. They were pretty good.  He was very upfront, he gave everything in writing and he had given a breakdown of the estimate, it was really good.  They were quick in giving the estimate, keeping in touch and doing the work on time.  I recommend them to anybody.  I will use them in the future.

We contacted Reliable Remodeling based on a flyer left on our door. We were in need of new roof and also wanted to replace what was currently being used as roofing on our front porch. Initial dealing with the owner were pleasant and professional and we thought the pricing was fair. However, once the job got underway we had numerous issues/problems that caused us to be totally dissatisfied with this company. Some of the issues, contractor did not send out enough men to do the job, resulting in delays and also on at least one occasion the decking was left exposed during a rain storm. Construction of the porch was problematic, with lack of planning which resulted in leaks and subsequent wood damage. Calls to Reliable to deal with our complaints were not handled as they should have been.
Response from RELIABLE REMODELING
"We would love to be in a position to have helped your situation but we have never serviced the lower Alabama communities therefore you must have us confused with another contractor. We are located in Birmingham, AL."

We first had contact with Reliable Remodeling August 2007. After taking measurements and discussing work to be done and products to be used, an estaimate was provided. After talking to friends and looking at products available, we decided to go with tile floors, tile backsplash, and quartz countertops. We selected stainless steel appliances. Work in the kitchen started late in September and was completed by Thanksgiving. I always knew when workmen were scheduled to arrive and the workmen showed up on time or let me know that they would be late or could not come. Only once during the entire time Reliable Remodeling was working in my home was I left waiting. Work on the Master Bath began in mid-January 2008 and was completed in about 2 and 1/2 months. Again, I knew when workers would be coming and they were on time. During this remodel, the workman installing dry wall did not do a satisfactory job; however, Reliable Remodeling was quick to make it right. The tile was installed and walls painted satisfactorily. Again, we took a short break in the work schedule before starting the Hall Bath. The bath was gutted and the tub was removed. We opted for a tile shower stall and tile floor. We purchased pantry-style cabinets and a sink base unit which were installed by the Reliable Remodeling crew. A quartz countertop was installed along with a new sink and toilet. Everyone who worked on the bath did an excellent job. A few delays were incountered but the work was completed to our satisfaction. After work on the hall bath was completed, a leak developed around the shower door. Reliable Remodeling responded promptly to e-mails and telephone calls and worked hard to get the problem solved--even to the replacement of tiles in the shower curb. This work was done under the Warranty provisions of the contract. Work in the Living/Dining room was mostly cosmetic. The floor were refinished, crown molding was added, and the walls were repainted. All work was done timely and well. Reliable Remodeling was always prompt to do touchups and to make any needed adjustments. The Laundry Room was moved from the basement to a room just off the garage. Plumbing was added, the floor was tiled and the walls and woodwork were painted. Finally, the washer and dryer were moved from the basement. At the same time that the laundry room was being done, Reliable Remodeling removed an existing window in the study and installed an exterior door and storm door. A 4x4 landing and stairs were completed out of decking material and were stained to match other decking around the house. The baseboards were replaced and painted, and the wall was repainted. All work on these projects was completed by late July 2008. We were pleased with Reliable Remodeling's handling of the multiple jobs and with the quality of workmanship and materials.

Mr Walton's men would make a appointment to come start the work; I would take off early to come let them in, but then for 4 appointments they never showed, never called. When they finally did come out on the fifth appointment, they rushed through the job like they only had the one afternoon to complete it in. This was supposed to be a 3-4 day job. The men did no cleanup prior to putting down the vinyl floor, they didn't even move the washer, dryer or deep freezer out of the laundry room. They just moved them around. After removing the carpet in the living room, the young boy immediately began laying the wood floor - they didn't sweep the dirt & dust up, they didn't prep the floor, NOTHING! They just laid the floor down, over my protests! As a result, the men had to return several times. First, to the replace the vinyl in the laundry room; which left the seam between that room & the kitchen in rough shape and the drain to the washer constantly overflowing. I finally fixed that problem myself. The seam still has not been fixed. Then they had to come replace the glued down rail cover between the kitchen and the living room floor seam because it was not laid properly the 1st time. Then the living room floor starting coming unglued. I called Mr Walton repeatedly over a 2 week period. He finally came out, looked at the indecent job that had been done, said he would make an appointment to reglue the floor, left & never returned. That was May, 2007. After I called every day for 2 weeks he blocked my phone number and I have not heard from him except the one time in August 2007 when he mailed me a "1 yr guarantee" on his work. Talk about a joke! I would not let Mr Walton fix anything of mine again. He is not welcome in my home!
