Description of Work: Seems like a good company form other reviews, maybe we are the exception. Here's what happened.One of our A/C units was not putting out cold air as it should. So we called Magic Touch in the am and they were able to make it out to our house that after noon. They were prompt and very nice. The tech found the problem quickly. One of the two A/C units was low on freon(R-22). They charged $435.00 for diagnosis and freon. Seems steep to me but maybe that's the going rate, I don't know. They also wanted to charge another 175 for a leek test that they said probably wouldn't find anything. We declined. This is all par for the course when you have to deal with any kind of Tech. You know it is going to cost you a lot of green backs. Fine so long as they do a excellent job. This one however was not satisfactory. The tech left one of breakers unplugged from the unit when he was done. The breaker was left laying on top of the outdoor unit with the breaker door wide open. This tech obviously did not check his own work. Unfortunately for us we didn't find the error until the next morning. After we already slept in a hot house.

Let me start with an apology as well as some peace of mind that the work performed was indeed checked. I did speak with the technician and he sends his deepest apologies for not resetting the power to the outdoor unit when he left...it was an accidental oversight, and he feels very bad about it. With regards to the peace of mind, the unit he left unplugged was not the unit that required the repairs, it was the other unit. When there are two units located right next to each other outside, the fastest way to determine which controls which part of the house is to disconnect power to one while leaving power to the other. The technician continued to diagnose the unit in need of repairs and forgot to turn the power back on to the other unit in the meantime...and he was really apologetic about it. If you read through other reports you will see his name mentioned in many great reviews as he has been with us for a few years and is a client favorite. He is a very talented technician and it is rare that he overlooks something as simple as making sure the power is turned back on before leaving a clients home. You are correct in assuming we are a good company based on our other reports and while we try very hard to always exceed expectations, we too are sometimes make human errors...but we really are very sorry about this. I hope you will give us another opportunity and I would like to offer to waive the diagnosis fee the next time you need service or a free tune-up on one of your units...your choice! We have no record of ever doing work for this individual and have looked by name, address, and date he alleges work was done. We have contacted Angie's List to rectify the situation and were informed it will take up to 7 days to try to contact him to provide evidence of any work we performed for him. It's odd that there is no verbiage in the report, merely straight F's and a claim of spending $500 for service? We have a sophisticated customer management software that can pull up a complete customer history in seconds, yet find nothing about this individual. Please disregard this report until Angie's List can remove it.

Excellent, very satisfied overall
Description of Work: Inspected and serviced two 5 Ton split package A/C units that are approximately 10 years old. Added refrigerant and tuned up both units to manufacturers specs. Also added both units to a scheduled maintenance program at a cost of $139 per unit per year. The technician was excellent (Blake) and I was very pleased with the service I received. I'd recommend them to others

Description of Work: I read the recent negative reviews and the owner's responses and was willing to give this company a try, as I understand some people are just complainers. I reviewed Magic Touch Mechanical's website and under "Service & Repair" it says "free second opinions on major repairs". I had another company come out and they told me I needed a new compressor, which is a major repair. So I called Magic Touch and the gal who answered the phone told me they had no such free service and that it wasn't on their website. I then directed her tab by tab to the service and repair section and pointed out where it said "free second opinion on major repairs". She said "oh wow" and then put me on hold. She came back a minute later and said their website was being "updated" and they no longer offer free second opinions. What BS, obviously I should have given more credit to the recent negative reviews of this company. Trust me, go somewhere else.

DESPITE WHAT THE ONLINE SELLERS CLAIM YOU HAVE NO WARRANTY! READ ANY MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY, MOST SAY SPECIFICALLY "(FILL IN COMPANY NAME)...WARRANTY IS VOID AND NO WARRANTY GIVEN TO PRODUCTS PURCHASED ON THE INTERNET". I HAVE A COPY OF GOODMAN’S MINI SPLIT WARRANTY SITTING NEXT TO ME RIGHT NOW...FOURTH PARAGRAPH, FIRST LINE! IN FACT A FACTORY REP JUST TOLD ME THE OTHER DAY ON THIS SAME SUBJECT "WE CAN TRACK EVERY SERIAL NUMBER EVER ISSUED, IF THE EQUIPMENT WAS NOT PURCHASED BY A CONTRACTOR, ALL WARRANTIES ARE CONSIDERED VOID". HE ADDED "I'D BE HAPPY TO REITERATE THAT PERSONALLY, FEEL FREE TO GIVE THEM MY NUMBER". THIS DISCUSSION TOOK PLACE AFTER DISCUSSING AN INDIVIDUAL THAT WAS STUCK WITH AN INOPERABLE SYSTEM PURCHASED ONLINE THAT THE SELLER IS REFUSING TO TAKE BACK, REPAIR, OR EVEN SUPPLY REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR. THE COMPANY WHO INSTALLED IT "OUTRAGEOUSLY CHEAP" DID A MICKEY MOUSE HACK JOB INSTALLING IT AND ARE CLAIMING THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE THE EQUIPMENT WAS FAULTY. SO TO SAVE SOME MONEY (EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE HAS HAPPENED) THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS NOW SPENT THOUSANDS ON INOPERABLE EQUIPMENT THEY CANNOT RETURN, FRANKLY HAVE NO RECOURSE AND NOBODY TO BLAME EXCEPT FOR THEMSELVES. WE HAVE TWENTY SEVEN A+ REPORTS ON THE LIST FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE USED OUR SERVICES. WE EARNED ALL OF THOSE A'S BY PROVIDING EXCELLENT SERVICE AT A FAIR PRICE AND BACKING IT UP.
