Choose ANYONE ELSE!! Copper State was requested by a plumber my mom hired to fix her dishwasher. My mom ended up buying a new dishwasher but had this plumber install a PRV at his suggestion (amongst all sorts of other suggestions she did NOT hire him for). This plumber said it would cost $300. The job ended up costing $1269 and he charged her card the next day for $3500 with no invoice or explanation (police report and ROC complaints have been filed). During this work, the plumber claimed there were multiple leaks in her bathroom wall, called Copper State to rip her bathroom apart. Prior to doing that, Cooper State tested for lead and asbestos (which left a chunk out of her wall), scanned her bathroom walls with a thermal imaging gun (which apparently is broken as it detects things that AREN'T there), they ran fans/dehumidifiers for two days to dry out a supposed "active leak"... anyone else think that's weird???My mom was told by the plumber that this all of this would be covered by insurance. That's when she let my husband and I know what was going on. My husband raced over to her place and was trying to make sense of what was going on. When he asked if the plumber had used the access panel to see if he could locate and repair from there instead of ripping apart her bathroom, he said that was "impossible". At this point we realized that no party provided my mom with an invoice or explanation of costs or potential costs to her. We stopped any further work and had our plumber come in for a second opinion. Her bathroom never smelled or showed signs of any leaks, so it seemed strange that after hiring the plumber to help with her dishwasher, that her bathroom was now going to be ripped apart. When we called our plumber, they informed us that they NEVER do work without giving a thorough itemized quote of work to be done and would get a sign off before ever starting any work. Our plumber spent 1.5 hours looking over the area, going into the access panel that apparently the plumber and Copper State couldn't operate (taking some screws out is too difficult for some to look into before doing completely unnecessary work). Our plumber wrote up a very detailed report that no evidence of a past or present leak was found. During our investigation, we've found that the plumber my elderly mother hired is operating without a license and yet Copper State is willing to do work with him?! To blindly accept his claim of leaks without doing ANY basic inspection of their own?! To rack up a bill for my mom of over $2700!! To boot, their itemized bill is ridiculous. They have a charge for emergency services. This wasn't an emergency! It was even a THING! THERE WAS NO LEAK! Running their THERMAL IMAGING GUN which apparently is the biggest scam ever! They charged for plastic sheeting, which wasn't used. I could go on and on. What this boils down to is INSURANCE FRAUD and taking advantage of an elderly woman. Both are extremely sick and not something a reputable, honest and ethical company would do. As stated before, use ANYONE but Copper State to do any work you need.
Description of Work: It turns out NO work needed to be done. My mom’s shady plumber called Copper State out to rip apart her bathroom because he said she had multiple leaks. She had NO leak… so obviously NO EVIDENCE of a leak and yet Copper State couldn’t do some basic investigating before racking up charges for the insurance company and my mother?! Sickening!! It’s the equivalent of insurance fraud and elder abuse!!

Recently I had a major work on my existing home. I called Ms. Kendra, at Copper State, and she was with me daily checking on the process of the work. She was a great communicator between me, the owner, and her team work. I got the best of the best. Kendra at Copper State was a dot on the line, calling me daily to see how the process is going on and how I am feeling about their performance. Also, Mr. Jace Penrod, and the rest of the team. Thank you all for a great job. Thank you Copper State.

I hired Copper State Home Builders after a roof leak cause flood damage in my Master bathroom. A Nice gentleman came out by the name of Kyle. Who assessed the damage, and said they could demo the next day. They came back and demo’d my master bath, and took pictures of all damages for the insurance company. I was so impressed by how great Kyle was I asked him about other work I needed done at my house, if they would be able to do it as well, and I would pay them beyond the insurance payment. Kyle said they would do it and give me a fair rate for the addition work. I was excited to have 1 company able to take care of all the issues from the flood as well as the other modifications I needed done. A week pasted and I still had not heard from the reconstruction project manager. So I called in they said I would hear from them after they filed paper work for the roof and reconstruction of the master bath to my insurance. Then another week passed, they were still processing. Then 3 weeks passed. They sent out a guy that was supposed to be a project manager to walk me through the rebuild and discuss my options. They sent out a guy that didn’t speak any English, and the only thing he could say was “I take pictures.” Again I didn’t hear anything for a week. At this point I was done, my bathroom was down to studs, and I was paying to air condition my attic. Beau called me apologized for the issues and said they would send their best project manager to earn my business and he would discuss the project with me. He went on to say that I would be highly impressed with this gentleman as I was with Kyle. They sent him out and while he did speak English and was very nice. There was no discussion as to what they would be doing, or bathroom color we had picked out. No discussion of the additional work that I needed done. But (I don’t remember the guys name) he said we need to get the roof estimate in first and repair the roof before we could do anything in the bathroom. This guy made sense and was approaching the situation in my mind correctly. So, I figured we could always discuss the specifics of what I wanted done after the roof was done. Then another week passed, so I called in and asked if they need to send someone out to assess the roof, they said ‘no we have all we need with the pictures we already took.’ I was watching my insurance and nothing was file with them. I called the office and they said they would be filing it by the end of day. I waited another week still nothing. I received an email from Beau saying their normal roofing company was too busy to help and that he didn’t have any other companies available. He also stated that there was a lot of information missing from the estimate, and that Copper State didn’t have the correct software to do the estimate. It was up to me to find a roofer then they would come do the bathroom. Hold up?!? How did we go from we have everything we need, to, it’s up to you? So, I reply to him with that. Beau rudely tells me they are not a roofing company. If this is/was true then why did you represent your company as one that could do all aspects of the job? The whole time they wanted all money sent to me by my insurance. I am guessing with the poor service they provide that it would be to hold me into dealing with them. After roughly 2 months of my master bath being un-useable, I started reconstruction not through Copper State. I told Beau that the roof was completed and my bathroom was almost done. That I would send them the extremely over priced demo check and that we would be done. Beau had the audacity to tell me I was supposed to tell them when the roof was done so they could do the part of the job they wanted. Are you serious? I was supposed to contact you. How about I am a paying customer, pick up the phone and call me once in while. You had 2 months to earn the work. You chose to give me the run around. You chose to misrepresent your company. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with for home repairs. Their customer service is horrible and they are grossly overpriced. Be smart, find another company, having damage to your home is stressful enough, you don’t need to hire a company that you have to jump through hoops; so, you can pay them for their overpriced inferior services. ---I did do some reason on them, checked reviews online and they seem to be well rated. Now that I have dealt with them, I am noticing that some of their 5 star ratings are coming from people with the same names as some of their employees. A bit interesting. I do not know that they are actual employees but I can tell you some of their names match with employees I have dealt with.
