TruGreen Lawn Care - 5768

We used true green for 3 years, they were unable to kill several different commonly occurring broadleaves in Bermuda grass. They would over charge me for incomplete work, I was able to have another company solve my problem very easily.

They always before hand to let you know they are coming. You don't have to be there while they are. I feel like we get what we pay for. They are very prompt.

I had great work out of Tru Green for years, but the last 2 years dropped. Complained last 2 year in a row and was told employee issues in my Calera, AL area has been a problem. "Guarantee" no more weeds 2 last year and manager came out and said give them time and it would be fixed. (Gave them time and my money) I so wanted to believe the manager. Gave them a year and still lots of weeds. They love using the word "Guarantee", but will only refund the last treatment. But they tell you the weeds you have now is because a treatment from months ago. Refund my bill months ago?? "No they can not do that!" After years of great service with no weeds.... Now have a $35 refund for spending $420 over 2 years with weeds. :( Don't worry the manager will "Guarantee" no weeks in months and weeks to come.

Good service. They do what their suppose to do and come on time.

We started getting a lot of weeds, particularly violets, in the yard and their treatments were not done very well. We never knew when they were coming so I am no longer using them. I had used them for 4 or 5 years but I will not use them again in the future.

They come once a month. They call ahead of time and tell me its time for a service. They do different things every time they come. The quality of our lawn and bushes has improved. They do what they say they're going to do.

We needed weed control and lawn fertilization, and answered a direct mail advertisement for Tru-Green, as my father in law used their services in another state. After one year of their service, I noticed that I still had weeds, and that my neighbors who used a individually owned service did not have weeds. When I contacted Tru-Green, the route man came out, assessed my lawn, and quoted me a price. I was then told to contact their office and set up the account to be direct billed to my credit card. When I contacted the office, I was quoted a slightly higher price ($3 difference), but when I spoke with the manager I was given the price quoted by the driver. The driver was very knowledgeable and professional, answered all my questions, and began service as agreed. The lawn needed care, and at first their service made a marked improvement in the control of weeds and overall appearance of the lawn. Later in the season, however, I noticed that some weeds were still making an appearance. When I called, they offered to come out and retreat at no charge, and they spot treated. I wonder if their applications were rushed. During the fall and winter months, they applied pre-emergence, but I was disappointed to find a lot of henbit emerging in the winter months and early spring. At this time I had been noticing that my neighbors yards did not have any weeds, and I decided to end my service agreement with Tru-Green, and go with another company. When I called the Tru-Green office, they were very pleasant and accommodating, and my direct bill to the credit card was stopped as they agreed.

I don't know that much about them. I don't feel like I have to have a conversation with them. Our lawn looks nice, and they do what we are paying them for. I have used many who don't do what they say they are going to do. They call before they come out. What ever they are doing, it's working. We don't have any weeds, and the grass is beautiful.

We cancelled last December. They came 4 times and all they did was stick signs in her yard saying we've been here. We never knew if they did anything, because they came at 6 o'clock in the morning. I called, they told me they would send somebody out and made the comment that we had a big yard, because she has 20 acres. I give them low ratings and will not use them again in the future.

We have used Trugreen lawn fertilizer for the last 4 years. About 2 years ago they fooled us into adding the shrub fertilizer service. So about every 6 weeks we paid $50 for the lawn and $50 for shrub service. About 3 months ago, a whole row of fully grown evergreens died inexplicably. It appears to me that they may have all gotten too much of a chemical. All of the other shrubs are fine. There is no indication of a pest infestation. We called Trugreen to evaluate this. They stated that it wasn't their fault but that they would send some dirt to the botanical gardens to evaluate it. About a month passed and we heard nothing from them. We decided that we have paid too much for our shrubs to be dying. We cancelled only the shrub service. A customer rep THEN calls us to find out about the problem. We explained that we weren't paying them to kill our shrubs. He said he would give us a free treatment and send a district manager to evaluate it. He would only agree to this if we agreed to resume shrub service. I feel like if the shrubs died during their service, they should evaluate it and restore my shrubs without me restarting the service. At this point, we felt that the company lacked integrity and since our lawn has been full of with weeds with the lawn service, we cancelled the whole account. We are going to try Mighty Green.

On July, 6, 2010 They sprayed my shrubs at 12:10 PM in 95 degree heat, on a cloudless day. Several days after the application of insecticide and fungicide large beds of creeping juniper began to brown. I called the franchisee repeatedly but never received a return call. I went to the county agricultural extension service to analyze the situation. I attempted to reach the franchisor and was bounced back to the local guy. Eventually I made a long distance call to the parent company I had to get the number from Maryville, OH information as they do not have a toll free number. They have NO customer service department. If they have a franchise relations person they would not put me through. I finally told the switchboard to advise whoever that I would be reporting Scott to the BBB and Angie's List and if necessary I would be filing suit against Scott as it is their name that I bought. The next day the franchisee came to the house. He was not at all apologetic and assumed no responsibility for the damage. He told me he was too busy to return phone calls. Needless to say I terminated my relationship with them and would not recommend them to anyone. I submit this report at this late date because I may have to replace all those shrubs this Spring.

I have used Tru Green/ Chem Lawn for several years and have been pleased with the service. However, in April I had them to come out and treat my yard and flower gardens for fire ants. After a few days I noticed the shrubs and daylillies in my flower garden was turning brown. I call and reported what was happening and asked for someone to call me concerning this. I also still had ants in my flower garden. It took three weeks to talk with someone about this, the only explanation I got as to why my shrubs was turning brown was, they were not sure it had happen to other peoples shrubs also. The agreement on this service was that any time in the next twelve months they would could out and respray. I have yet to see them, I treated the area myself. I have not been pleased with this service at all

First off, the $$ amount per service is based on a pre-determined lot size and not the actual amount of grass that is present so I felt that the service was overpriced. I prepaid for four lawn treatments in the summer to try this service out. The technicians perform the service unannounced/unscheduled and leave a reciept detailing what they accomplished. On the first application, the technician applied fertilizer to the front and side lawn ONLY but checked on the reciept that the back yard was accomplished as well. I had to call and have them come back out to complete the job and expressed that if they just call ahead my spouse could put the dogs as I assumed thats why the technician did not finish the work. The second application occured the same as the first and on the third attempt, the technician did call but I could not make it home within the 15 minutes he gave me to put the dogs up before I would have to reschedule. On the fourth application, the technician simple rang the doorbell but did not attempt to call. When I called to terminate the service, the local office stated that I could have set up the applications on a schedule but when I asked why they didn't offer that option the other four times I called they simply appologized. They also stated that they would come out to get a more accurate square footage of actual lawn to get a better price. The lawn that was treated was greened up so I don't doubt the effectiveness of the product that is used but the lack of integrity shown by the technician was enought for me to cancel service.

It seems as though they are doing their job correctly. I have not had any problems with them for the five years that I have been using them. My lawn looks good and I would recommend them to others.

They came out every month, I didn't notice any difference in the lawn. When I moved away from the house, I tried to cancel service. Twice by writing down on my statement that I needed to cancel, and at least three times by calling in. They kept coming and kept billing me. Because I had cut them off of my credit card's automatic payment system, it kept coming back non-sufficient. So they've billed me $45 a month for non-sufficient funds AND lawn service at a house I don't even live at. Whenever I call in, they deny having received notice of my cancellation, and keep coming. This isn't even the first time I've had problems communicating with them. I once called in to find out about getting my grass mowed, and the person I dealt with informed me TruGreen didn't take care of that. He referred me to someone who used a weed eater that hacked down my jasmine bushes. I later found out that they DO cut lawns, and the employee I previously spoke to was getting kickbacks from the entity he referred me to. TruGreen is a nightmare to deal with.

They came out and fertilized the lawn when they were asked not to. They come out unannounced and unsolicited, when not asked to do so. They bill you for things that they do not do.

I did not like Tru Green Chemlawn at all there were a few times that I gave them specific directions and they did not follow them at all. I had made my own mulch garden and stated that I did not want anything put in it and when I got home I noticed that they had blown all the leaves off my property into my mulch garden. If I could have canceled then I would have but I will never hire them again.

Our lawn looks very green and thick since we have been using Tru Green-Chemlawn. We are very happy with the services that they provide. We have no lawn bugs and no weeds or crabgrass either.

I haven't seen a big difference. Some of the weeds are gone but most of them are still there. I feel they could do a better job and I would be hesitant to recommend them. There is just not any big improvement like I expected.

I have had a very pleasant experience with Scotts Lawn service. My yard looks great. Also the people from Scotts Lawn Service are extremely pleasant to work with. Every time they come out we chat while he works. I would recommend Scotts Lawn Service.

I really think that they could of done a much better job when it came to the weeds. From what I could tell, I had no less weeds than before they sprayed for them. The health of the grass and overall had been an improvement but for the cost I expected the whole package. I am going to do it myself and see what the results are like.

We have been very satisfied with their service on our yard. We have used them for several years and they have been able to really perk up our yard for us. They were always punctual and came when they said they would. They didn t bother me, they just left a bill in the door. We didn t even have to be home they just got it done.

We had a yearly contract with them to come out and spray about 8 times a year. They used a pretty good product and everything looked just fine. They would leave us a report on what they did whenever they were here.

They were very respectful and neat. They really took their time and worked very hard. They did a good job trimming and it still looked good. They completed the job within 3 hours and they asked great questions that pertained to my yards well being. I would definitely recommend this company to everyone.
