The door itself was $600, something like that. The installation was like $900, that was ridiculous. It took about 3 or 4 hours to put the door in. It wasn't bad. It was just one guy. I was shocked, I was surprised. If I had to use them I would. I like the door, it works a lot better than the other one. This one's a nicer above grade door. They cleaned the area up. The only thing that I didn't like about them was when you go in to have something like this done, you buy the door. First, they come out and they measure. They call Home Depot and they tell them everything they need for the job. When you go in to place your order, they tell you everything you need. You need this kind of wood, you need this kind of framing, you need this caulk, this insulation, you need, this, this, this. That's fine, I'll pay for it all. They left and I had a lot of wood left, I had a while tube of caulk left, and I had some insulation left and they took every bit of it with them. They did not ask me one time if I wanted any of it, they just took it with them. I guess you've got to stop them and go, oh wait a minute! That's mine, I paid for it! He picked it all up, took it out to his truck. I don't know what in the h*ll he used it for. In other words, there was a lot more that he took away then we needed to order. You would expect small pieces, but he took 2 great big long strips of wood away with him, and he took a whole tube of caulk with him and I forgot something else. He took something else with him. They just pick it up and take it with them. They don't go, excuse me ma'am, do you want the rest of this stuff? Now you would expect them to take the old door, you don't want the old door. Yea, take the old door away, but the rest of the stuff? It's like dude come on!
Description of Work: I bought an Arcadia glass door and they put it in.

Went to get paint Friday. 1 young man working. 7 people waiting. Another HD girl comes over; starts quacking at the young man. She asks where is so & so? She is loud enough for everyone to hear & not kind at all; telling him the other girl should not have left. He said he was busy & trying to help everyone. She tells him to calm down. She starts to help customers & is rude to them. Did not apologize to customers & started waiting on people out of turn. I stood there about 20 more min till I got helped. Chalked it up to circumstance. Had to go back for more paint on Sunday. More of the same. Same 2 employees working. Stood there again for 20 min. Did not get acknowledged by either of them. No one said they would be helping me in a minute. Nothing - not a word. No approach. Finally the young man puts his cell phone back in his pocket & asks if he can help me. Duh! I need paint. Told him he did the same thing to me the other day. Looked at the other girl over at the paint samples-she's putting her cell phone back in her pocket. Neither of them seemed like they could be bothered in the least little bit. Stopped at customer service and told the cs person the 2 employees in the paint area need training. He asked me if I had paid for my paint. Yes, thus the receipt & paint can in my hand. He said he was sorry & started to say "on your next visit...do you want to speak to a manager?" I told him there would not be a next visit. If you need paint try Lowe's. Even worse than your typical Home Depot experience. When customers are just looking at each other & shaking their heads, you have a problem Home Depot.
Description of Work: Purchase paint.

They are the closest to me. They are always good there. Their price is fine. I get good stuff there. They could have better responsiveness. It is hard to find someone.

The overall experience was horrible. I will never shop at Home Depot again. I purchased the slate at a sidewalk sale - good. They came to measure in three days - good. I was quoted an installation price twice what I thought it should be. I was informed that slate is a natural stone and costs more to put in (almost $6/sq ft vs $3 for tile, go to Home Depot and look at installation prices posted). After two weeks of waiting for installation the installer (Ambassador Flooring - great) told me that Home Depot had informed them the grout was on back special order. When I called Home Depot thought I knew it was a special order as it said so in the "computer". No, I did not know and went asap to pick out a grout in stock. When I went to pick out grout they had no record I had even called. Not sorry, didn't care after all the computer knows all. At that point I gave up and dealt only with their sub-contractors whom were great. It is now 8 weeks and I think my floors might be done this week.
Description of Work: Put new slate flooring in two bedrooms. All work done by excellent sub-contractors.

HOME DEPOT GAVE ME A PRICE OF $5-7 PER YARD OF CARPET. I AGREED TO A $50.00 MEASUREMENT FEE, THE MEASUREMENT PROFESSIONAL QUICKLY WENT TO MY HOUSE TO MEASURE THE CARPET. HOWEVER HOME DEPOT'S PRICES WERE HIGHER THAN QUOTED. HOME DEPOT GUARANTEED 72 HOUR INSTALLATION BUT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE AN ESTIMATE FOR 72 HOURS. I TALKED TO SOME REPRESENTATIVES WHO EVENTUALLY DID REFUND MY ACCOUNT. I REALLY APPRECIATED THAT AND WILL USE THEM AGAIN FOR TAKING CARE OF THIS.
Description of Work: RECEIVED ESTIMATE AND MEASUREMENT FOR CARPET BID.
