Steve Marino

This is the second project we have had Steve work on. We are always pleased with his work. He was always considerate of our plans to stage the kitchen and made sure that the space was "liveable" until we do the final stage of our renovation. He is by far the cleanest contractor we have ever used - everything was draped with plastic and he cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. His communication was excellent. We were actually out of town for a portion of the project and he always kept us updated, and even sent us pictures.

Steve went beyond being helpful. He cleared our gutters of debris, as it contributed to our problem. He recommended possible resolve and contact after future gutter repairs. We will seek his experience in repairing an underlying problem beneath our roof's shingles.

Let me start out by stating that I have spent a good part of my career dealing with the building trades, acting in the roles both a GC and a subcontractor on projects. In fact, the last 12 months I spent working for the the largest infrastructure construction firm called Balfour Beatty plc in the UK. For this particular project, we started out my doing some destructive testing (DT), pulling off some siding on the chimney stack to see how estensive the damage was. This was done before the final bid was prepared. We determined through this DT that the damage wasn't as extensive as it could have been. We also uncovered some workmanship issues of which the builder was not aware (house wrap, flashing, et al.). The original plans did not include a fireplace and it apparently was a late addition. The builder, who had lived in the house, obviously used a subpar subcontractor to do this work as we did not see flashing or other issues on the rest of the house. There was a period of time between the DT and the actual work scope during which the bid was finalized, accepted and scheduled. Let me comment on certain qualities I look for in a good building contractor: Bidding Scope-of-Work (SOW) The bid was very professional and included pictures of the damaged areas. Reference was made (and provided) to the spec sheets of both Hardieplank and Tyvek. What was most impressive, including the reference to these spec sheets, was referencing what was excluded from the project. Professionalism Steve and his crew (Steve and 2 assistants) demonstrated the utmost in professionalism thoughout the pre-bid and performance of the work. Communication Steve was prompt in telling me what to expect, whether it was delays in the performance of work, any changes or considerations I needed to weigh in on, and daily he gave both my wife and I updates on the progress on the project and when we could expect him next. Punctual Steve and his crew were punctual and stayed well past six o'clock on most days. Respect Steve and his crew showed great respect for my wife and I by moving his truck out of the driveway anytime we came home, thoroughly cleaning up the job site each and every day, and in the general demeanor of the crew. Promises Kept One of the things I learned from many years of being involved in projects as a service provider was that you never want to over-promised nor under-perform. At the end of the project, I was 100% satisfied with the end result. In fact, I told Steve and his crew that if I had to rate him on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate him "11". Steve Marino was extremely knowledgeable, professional and efficient in examining construction defects in my condominium unit and in preparing an estimate for repairs. He found defects that were missed by the forensic engineer hired by my HOA insurance company and by several home inspectors. His expert testimony in court prevailed against the engineer. He provided free estimates and clear reports. He explained building issues in language understandable to lay persons. He presented practical solutions to cure problems.

Steve and his team were excellent to work with. I contacted him and he came out the next day to replace the missing shingles given that there was a chance of rain in the forecast. Professionalism and quality of service were top notch and I will definitely be contacting him for future roofing needs.

Very good. I was kind of in a hurry because the rain was coming he came out the next day and had it done within an hour or so. Very professional.

We moved to a new house and during the home inspection the home inspector found a roof leak and other siding issues. The leak has been on going since the home was build in 2006, and this siding issues were potential leaks . Steve came out with his crew and they got to work, 2 guys on the roof leak and the 2 more on the siding repairs. Steve would go from crew to crew supervising and getting them supplies and materials to keep going. They completed it in one day. I was very happy with the quality of work, clean up, price and most important the leak was fixed right.

Steve was extremely helpful answering questions I had. He took the time to answer questions and provided a contact who could repair the issue.

Very disappointed in lack of communication.

The complete roof needed to be removed. The support beams were rotted and had to be replaced. The roof design around the chimney needed to be redesigned to prevent a repeat the trapping of water around the chimney from the original design intent. From start to finish his work took three weeks. This after one year of plastic, waiting on AAA Insurance and Emergency Fire and Water to decide what would be paid for! Steve came in calmed us down and gave us our house back before Thanksgiving. The quality of professionalism and craftsmanship was amazing. I cannot say enough about this man and his company to anyone.

When we initially had an appointment with Steve we felt we were well informed, the cost was within reason and we were confident the remodel was going to run smoothly. Steve always met his deadlines and his work performed by him and his crew was excellent. The whole process ran smoothly. I don't know what I would have done without him! My husband works third shift and Steve and his crew were very respectful of his sleeping schedule. They worked around the days he needed to sleep. I would use Steve Marino Construction Management again and refer him to others!

Steve is knowledgable and has good communication skills. He made an apptmt and came over promptly. He explained how his crew would go around the garage interior perimeter, jacking up the garage a maximum half inch, a few lineal feet of wall at a time, to remove old double sill plate and replace with new treated wood. Steve gave a detailed written proposal, including price, a couple days later. After Steve gave us a date, he arrived to start his crew and stopped at the job site several times, in addition to touching base with us. His crew was courteous when we checked on job progress and workmanship quality, respected neighbor boundaries about 4 ft from garage on two sides, hooked the downspouts back up and did an excellent job of cleanup. Steve was very responsive to our questions and even willing to listen and advise against homeowners proposed solution to a problem apart from the work he was doing. After receiving Steve's proposal cost, we requested a couple additional things we wanted done on garage including adding aluminum flashing the first 8 inches around the entire perimeter to keep out the substantial chipmunk and other critter population. We expected to pay extra for these things as well as the additional labor charges for digging down to foundation slab he had mentioned. Steve's bill remained only the proposal amount he had quoted, with no additional labor charges for the required removal of soil and the extra things we added. He is also providing a lien waiver and explained the importance of securing them when work is done on one's home. Steve Marino is a true professional, meeting and exceeding expectations.

Everything went well. Steve did an excellent job and was very professional. He was not the cheapest but I still went with him based on recommendation from a friend. I don't regret that decision and very happy with the quality of work

Steve was prompt, professional, efficient and courteous. He was also meticulous, making sure the work area (attic access door is in my closet) was draped with tarps and remained clean, etc. He made sure his crew kept the back door shut so my cat would not escape. I would highly recommend his services.

We first hired Steve on a word-of-mouth recommendation for roof replacement. He replaced our 20+ year old roof and did a great job. He was on site often to oversee the work and answer any questions, prompt, and finished the project in a timely manner. He was very friendly, and helpful and even instructed his crew to hook up our fridge to the generator one hot day when the power went out so our food would not go bad! How helpful was that?! A few months later, we noticed a hole in our wood siding, and called Steve again. A woodpecker had drilled it's way through our siding - so Steve repaired and replaced the siding. We are happy with the outcome of both projects, and would not hesitate to call him again.

Steve was on top of everything from the beginning. He was very prompt in returning calls and extremely knowledgeable with any question I threw his way. This guy and his crew were amazing in all aspects of getting things done, and quickly. I would HIGHLY recommend his services to anyone seeking a quality, prompt, and very affordable project taken care of the right way. I will definitely be using Steve in the future and recommend that you do too.

Steve worked with my insurance company to get the best reimbursement possible. His proposal was accepted with no questions asked and it even covered my deductible. Steve was so helpful with this emergency. It required immediate attention and he was able to get help over to the house within just a couple of hours to start the cleanup. I called Steve since our tenant was complaining of water leaking from the dining room light fixture. I wanted Steve to go out ASAP to diagnose and fix the problem since it had been raining a lot and we did not want damage to the dry wall/ceiling. Steve told me over the phone what he felt the problem was, but said he could go out right away and check it out. After confirming with the tenant, Steve went out several days later. After we negotiated a price, Steve took care of the problem quickly and professioally, and charged a fair price.

Within an hour of contacting Steve Marino Construction Management Corp I received a call to set up a time to receive an estimate. Steve came out to give us an estimate the same day. Within two days we were able to have them out to make the repairs. Once the repair was complete we received a call to make sure we were completely satisfied with the work and the clean up once they were done. Steve also told us he was lowering the price of the work done, because once they began working they realized it would not be as much work as they expected. In all my years as a home owner we have never had a contractor lower the cost after giving an estimate and completing the work. The professionalism and responsiveness by Steve Marino is EXCELLENT! Steve and his crew responded in an extremely timely fashion when we lost several shingles, due to extreme weather. It was small job, by comparison to most, but Steve treated it with as much importance as a larger, more time-consuming job. The roof was fixed within a day of consultation.
