumbing. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Replaced the gas water heater, replaced ball flex lines, and installed a pan under the water heater. And replaced flexible hoses on the washing machine.

Technician arrived on time and prepared. He spent almost 3 hours at my house going over all components. He thoroughly explained to me what needed to be done. There were no surprise costs. Additional items and services were offered for sale, but there was no pressure to accept these. I feel like I know more about my system now than I did before, and I am better able to maintain basic elements of it. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Thorough cleaning and inspection of air conditioning unit, additional cleaning of air handler, and extended cleaning of condensate drain line.

Well, we just returned home from a nice relaxing weekend in the woods camping. When we returned home Saturday afternoon, we found our water heater had starting leaking. The water heater in the garage leaked onto the floor, and unfortunately into the inside adjoining bedroom. My wife and I went to work pulling up soaked carpet and padding, even before we unhooked the travel trailer. I stated that we needed to call a plumber for an emergency fix. But who do we call ? Neither of us knew a plumber. TaDa, I went to Angies list and began a search. I found Day an Night plumbing and placed a call. Within a few minutes, master plumber Jeff returned my call. Jeff assured me he would have the problem solved before nightfall. Jeff ordered the necessary parts and arrived a short time later. Long story short, Jeff was AWESOM and fixed our problem in a short time. Jeff was great to work with and I HIGHLY recommend him and the company. The price was a little high, but it was done right, and done on a Saturday evening. Jeff, your the man !!!!!

After having problems with my A/C unit, I sought bids from multiple companies. Day and Night was extremely informative and low pressure. They didn't need to make a sale during the initial contact, and were very polite. During the install, the crew showed up on time, were very courteous, and most importantly cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use them again.

He confirmed the AC was the original (18 yrs old), which I knew and knew it needed to be replaced, but he was there to make sure all else was good. Turns out the vents were not installed properly in the attic when the house was built. Air is constricted due to improper placement of vents which means the full vent was not being used. In other words, the air was being pushed through smaller openings than it was supposed to which was making the AC work longer and harder than it should have been and raising the use of electricity. The quote to replace the AC and vent system has to be provided by someone else. The guy who came to the house was only able to provide cost for repairs. I was given the option to spend some money to repair a few things, but it was too costly for an AC that was 18 yrs old and needs to be replaced within a few months.
Description of Work: Reviewed the entire AC system to identify why my electric bill was so high.
