Lowe's uses independent contractors for these services. The contractor was pleasant and his work was great. However, as he was licensed in PA and not WV, he was not able to obtain a dumpster from the city for the project and we had to make those arrangements ourselves.The cost of the dumpster rental and the charges for the weight difference when returned were added to our water/sewer bill. However, these costs were also included in the total price quoted and charged to a Lowes credit card. We had to pay the dumpster rental as it was on our water bill (almost $300). The contractor assured us he would pay us back, because he had already been paid by Lowes and it was supposed to be his responsibility to get the dumpster. And ultimately, he did pay us back. But it took several calls to our Lowes sales rep (who was NOT helpful and incredibly dismissive), and an in person meeting with the store manager, and several calls and emails to the contractor before we did get that money back. Overall, we have been pleased with the service from Lowe's and from the contractor, who actually did a a good job on our roof. I made sure to let the store manager know when the issue was finally resolved and I even called the national Lowe's hotline to commend the manager for his assistance. But I also made it clear to all involved that if they choose to use out of state contractors to do their work, it shouldn't fall upon the home owner to put out hundreds of dollars that is already accounted for in the total cost and then wait several months for reimbursement. We have a small house/small roof. I can't imagine how much someone with a large house would have to pay for this same service (dumpster rental).

I found the customer service amazing there...they were very busy that day..but still found the time to assist me in finding everything I needed. The people in the flooring department were also very knowledgable about everything they were telling me. I will definitely go back to Lowes for everything I need!! Way to go!!

I am remodeling my home and creating an open floor plan. I went to Lowe's to purchase some hammers nails and to inquire about a support beam to replace the wall that we tore out. I knew the specs and what was up to code ahead of time. When I went to the lumber department to inquire about cost and delivery of my beam. I was treated as if I did not know what I was talking about, I said support mean to replace a load bearing wall. I also described in detail what I was doing with the house and what I needed. I did not get anywhere. I cannot get over the poor customer service. I went to the registers and paid for the items I had. Then when the cashier asked if I found everything ok, I replied no I didnt. Then I explained the situation and the cashier said "well thats not their fault they dont know" well I am sorry but if you work in the lumber department you should know about the lumber you have or that you may need to order, and if not then offer to find someon that does. I went to a competiter and got just what I needed and GREAT customer service!
