I learned minimal information except that our house is old (80+ years which I already knew), the ducts are too large (which they had no suitable solution for when I asked and they told me that it appears most homes have ducts that are too large and unsealed), that much of our energy seepage is through windows and doors and even the wooden shutters do not significantly insulate. They gave me energy efficient light bulbs which I can pick up at my local COSTCO. So they confirmed what I pretty much knew with no solutions. I am waiting for 3M or some innovative company to come out with a insulating paint for our brick home. We were already installing a 3M insulating film on the windows in direct sun and that does appear to assist. I should add that the serviceman allowed me to see the energy loss on his gun which I liked. But they come in the morning so that was less helpful; I wanted the inspection in the heat of the day to best identify the worst effects.
Description of Work: Performed a APS approved home energy audit.

I left you another message yesterday hoping to speak with you regarding your report. I see you wrote some very nice comments about both the Building Analysts who conducted your energy audit as well as the Service Technician who serviced your A/C & Heating system on the invoices, so I'd like to hear what has changed your opinion of the service you received since then and hopefully change it back :) I have read through your energy analysis report and do see some recommendations that were made in order to improve your homes efficiency. With regards to the over-sized ducting (specifically from a return on investment standpoint), we try not to make recommendations to clients in which we feel the "juice is not worth the squeeze", i.e.; if the cost of renovations doesn't produce a reasonable payback in efficiency savings in a certain period of time, we typically don't recommend the renovation...although we are happy to, if that is our client's desire. My apologies for our Analysts not letting you be the one to make that decision and I would be happy to offer you a FREE inspection again in order to determine a cost to re-duct your home should you feel you would like that option. I also wanted to share with you that there are in fact several paint products on the market like the one you mentioned in your report, that you wished someone like 3M made. While we don't sell or apply "reflective paint" or "insulating paint", we can give you some recommendations on which of these products we've seen our clients have measured success with (in one instance dropping the inside of an exterior wall temperature by 15 degrees). I appreciate you taking my call the other day and would like to continue our conversation when you are feeling better so I can make sure we are giving you the best possible service and hopefully get you thinking of Magic Touch as an A company, and not just a C company :) Thanks again for your time! Sincerely, Rich Morgan, President - Magic Touch Mechanical

The technician was prompt and thorough. He explained what was necessary and why. Clarified that the current unit was functioning correctly even though it struck me as sounding loud. Also, as he was bringing a his ladder through the garage noticed the water heat was set to its "pilot" light setting incorrectly and brought that to my attention even though it was not his responsibility to check it.
Description of Work: Inspection and Tune up of A/C Replaced a faulty part diagnosed at the same time to keep the unit healthy. Advised on timeline for replacing system (original to house in 1997).

The appointment went well. They checked everything that they said they would. Our home was brand-new and we were trying to figure out why our electricity bills were higher than the "average" home, as termed by SRP, with the same square footage and with a pool in our area. The home we purchased was billed as a high efficiency home with a low HERS rating. There weren't any deficiencies found and the only suggestion the mechanical company had for us was to consider installing sun screens. The gentleman that came out was professional and friendly and apologetic that he couldn't offer me a better solution as to why our bills were higher than the average home - with our "super energy efficient" home from Ryland Homes (formerly Trend Homes).
Description of Work: They came out and did a whole home energy audit.

Thank you so much for your kind words and rating of our company as well as the opportunity to help you solve your high utility bill issues. I would give serious consideration to the solar screen option as they do make a significant difference in reducing the heat gain into your home. I personally install them on my own home every summer. My wife isn't delighted with the amount of light they block out (I use the 90%'ers) but likes the reduction in our utility bill, so it all works out in the end and everyone is happy :) Thanks again, we look forward to hearing from you in the future when we can help out with any of the other services we offer. I purchased the big deal from Angie's List and they did fine. They had like an eighteen point check or something like that, that they did. I was very pleased. They called me right away as soon as I got the deal. They called, set up an appointment and they were there like two days later. Everything was fine. I thought it was very fair price and I don't have anything to compare it with as I'm new to Arizona.

We're sorry you feel this way and give such harsh grades. We felt we were doing our best for YOU by informing you that your utility company did not offer the rebates available that others like SRP and APS did, and by offering you the opportunity to receive a full refund BEFORE finding that out. We even went as far as calling your utility company and spending quite a bit of time being transferred around from department to department, and requesting they make an exception on your behalf and offering you some comparable rebates. I hope you will consider rethinking your review as there were three people at our company and a total of 2-1/2 hours spent trying to get your utility company to provide YOU with rebates, that we MUST offer in accordance to the Home Performance with Energy Star Program guidelines. I know I as a consumer myself would like a business to inform me upfront before I spent my money that I did not qualify for rebates and discounts that others did...in fact I would be very appreciative that they were looking after my wallet as much as I was. We did offer to still conduct the audit at the price we MUST charge according to the program guidelines if you wished or you could receive a full refund for the $99 you spent. Please consider changing your review, it is unfair and we did what was right for you. We cannot control that your utility company opts not to participate in the program. Sincerely, Rich Morgan, President - Magic Touch Mechanical, Inc.

I highly recommend Magic Touch Mechanical. They have been my provider of choice for HVAC issues for at least the last 2-3 years. Their crews are pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable - and so is their office staff. All of them are always helpful, quick to respond, and get the job done. Magic Touch has an overarching goal to keep my A/C units running in top condition at the most reasonable price. Unlike other HVAC service providers who came to my home in years past, Magic Touch makes it their top priority NOT to try to sell me a new A/C unit each time they are here. In fact, they've advised me to keep my existing units running in peak condition via routine service rather than making a large investment in a new unit UNTIL the time is right and the need is compelling. They do not pressure me to upgrade and recognize the fact that even if a homeowner saves $100-200/month on a reduced electricity bill, it takes a long time to recoup the $5,000-8,000 per unit it might cost to upgrade and install in my home. Thanks, Magic Touch, for being wise about my money. And for being honest and selling wisely, you have earned the opportunity to replace the HVAC systems in my current home when the time comes. I am certain the the same service and attitude will prevail. When Magic Touch comes to your home, they respect your personal space and make it a point not to track dirt and debris throughout the house. They cover their shoes, clean up their mess, and try their best to leave the place as it was when they arrived. We appreciate this, also. They are always on time, confirm their appointments, and try to accommodate the hectic schedules that we all endure each day. Again, I highly recommend Magic Touch to any Angie's List user. I expect that you'll be as happy with their capable services as we are!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was pretty good. The guy was nice and he was on time. It turned out that we have 2 A/C units and I didn't know that. They even offered to do the same service on the second one at the same price. We only did the one because it is a new unit. They answered my questions. They look like a good company so we would probably use them again. It was reasonably priced but I think it was the original price.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. The only caveat was that it was $66 per air conditioner unit and we had 2 units so I was a little surprised by that. I feel like this was a waste of time. It took almost all day, 6 hours at least, which I wasn't expecting. There were 2 guys, one worked on the heating and a/c systems and the other did the audit. He was the salesman. They checked all the vents and pressurized the house and then tried to sell you their service. I would have appreciated it much more if they did the audit, gave me the information/recommendations and given me time to think about it. The guys were really nice and the company could be great but they need to work on their energy audit. I don't know why it couldn't have been done in an hour. They just need to let you know up front more what to expect.

We are very disappointed and a little confused that you gave us an F in every category. Most members seem to very much appreciate the level of detail we put into our whole-home energy audit, and state in their reviews they cant believe they get both all they did for only $99, when most companies charge $70-$80 for just the air conditioning tune-up. I'm not sure how we missed the mark this time because one of the things we verify when setting up the appointment is that it will take at least four hours to complete the audit and I see record of that in your dispatch notes. It's not often that we receive a bad review for being too detailed and inspecting too much, but we would've gladly rescheduled when you had more time or refunded your money if you just didn't have more than an hour to spare. The reason we take the time to tell our clients on the spot what we found and what efficiency improvements we recommend is because the feedback we have gotten from customers over the years is that's what they want. Plenty of people make their decisions to go with recommendations weeks or even months later and we never expect anyone to make a decision on the spot if they're not comfortable making it. Please be aware that the person you referred to as the salesman holds multiple certifications in energy efficiency auditing and has over twenty years experience in this field. I wish we could've done more to make you happy. Sincerely, Rich Morgan, President - Magic Touch Mechanical

**Update** to Mr. Morgan's response to my initial response, 8/26/2013. Angie?s list members, I went to the trouble of writing an extensive letter in detail about the issues I?ve had with Magic Touch A/C. All the work, wasted time, aggravation, and expense Mr. Morgan has put me through and now he berates me for an error that my personal assistant wrote on Angie?s List (the only one she has ever written for me) stating the work was completed on June 13th, 2013. Maybe that was the date Marie wrote the complaint for me but does her error make this complaint ?fiction?? Keep that absurd ?fiction? statement in your mind as you read on here. The date his crew completed the installation was 4/15/2011. But he fails to mention that it took a very long time (months?) for that A/C drip pan to finally fill up, and drip by drip overflowed onto the attic insulation until the weight of the water soaked insulation became too heavy and the ceiling collapsed in my garage. (Morgan absurdly blames this on my coolers) It took time for all that to happen. It took many drips to first fill the large overflow pan then many, many more to soak the insulation until the drywall ceiling board to give way. It took 3 hours of my time to clean up that mess. So yes it was 2+ years ago that his employees did the faulty work that caused this complaint but if Mr. Morgan would have taken care of this real and serious complaint over a year ago I wouldn?t be writing and taking time away from managing my 4, A+ rated BBB businesses nor would I have had to spend many days away from my businesses because of the other damage his staff caused by stepping on my bedroom ceiling. I am not some sniveling moron complaining for no reason. Read my letter again if you want the truth and the real story. Then read Mr. Morgan?s lame response back. I took several hours to write that letter and it is NOT ?a work of fiction? anymore that the events in Benghazi, the IRS scandal, or the NSA snooping on all of us Americans, are simply ?phony scandals? as our ?liar in chief? would have you believe. NOTHING in my letter is false or fabricated. Now, did you also take note that Mr. Morgan says nothing about his employees leaving the old air handler in my attic which is a direct violation of Phoenix City code. Odd that he didn?t address or remember that fact isn?t it ? And maybe it just slipped his mind not to address the 3 A/C professionals (all recommended by the BBB) who I paid to come out, inspect his work, and found other issues that need to be taken care of including that large, cumbersome, rusting pile of metal ?air handler? that is still in my attic. Why no mention of that ? (possibly ?convenient? amnesia ?) Maybe the estimates all 3 A/C pros wrote to fix his work and bring the job up to code was more of that ?fiction? he was talking about. Did you also notice how he forgot to mention or explain why he has NEVER given me the courtesy of returning my phone calls. I have never spoken to him nor has he ever been to my home to see the work his employees have done. A $25,323,53 job that went bad and he, the business owner, has never returned a call or come out to my home. Just think about all that? here is supposedly an A+ rated BBB business who?s owner won?t return a customer?s phone call who has a very valid complaint ! But he has plenty of time to create an extensive brag sheet and list all his positive reviews for his web site and Angie?s list. And for the record here, I have NEVER written a complaint to Angie?s list, Yelp, or any other organization like them. That blatant lie and the slanderous accusation that I?m not being truthful and I?m ?covering my tracks? will soon come to haunt him and rightly so ! There is nothing in this letter or the previous one that is not truthful and backed by facts. When you read my letter did you note that I didn?t berate or speak ill of his employees. Mine was a very difficult job and his employees made some mistakes, but haven?t we all? In my 41 years of business my employees have made many mistakes, and I?ve had to pay to fix those mistakes, it?s simply part of being a business owner. It?s sad Mr. Morgan won?t accept the fact that mistakes were made that caused extensive damage to my home, but to somehow shift blame to me is despicable. My only mistake was to hire his company to install 2 Lennox Air Conditioning units. (BTW? Need a new A/C unit? Buy a Trane, not a Lennox. I mean why buy a Chevy when you can buy a Cadillac for the same money. Did I mention I wrote Lennox and they sent me a letter stating they were sorry and that they would forward my letter to their ?District Sales? and if I?d like they?d assist me in locating another Lennox dealer. I?ve never heard back. My advice, get a Trane ! ) Here is one thing I?ve not mentioned nor has Mr. Morgan. The invoice I paid to the man (Karl, and yes he is a personal friend and woefully competent individual) who made the extensive repairs was $2225.00. The reason I had Karl do this work was because one of Magic Touch?s ?handy men? made a mess out of cutting a hole in my hallway ceiling during the installation. His work was awful and Challen (one of MT?s employees) agreed and told me that man would never do work for MT again. Had Mr. Morgan come out and looked at the work his employees did incorrectly and looked at the work involved in repairing my ceilings he would have seen what a fair price that was for the work involved. I?ve spent no less than 40-50 hours of my personal time writing letters, having to stay at home while the work was done to make the repairs, getting the 3 quotes from the other A/C companies, and now bringing in an attorney to file litigation to get this resolved. I?ve never asked Mr. Morgan anything for my time or the aggravation this event has caused me but if I were an individual or business owner in need of an Air Conditioning repair company I?d certainly steer clear of Mr. Morgan and his Magic Touch A/C. I?ve no doubt his employees have done and are capable of quality work as referenced by his reviews but would you really want to risk the chance of something going wrong and dealing with an owner who won?t return your calls or as much as call you a liar just to save his reputation ? One last fact?.. shortly after I had the displeasure of dealing with Mr. Morgan I bought a property that was vandalized by thieves that stole all the copper from 2 large 7.5 ton commercial Air Conditioners. I called Magic Touch for a quote to replace those units. MT?s quote was appx $3000 more than Gunnell Air Conditioning. Jack Gunnell A/C was one of the 3 A/C companies I had come out to look at the work performed by MT. He didn?t charge me anything for his time that day, but he did, as the 2 other A/C pros, tell me that the air handler certainly should have been removed from the attic as it was a City code violation. I had Jack Gunnell replace those 2 commercial A/C?s for $17,000. Since then Jack has installed 3 other new A/C units on properties I own, plus 2 new coolers, and a new furnace at my mother?s home. In the past year and a half I?ve given Gunnell A/C over $31,000 in work with 1 small error he personally took care of. Of course Mr. Morgan would say I?m lying about that but unlike him I have the facts and receipts to prove I?m the one speaking the truth. In the end most hot tempered, egotistical, and arrogant business owners fail. Personally I wouldn?t buy stock in Mr. Morgan?s company.
Description of Work: Installed a Lennox Air Conditioning system. First off here….It should be noted that my recently hired personal assistant wrote the original complaint on Angie’s List. I thought if she would write something simple explaining the nature and issues about this fiasco Mr. Morgan at Magic Touch would simply fess up to his employee’s mistakes and settle the matter. But no, his ego and arrogance will not allow a simple solution to an issue he and his staff are clearly at fault for. So, that said here is the truth and facts of the matter in more detail and less kindness. Mr. Morgan, conveniently forgets to mention that his employees originally incorrectly installed something to do with the A/C draining system plus they forgot to make sure the drain lines were not plugged. Well the drain line on the A/C unit, over my garage, was plugged so the drain overflow pan filled up, the water dripped out for days and soaked the attic’s insulation material until finally a large portion of the garage ceiling collapsed ! That was a beautiful mess that I personally had to spend 3+ hours cleaning up. (Hmmm.. I wonder what dollar figure Mr. Morgan values his time at?) Now keep in mind as I roll on here that I own 4 large, busy, A+ BBB rated businesses and several commercial properties here in the Valley (41+years) and I live by myself with 2 unhelpful dogs. I work more than most people on this planet and my time is quite valuable. When my unlicensed but very competent (and always busy) contractor came over to see what caused the mess he noticed the drain pan problem and also some other things that were not done properly by Magic Touch. One “biggie” is the “air handler” (which is large and quite difficult to remove) was simply left up in the attic. Magic Touch removed one of the air handlers (2 A/C units, 2 air handlers) but some genius decided to leave the other one up there which is a direct violation of the City of Phoenix Building Code. Of course that violation is bad for Mr. Morgan’s business reputation so he (again) conveniently forgot to respond to that part of my complaint.I called Magic Touch, told them of the issue (s) and they agreed to send someone out. The man that came out (all Magic Touch staff were courteous and polite) said that something wasn’t done or hooked up improperly and he’d get it fixed ASAP. I believe it was at this time, that this employee went to check the other A/C drain line to be sure it was installed correctly and accidently stepped on my bedroom ceiling (drywall board). Sometime later… I was lying in bed watching TV and happened to look up and noticed the ceiling was “bowed” and further inspection showed it was cracked. Hmmm…. I wonder who’s been up in the attic lately that could have caused that ? Now, my ceiling is 14 feet high so you can imagine what a “breeze” it was to fix that unnecessary, time consuming, and very costly mistake. Once AGAIN take time away from my bus’s so I can make appt’s, be at home, wait for people to get here, watch them work, pass out cold water to keep them refreshed, twiddle my thumbs, etc. This repair took several days because it has to be done in steps and by “two” people and scaffolding ! Matching the paint was also quite difficult because I have a unique “striping pattern” on the walls that had to be matched. Not your everyday “let’s paint the garage today dear” job. Of course the bedroom furniture needed be moved, the 65” TV that’s mounted 9 feet high up on the wall had to be taken down, and all the wiring to the receivers, amplifier, Blue Ray player, and surround system disconnected. Another multiple hour, “piece of cake” job plus the extensive clean-up & vacuuming of all the “drywall dust” that goes everywhere. Just the kind of aggravation & time wasting event we all love and enjoy. Now a person who has read and is following this complaint should note that once again Mr. Morgan has forgot to mention this “ceiling event” in his responses. Not to me, Angie’s List, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau or the AZ registrar of contractors. Hmmm… did he also forgot to tell you all that even though I paid him and his company $25,323.53 for two “Lennox” (who also don’t give a d***, as they were informed about this issue) A/C units and have had all this trouble that he has NEVER even been to my home to see what my complaint was, the quality of work performed, or to apologize ? More truth and facts…. One of Magic Touch’s employees (Rick I believe was his name) looked at a well-built and tiled structure that I had built to shade my old A/C unit and told me that I should take that structure down as it would inhibit air flow over the top of the new A/C unit on the West end of my house. That shade was appx 7 feet above the top of the new unit and completely open on both sides ! Well, I’ve had three (yes 3) professional A/C companies come out, look at all the work performed by Magic Touch and all 3 said taking that structure down was ridiculous ! So I paid to take down a perfectly good shade structure because “Rick” advised it was not good for the new A/C unit. The three professional A/C men (Gary @ Extreme Cooling, John Hall @ Action Air, and Jack Grunnell @ Grunnell Air Cond, all 3 were recommended by the BBB) have given me written statements as to what it will cost to bring Magic Touch’s installation up to City of Phoenix code because it is not now. There were other quality issues that occurred during Magic Touch’s install but it makes little sense to drag this out as I think anyone with a modicum of common sense will understand by reading what I’ve written here and verified by 3 reputable A/C companies that Mr. Morgan’s boys screwed this job up. And because they work for him he has to pay for their mistakes. That’s what business owners have to do and what I have done many times in my 41 years. It’s quite simple, employees are human, they make mistakes, and the companies they work for pay for those mistakes. Being in and running a business (s) is no picnic, employees and government regulations make sure of that. Now if you’ve managed to stay awake through this lengthy description of Magic Touch’s mistakes & failures I’ve described in detail here you should also know that through all the misery, aggravation, and wasted time Magic Touch has put me through (including having to write this d*** letter) it should again be noted that Mr. Morgan has never come to my home to see what occurred, speak to me face to face or listen to my side of what has taken place. But to top all that the ever arrogant, egotistical, Mr. Morgan has never even spoken to me on the phone ! He has never given me the common courtesy of returning my phone calls (I’ve requested 2-3 times) from the beginning. And this is a A+ BBB rated business? His actions and unprofessional business behavior tarnish every reputable BBB member and the valuable service they provide for consumers. He should be ashamed………

Angie's List Members, If you read the well over 200 reports AL members have written dating back over 7-years, you will find the overwhelming majority rate Magic Touch an A company...and helped us to become a 4X AL Super Service Award Winner. To point out that this report is a work of fiction, the report starts by saying the work was done in June 2013 - in fact the work was completed 2-1/2 years ago! The ROC was never involved as stated, and as this member has pointed out the "unlicensed contractor he hired" (his friend) does unlicensed contracting work which is against the law. This member does regularly write and then update reviews on sites like yelp, etc. which change as they go - hence the statement that he "hired his assistant to write some" to cover his tracks...and I'm sure this one will be updated AGAIN too. He did in-fact file a BBB complaint and the BBB determined it should go to arbitration - Magic Touch accepted - this member declined. The real story is this member had a ceiling collapse from water damage and we responded in under an hour. When we arrived we found his evaporative coolers (maintained by his "unlicensed contractor" and not worked on by Magic Touch) caused the leak and this member as well as his "unlicensed contractor" not only agreed with that, he signed a document stating that. Over a year later we received an invoice for repairs from his "unlicensed contractor" (written evidence of the illegal unlicensed activity) demanding payment for damages we had already demonstrated was not caused by Magic Touch's work. Review this site alone and you will see hundreds of "truthful" reviews of the work Magic Touch performs and stands behind, as the majority says we provide grade A customer service, work and results! Thank you, Rich Morgan, President - Magic Touch Mechanical (also the owner of a BBB A+ rated company - because the majority says we've earned it!) 2013 NATIONAL CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR ~ Air Conditioning Contractors of America (selected from over 4,000 companies and 60,000 members as the "best of the best" in the country!)

We were very happy with them, and they did the work. They were on time, explained what they were doing, and were very thorough. We ended up signing with them for a service contract. I would recommend them to others.

I purchased a $ 59 for a 66 point AC super tune-up. The service worked out fine. I had two units, so I had to pay for the other unit. I paid another $59. It has been so long, I do not remember having any problems. I think they were fine. I would recommend them. He was on time.

I purchased a Rheem Air Conditioner unit from Magic Touch for $8,253.14 on 8/5/2011. On 8/12/2013, I wrote an exemplary review on another webstie in regards to the installation of this unit. It is now less than 2 years later and I want folks to know how Magic Touch is treating me now! This unit stopped working on 6/14/13. A technician came out on 6/18/13 - spent 3 hours on my roof and proceeded to tell me that his diagnosis was pretty bad. He said the issues this unit has are worse than he has ever seen before with a unit this new. Should be covered right? I mean after all it's not even 2 years old! His position was..... blame the manufacturer. Here's what Magic Touch came back with as an estimate for repair. Replace evap coil = $1,927.00 + Fuses, capacitor, and add refrigerant = $424.64.......totaling $2,351.64. I said forget it and sent them on there way, but of course had to pay a $75 diagnosis fee which they advised would be waived if I proceeded with the repairs. Gee thanks Magic Touch. It should also be noted that I was told the repairs would take a whole day and of course their repair people had to get paid which he indicated would come out of the $1,927.00. Another company came out the following day. Technician was on the roof for less than 60 minutes....replaced fuse, capacitor, and added 1 lb refrigerant and I was up and running. Repairs were covered under home warranty which is the route I should have taken in the first place, but trusted Magic Touch to make things right since the unit was so new and afterall they were the one's that sold it to me. I gave a B for Professionalism since the technician had to deal with my meltdown and seemed genuinely sorry. I cannot believe spending $8200 on a brand new air conditioner and less than 2 years later the same company wants $2,350.00 to fix it! What's wrong with this picture? I was very lucky to have kept my home warranty current. I will NEVER contact this company again and you can bet that I am telling everyone I can think of about my horrible experience with Magic Touch!
Description of Work: Nothing. I didn't use them and I will never call them again!

As the client who wrote this report is not an Angie's List member, I don't know how easy it will be for her to update / change her report (which she said she is going to try to do) so I've included her update review posted on another website after we spoke for approximately 45 minutes over the phone this past Friday. Even though we know non-member reports do not count against our overall grade, we felt it important to share that we very much care about all of our clients (reviews or not) and this one was posted more out of frustration and misunderstanding than anything else. We understand too, as this client was faced with a very major repair on equipment that is only a little over two years old and unfortunately is out of the 1 year labor warranty (the extended warranty was not purchased). We had a very pleasant conversation and she understands Magic Touch did all we could (within our control). Fortunately, the client has a home warranty company who will be responsible to cover the cost of repairs and we said we will do whatever we can to help make sure that happens! Sincerely, Rich Morgan, President - Magic Touch Mechanical Posting on other site which was originally the same review posted on Angie's List: This posting is an update from the negative review I posted about Magic Touch and my dealings with them on 6/ 18/13. I received an extrememly thoughtful call on 6/20/13 from the owner himself, Rich Morgan. It should be noted that he spent almost an hour on the phone addressing my complaint. He was professional and thorough and I was extremely impressed by his prompt call. It is obvious that he takes great pride in his work, his company, the staff, and his good name. I understand his position and company policies in regards to the differences between their warranty and a manufacturer warranty. The grades given are solely based on my conversation with him today. I will probably not be using Magic Touch for service in the future only because the repairs will be done through my home warranty. A word to the wise. If you are in the market for a new air conditioner by all means consider purchasing an extended warranty on the unit as I have found first hand that repairs can be extremely costly and can happen at anytime.

Thank you for the prompt and courteous service last week. Just three weeks after having my heat pumps (purchased & installed by Magic Touch in 2008) serviced this year, one of the units stopped working. Sam, a great guy, came to my house immediately to get me up and running. Before leaving, he did a thorough inspection and found that the cold air return duct on the unit had collapsed, most likely being the cause of the problem. He explained that the duct would have to be replaced by your installer. I did not expect that the repair could be done that day but less than two hours had passed when Nate called to say he was on his way. He made quick work of the installation and had the system back on-line. Wow! Thank them in our behalf. Incidentally, we discovered your company in 2008 through Angie?s List and gave you an ?A+?, like all the other satisfied customers. We will do that again for this experience. And congratulations as well for your national recognition.

I reached out to Magic Touch Mechanical to see if they would honor their discounted price from Angie's List on both units in my home since I have two and the coupon was written for one. The staff I spoke to in the office were professional and courteous. I was able to schedule the service appointment within a week and they agreed to honor the coupon rate for each of my two air-conditioning units without any hassle. The guys that came out for the service today were great. They were knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. I was given a wealth of useful information without any pressure to purchase or perform additional services. I'm not sure they would be the least expensive option for HVAC work, but they do seem to be genuinely interested in providing a valuable service at a fair price and keeping a happy customer. They showed up when they said they would, happily answered all of my questions, were respectful of my home, and gave me a detailed written report of their findings before they left. I liked these guys so much I inquired about and purchased a whole home energy audit to get a better handle on where I might improve my home's efficiency. Hopefully I can get them in for that soon and it goes as well as their inspection did today.
